Yes, Diva originally posted it and I think it's perfect advice to follow it if a person can do it. It's pretty strict but it produces results and gets rid of carb cravings. It's pretty much the induction phase of the Atkins diet. It will do the exact same thing the 5 day pouch test will do.

We have 19 people in our group, but we don't have 19 posting. We need to update whether everyone is actually eating the 5:2 way. I think I have lost 11 lbs since starting. I have to weigh cause I fasted yesterday and see if I kept it off today.
-
It is my hope people will try this who are even thinking of the 5 day pouch test. Most people say they gain back whatever they lose on the pouch test as soon as they're eating normal food.

How was your 5:2 day today?

chocolate is so addicting. There are days were I feel like I am going to lose it if I don't get a hold of some chocolate right now! Those power crunch bars are addicting too. I love them so much. they pretty much taste like a candy bar, but at least I am getting some Protein out of them. That's probably the main reason I still do a Protein Shake for Breakfast. I do a pretty good job with blending the ice so it taste like a Wendy's frosty. I add either coconut, or peppermint or salted caramel. sf syrup to them . yum yum. Peanut Butter and choc is my favorite but that's a different brand, and it has more calories and carbs than my plain chocolate powder. -

Two years out, happy, but not quite at goal with question

I never call them fast days or feast days really. I would feel too deprived if I thought I was fasting. I call them low cal days and regular days. My regular days are below 1300. I had my resting metobolic test taking to find out how many calories I need to eat , or how many less I need to eat to lose. I hardly ever make 500 on low cal days. I always end up at about 550. -
I am glad you're back Globe! I put some stuff in the box that is more snacky type but you can give it away. Do you have trouble getting the things you need? Probiotics, Greens?

Welcome! I find fast days to be very difficult lately. I went off the plan for 2 weeks while my brother was visting from chicago, and it's been much more difficult for me to do the fast days since I got out of the habit for 2 weeks. I do love the window and the fact that I look at the clock now and realize it's too late to have a snack or I would not be able to eat tomorrow til really late. So it's cured me of my grazing at night. I hope you'll be posting regularly and letting us know how it's going for you!

I can't keep chocolate in the house. I did have a skinny cow chocolate bar today. I bought them a long time ago I felt sick this evening and hardly had dinner so I decided I deserved to eat a skinny cow chocolate bar. Most of the time, I read the box and it says 14 carbs and I put it back in the box. -
off topic, but I really want your opinions

It's really hard to say. I have heard over and over again that it takes a specialist who specilalizes in arms to not have a horrible scar. I've seen them. You're right that you can't really seee them when the arms are down. I usually wear 3/4 length sleeves now because I find my arms embarrassing. I guess only you can decide which bothers you more; your arms the way they look now, or with a scar. Maybe you could take a pen an draw one on there so you could sort of get an idea what you'll have afterward. Does your surgeon have pictures you can look at? Congratulations on getting plastics! You're going to feel so good when your excess skin is gone. I hope you'll have help while you're recovering. I hope it is quick and less painful than most! I am so glad you joined our group! -

Butter, what is the new rules of weight lifting? -
Almost 9 months out. Opinions on going back on a full protein shake diet for a few weeks?
Oregondaisy replied to Jenny12's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Look at the boot camp diet I just posted. You will lose weight with that diet, and not have to starve on liquids only. Most people just gain back what they lose when they do liquids, as soon as they return to 3 meals a day. That boot camp diet works really well, if you push the Water. -

ended up with a lean cuisine that was only chicken and spinnach so I came in right at around 500. I'll tape my mouth shut so I don't snack tonight. -
Congrats Legal! I am always so happy to see vets check in . If it weren't for those of us who are happy sleevers eating whatever we want in small portions, those newbies would not get to know how great life can be! Congratuations on 3 years, but also on doing a great job in mainenance!

5:2 has made a huge difference to me. I think it's a great way for sleevers to lose the last little bit and to use for maintenance. I was not doing maintenance myself on my own very well. I gained weight and I could not lose it until I started eating the 5:2 way. -

So far only 2 Protein Shakes for the day . 120 cal ea. My big problem is at night though. I am a night owl, so around 9pm I want to start snacking. Healthy Snacks, like greek yogurt are okay but not on fast days. There's not enough calorie range for a nice snack. Don't know what dinner will be. I told the man friend to pick up a chicken which he did not do, so am not cooking and I'll figure out something for myself. -

Swissly I am so sorry to hear about this. It's a horrible feeling knowing somone was in your house. (((Swissly))) I am bummed because I did really well yesterday and I am still up 2 lbs from my lowest. Tonight the significant other is coming over and it's always a lot harder when he is around. All he does is eat, it seems. I was in a bad mood so I didn't even go to the gym, which i know is stupid. I know I'd feel better afterward. -
Just know that the band is nothing like the sleeve. Susan can move this thread if she thinks it's necessary. I know a lot of bandsters want reasurance that the band is not like the sleeve. They are as different as night and day. Eating with the sleeve is normal eating.

I am glad you posted Jane. I've been wondering how the 5:2 was going for you. I agree that eating this way seems to be a great way for us. I tried for over a year to lose my regain but this is what did the trick. I love this way of eating. I am so glad you checked in.

I have no clue how to post pictures. I have a tablet and I know it takes pictures but how I would get one from the tablet to here, remains a mystery.

If you say a series is good, can you please give us some details about what the series is about. I watched all of Orange is the new Black too. I loved it. I can't wait for the next season. what is Nurse Jackie, House of cards and Downtown Abby about? I do watch the United States of Tara.I like that too. I am not done with it yet though. I'd like to find one I can watch with my significant other. We have such different tastes in movies. We both did enjoy Weeds though.

Georgia I am really happy for you ! You're going to pass me by soon. I did pretty well today. I didn't graze and had a very light dinner so I could have my 100 calorie pack of almonds later. AND I worked out hard with my trainer. So I hope the scale gets back to where it was. I hate this going backward. I sure wish Globe would check in. She told me what she wanted in her care pacakage and it's stuffed full. I just need her address. -

Cheri check in whether your're eating the 5:2 way or not. Some times, I just feel like it's all I can do to keep my head above Water. today is one of those days. I have had bad head hunger all day for salty snack foods. It's supposed be a fast da, I'll have a Protein Shake to keep my calories low for the day . Yesterday my head was so into it and I don't know what happened. -
Well they did a pretty good job of tying up all the loose ends. Walt got to do everything he wanted to do. I don't want to say too much in case some people didn't see the last show.
