Oregondaisy replied to janarae's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story

Can someone direct me? What is 5:2?
Oregondaisy replied to goirish78's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Some of us made it to goal and have gained weight back. We've tried losing the re gain without any success. Have you ever heard of the 5 day pouch diet? It's supposed to get you back on track. We believe that this gets you back on track and keeps you on track. Others in the group have been trying for a long time to get to goal and are having trouble losing. If you click on the post that has all the links on it, you'll learn a lot about the 5:2 way of eating. The people in the group plan to keep eating this way in maintenance. -
Considering 5:2 fast diet
Oregondaisy replied to janarae's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The reason for the one year is it can take a year just letting the sleeve work as a tool. A lot of people are still under their doctor's supervision for a year, or seeing a nutritionist. I don't want anyone going against their doctor's orders. Anyone can read about the diet and see if they think they can stick with it long term. The people in this group plan to continue to eat this way for maintenance. -

stevia is better but few things have it. splenda is supposed to be better. Aspertame is awful stuff & I won't drink/eat that stuff. -
I don't plan to continue to eat a ton of protein. I have read that it's not good to eat more than our bodies need. I think at 5'2" 50 grams is my requirement. I had over 100 today.
-
now you have me confused. if my resting metolbolic rate is 1300, how many do you think I should eat on non fast days that i don't exercise? Some days I can't fit it in.

feed, I don't know what you're talking about. I thought they were basically the same thing.

How was your 5:2 day today?
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I did very well yesterday and the scale rewarded me. Today I am going on a picnic at the river with my daughter and a friend. They will be bringing junk food, I am sure. I have to try to be strong!! -
fasting If you want to be in the 5:2 group, you must try it first
Oregondaisy posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
We have been having a lot of requests to join out group. That's really great. We don't want to exclude anyone. We decided while we were talking about forming a group, we wanted people in the group who were eating the 5:2 way. This way is not for everyone. It involves fasting 2 days a week. If you read some of the links on our home page, you can read about the diet , then decide if you want to try it. Let us know you would like to join after you have fasted a couple of times, and you're sure this is the way you want to eat. We want people in the group who are eating this way, not just trying it for a week or two, and then deciding they don't like eating the 5:2 way. So please try eating the 5:2 diet before asking to join. There are threads where we talk about it, that are not in the group, in which everyone can post.and ask questions. -

Do Sleevers Absorb Alcohol Faster?
Oregondaisy replied to JentryB2020's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Yes, One drink and I am pretty drunk. The good thing is all I have to do is eat some Protein and I am sober immediately. I don't really like that drunk feeling. I will usually eat something fairly quickly to get rid of that feeling. The alcohol is getting dumped into your bloodstream much quickly because our tummies are so tiny. -
I hope you'll stick around, Carol. We really need more people who are as far out as you. Even though we've been sleeved longer than some people, it's still a battle, or at least speaking for myself, I know I'd gain it back.

I had my test taking at my band doctor's office on Thurs. I am not sure about TDEE but my resting metobolic test came out at 1300 calories. So I have to eat less than that to lose, right? If I exercise, that gives me more calories for the day. I am trying to stay under 1300 calories on non-fast days. I can't call them feast. That's what got me fat, lol. Otherwise I am sure I would gain back what I lose on fast days.

How was your 5:2 day today?
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That's a good idea Laura. I have actually lost more than I am counting because I used what I normally weigh as a start but I always had a gain on the weekend. So if I counted that, I've actually lost 7 lbs -

That's a great website. I bookmarked it. Thanks! -
Yes, Magnesium every day. Most people have a magnesium deficiency anyway. Try to drink as much water as you can.

How was your 5:2 day today?
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I can't remember what I weighed. I am not sure if I gained yesterday from a regular day. I didn't eat anything bad. I really should not weigh every day. Everyone is doing so great! I do love this way of eating. It's completely cured my grazing. I am sure staying in contact with all of you is helping 100% too! Cause all I did the past year was up 2 lose 2 up 2 lose 2. It was so frustrating. At least now I have hope that I will get down to at least 140. Edited to add that I have gained back a lb. I looked on some past posts and I was at 145 after a fast. One feast days we are sill supposed to diet right? I had my resting metobolic test taken and my TDEE is 1300 calories. I should be eating under that on non fast days, right? -
Effects of Protein Shakes
Oregondaisy replied to miss_cee85's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you make them in a blender with ice, they will get really thick like a milk shake. Frozen fruit is great in them too. Also get some of the sf syrups. I like sf coconut and sf salted caramel -
Take magnesium That will help . At least 2 capsules. Also take miralax at least every other day.Make sure you're drinking plenty of Water. ' I do still have to use a fleet enema too, but the magnesium has made a huge difference.

Just call your insurance company. You can ask them the requirements you have to meet to have this surgery. -
I know if I eat any carbs besides the carbs in veggies, I am hungry all the time.
