How was your 5:2 day today?
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes you can read the posts here. It even shows up on new threads. YOu can't post though unless you're a member. I didn't do bad with my eating, but I didn't do great ether. I had left over baby back ribs in the fridge that were calling to me. I wasn't able to eat them because I had all those birthday dinners to go to. I did make it the gym though so I should not see a gain tomorrow. -
It's very easy to gain weight. Life catches up and it's easy to take in way more calories than you think you're eating. We have to be vigilent. It's much easier to take off 5 than 20. The boot camp diet works very well for getting rid of carb cravings and dropping weight fast.

I must be lucky. There isn't anything that doesn't sit well with me or that I have trouble eating. There are foods that fill me up very quickly though, and I'm not able to eat much of, like an apple. I can't remember the last time I've eaten anything like spaghetti or rice. If I eat carbs, it's going to be something like a baked yam.

I'd like to hear the answer to this too. I do squats and lunges but I know there are more exercises for those outer thighs.

3 mos out. OMG! What have I done? Protein makes me nauseous

It doesn't have to be dense protein at every meal. There's always things like tuna, egg salad, fish, etc. You'r e supposed to eat a healthy diet. Small bites of a variety of foods. -

Looking forward to fasting tomorrow. . just realized Halloween is a fast day. I am going to the movies and I am going to enjoy my popcorn. I am holding steady with my weight and I think I deserve a kiddy size popcorn. Will fast tomorrow though! -
Sometimes acid will make your stomach hurt. Most sleeved people are on an acid blocker. You should ask your surgeon's office about this.

Yeah, I saw it on sex and the city. Miranda baked a cake and then after eating a piece, she took the rest, put it in the garbage, and squirted dish soap on it. I put mine down the garbage disposal. -

Jane you're going to look so hot when you're all healed up. What a journey. You're so bravee. I know it will be worth it in the end. I have an addiction problem. Besides food addiction I fight a substance abuse and it's not easy. One say at a time. And the food addiction is the worse. Today is my birthday and I had a protein drink for breakfast, a hot fude sundae for lunch, came home and took a nap, and went out for pizza, I was able to eat one piece. I was stuffed. Then I took cake home. It was delicious. I took a few bites and threw the rest down the sink. This was a really shitty birhday. I slept all day. then I got a letter from Allen sayning I owe him 1,0000. He is so full of bs. That really impoved my mood. I am really excited that I can go back to dieting now that bd is over. I am really in the mood to hit the gym hard and tghten up and hopefully lose a few more lbs. Ive got my brain in the "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels" I don't want to eat. -
Scary surgeon story has me freaked out!

I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Aceves. Why don't you pm *Susan* who is a moderator/administrator here at VST and she also works for/with Dr. Aceves. I am sure she will tell you the truth. -

Thanks for all the compliments everyone! I am so happy that (I may as well say it now) at 61, I have no grey hair. I had my date today. The guy was very anti fat people. He wanted to meet at this cofee shop/bakery. I had the tinest cookie I could find and water. Every time someone came in the door he would make a comment like " That lady sure looks like she needs that donut" Then an overweight man came in and he said "how would you like it if he turned out to be your online date" He's not going to be around long. He's from Colorado and he's looking to relocate here. He told me he liked me a lot and would like to see me again. He's defnitely not bf material but depending on how bored I am that day, I may see him again. When he wasn't ragging on fat people, he was actually interesting and funny. I hate online dating. I wish there were some other way to meet people. I had protein shakes for breakfast, I guess a cookie for lunch and a protein shake for dinner so I didn manage a fast today. It's too bad I'm going to gain weight tomorrow from birthday cake cause I am in the diet zone now! Sarsar, I did come in and see Dr. Aceves when I came to Mexicali for my face lift. I didn't see anyone else though, other than Dr. Campos. It would have been nice to know someone from the board who was going to be there. I would have gone to visit for sure. -

I had no idea you live so close to me Jane! Seattle is just a hop skip and a jump up the freeway from Portland. You're doing great! It sounds so painful and I am such a baby when it comes to pain. I don't think I could do it. I have a 22 pistol. I can't shoot it. I have a really hard time with the kick back and the noise. I want to shut my eyes and shoot. It's wierd. I hope you do better than me. -
You should definitely have the surgery and all the benefits it will give you. You should know though, that this is not going to be a cure all. It is very possible to gain all of the weight back if you don' t make permanent changes in your eating habits. There are several of us in the veterans forum who are dealing with trying to take off the regain. It is much, much harder later on down the road. You're going to have to find a work out program that you won't give up on, and you may need to change the people you hang around with, if you want to be successful later on . You have your whole life ahead of you, and they will do surgery on your stomach, but that is not going to change the way you think about food.

Oh yeah, I have looked on OK Cupid. Their set up is so completely different. I thought someone had mentioned one I had never heard of. I am thinking of paying to join the one that's for us older folks. I'll be 61 on Fri. I think it's called Senior People Meet. -

Damn I thought it was in this thread where I mentioned Plenty of Fish, and someone else named another dating site which is popular in their area. Now I can't find that post to look up that dating site. -

I am going to call the guy today, who sent me the message. He gave me his number so I am going to call him when I get back from the gym. I agree totoally that 5:2 has taken away my hunger. I sometimes don't even want to eat. I love it! -

Laura it is hard all the time. It gets so old. It's a life long battle that never ends. I know how sick I get of that scale always running my moods. My birthday is Friday . I ordered choc cake and choc frosting. I might not eat dinner. I always gain weight between my bd and Christmas. Not this year. I swear. I have worked too hard to get this off. Oh and I have a date. Some guy an hour away messaged me on POF. He's retired, not bad looking and has a great profile. We shall see. I am ready to have some fun. Allen could never afford to go anwhere. Dating always makes me thinner  -

It's hard to mention everyone by name, unless I bring up another window next to this one so I can read everyone's posts. I am wating for the fed ex man. The other day, Wed. was the day Allen and I had a big fight. I ended up putting my phone in my jacket pocket and then later throwing the jacket in the washer. So I could not go to the gym which I know would make me feel better. endophins are great for that. I have to wait for the fed ex man cause I am so tired of not having my phone. I have a land line but everyone texts me . I put up a message on FB not to text me cause my phone is broken. I am going to try to fast today but I am in a really bad mood. If my phone comes soon, that will improve my mood considerably. Oh and I am up about 3 lbs. so that doesn't make me happy either. -

Yeah, I'll get used to the idea that I am going to be alone again. It's just going to take me a little while. I did message a couple of guys on Plenty of Fish. I remember before while I was dating when I met Allen, it was actually kind of fun. I like to dress up and fuss now. It's just hard in the beginning when they want to go out to dinner. -
What is your "(non)guilty pleasure" food?
Oregondaisy replied to endless80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love Greek Yogurt. I love the Dannon ones and Yoplait only has one with 10 carbs . The rest have like 25. Choboni is my favorite but it has a lot of carbs too. so I gues my guilty pleasure is a Greek yogurt that has more carbs than I think I should have. -

Have you looked at the Boot Camp Diet I posted? It's basically lean meats and green veggies. and lots of water. I don't see how it's possible to eat like that and not lose weight. -
How can you tell what to eat?
Oregondaisy replied to skinnymolly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you feel really constipated and don't want to wait for something to take foever to work, go and get a Fleet's enema. After that, take Miralax every other day. The way my doctor did the post op diet was 10 days clear liquid 10 days full liquid '10 days mushie foods. Like everyone said, call your doctor and ask how you should proceed with your post op diet. They should have given you something written down, about a post op diet. -

But I've got my head in this losing and I'll only pamper myself for one day. Back to the gym tomorrow. Funny though, I don't feel like eating. -
