Thanks guys! You have already made me feel better. I am taking my profile off plenty of fish. I'll put one back up without a picture for awhile, so I can read the forums. They are pretty interesting. The one thing I don't like about that website is unlike msn messenger, you can't hide when you're online. That's the reason he knew I was still up. He said he saw that I was online. I have thought a lot about this and thank goodness for caller ID. I don't even plan on talking to him anymore. He doesn't have my email address and hopefully he will get the hint when I don't answer the phone anymore.

I never had any steri strips. I had some kind of super glue. When it started coming off, I used Nuskin or liquid bandage on mine. It worked great.
  3. I am at 2.5 and I know I couldn't stand it any tighter. I will have to lose a lot of fat around my stomach before this loosens up.
  4. Having the right amount of a fill has made a huge difference for me. Now I am struggling to get my Protein in. I have lost 5 lbs since I got that fill, less than a week ago. By the way, what kind of fat free cheese is good? I eat the string cheese, but they are low fat, not fat free.

Well, the question of what to say to him has been answered, thank goodness. He ended up calling me like at 11:30 pm. I could tell he was really drunk. I told him I thought he had a drinking problem . He had 3 bourbon on the rocks with dinner. He told me he ''needs to unwind" on the weekends. He was quite offended when I told him I thought he had a drinking problem. He had obviously had a few more when he got home. Alysa, I know exactly what you are talking about-anti chemistry. I met a guy from yahoo personals a couple of years ago. We are still friends. That is exactly how I feel about him. Every time I am with him, I think just like you said "don't even accidently touch me" I told him right from the beginning that I only wanted to be friends. He seems fine with that. We go to the movies, etc, and I always pay my share. Indigo Girl, I know what you are talking about too. I did read that book and really liked it a lot. I would rather have a very nice guy that has it together than some conceited "hunk" I know I couldn't get a hunk anyway. The problem is that everyone that I have met over the past couple of years really has almost totally replused me. I have had several long term relationships, and I wouldn't say any of them were handsome, but there was just something there. I hope I can find that again someday, but I am really having doubts that it will ever happen for me again.

Maurdan, they had the calorie content of mixed drinks on the cooking section some show I watched. I don't remember which one. It might have been The View. I was shocked when I heard the calorie content of mixed drinks. Luckily for me, I don't drink at all. The only thing I drink ever is water. I would hate to have to budget one of those babies into my daily calorie allowance!

Bubble, When I come to AZ, we are going to have to go shopping. I need all the stuff you are mentioning. I am so lazy, I usually just do the low carb slim fast drinks. Is there a Hi Health in Mesa? Is that a health food store chain?
  9. I had steak tonight. I was told a lot of people get stuck on steak no matter how much they chew. I chewed like crazy and cut the bites into tiny slivers. I hate it so much when food gets stuck, that I have learned to chew until it's liquid. I agree, popcorn goes down like there is no band. Since I had my new fill, I am worrying about getting all my Protein in. Right now, that's my main concern. Since I can't eat very much anymore, it has to be protein packed. I am sick of my hair falling out!

    A thread for Single Bandsters

Okay, my single friends, I have a new question for everybody! How important are looks? Over the past couple of years, I have actually met several men online. Sometimes I wonder if I expect too much, thinking that I can actually find someone that is not unattractive. The guy tonight is not attactive at all. I have talked to him on the phone so much that I know he is a very sweet guy. I hate to keep going out with someone just because I really have nothing better to do. (That sounds so shallow.) I am really not a shallow person. It's really hard to imagine kissing someone that I am not attracted to. I don't really know how to write this without sounding so shallow. He wants to go out again, and I really didn't know what to tell him. There is a question on E Harmony that is something like this: Is Chemistry something that you notice immediately, or can chemistry grow the longer you get to know someone? I really want everyone's opinion on this. thanks everyone, Denise And Chrispy, we want an update! Are you still seeing the new guy that you were talking about when you said next time it's your treat?

    December Bandsters

I looked at my bmi and I would have to weigh 135 to not be overweight. I weighed 110 in high school, and 135 after I had kids at age 31. I don't know if 135 is even realistic for me at 54 years old. I would probably need a face lift. As I lose weight, I notice I am getting a turkey neck!! I don't have any goal weight. My big goal is not to have to wear plus sized clothes. I am almost there.

Update!! He just called to make sure I wasn't the one that wanted to back out this time. I have been freaking out trying to figure out what to wear. I am in that "nothing fits" situation. I do have some clothes that I got too fat for that I went digging for. Thanks Chrispy! You know, if it wasn't for you giving me encouragement, I would have never done this. You saw what I looked like, and made me feel like even though I have had my feelings trampled on before, I really could try again. Now he's got the advantage. He's seen my picture but his picture is of him standing on a pier in a shadow. That's what makes me wonder why he didn't do a head shot. When I come home, I will post how it went. He wants to go to dinner, and I am already freaking out because since my fill on Wed. I can barely eat. (in the words of Martha Stewart "and that's a good thing" Plus another thing he told me just now, he already told the kid about me. I would have never done that as a single parent until I was sure how it was going to turn out. So he must be thinking optimistically. he hee:clap2::nervous:ermm signing off, one freaked out Denise

Thanks Kristen! We talked on the phone last night until 1am and we are supposed to meet around 5 pm. Last weekend, when we were supposed to meet he had issues with his son, and changed the plans. I told him last nigh that he better be figuring out what he is going to do with his son this time. I was not happy that it didn't work out last weekend. It's just that he called at the very last minute when I had worked my whole day around this schedule. I figure he knows he has a kid, and he knew he had plans, so get the babysitting arrangements made ahead of time. It's going to be so disappointing to have spent every night with him on the phone and find out he has rotten teeth or something. That's another deal breaker for me. I had done this once before, where I had spent a lot of time talking on the phone with a guy, then met him and looking at his rotten teeth made me ill. For me, that comes under the catagory of personal hygiene that we discussed a couple pages ago. I think I am too old for this!

I am excited that I am supposed to meet the guy I have been talking to on the phone from plenty of fish. We have talked hours and hours on the phone. I sure wish I knew what he looked like. I hope I am able to come back here and tell everyone we really connected!

Volly, Alcohol is fattening! Did you know there are like 600 calories in a long island ice tea? You can do what you want, but if you're going to drink, don't mix it with any kind of sweet fruit juice. Beer is really fattening. Go online and read the calorie content of these types of things so you can plan it in your day. For breakfast I almost always have a protein bar or a protein shake. I am having trouble getting enough protein because I am just not hungry anymore. Late night snacks for me are sugar free fudgcicles or sugar free popcicles. I hope some other people in here give you some better ideas. There was a thread in here asking the ages of everyone, and it seems like there were quite a few young people posting.

    Restriction Poll

I just got more last Wed. and I am at 2.5 right now. I don't think I could handle anymore. In the morning, it's very difficult to drink water. I have to sip it slowly. I haven't had any trouble eating, but I am not hungry at all anymore. YAY!

I never knew there was a band that doesn't get filled. I still would like to know why my hair is falling out and when it's going to stop! I am totally sick of handfulls of hair all over the place. Luckily, I have very thick hair, and it's not noticeable.

    Anyone in Oregon??

Yes, I go to all the support groups. I rarely miss them. I didn' t know he raised his prices. I was just there and asked if they were going to do that, and they said no . Maybe they forgot what I paid. I don' t have any regrets. My only advice is to make sure you get your fills. They make all the difference in the world. Since my last fill, I practically have to force myself to eat. I had mine done in day surgery. I went in at 7 and they started by 8am and I was home posting on lap band talk by 11am. I would imagine you'll have to stay overnight since they make you do a swallow test the next morning. I would be happy to offer whatever support I can while you're in town. I think age has a lot to do with how fast we lose. He told me I wouldn't lose very fast because I started out at 212 and I am 54 years old. He said the younger and the more you have to lose, the faster it comes off.(if you follow all the rules, of course)

How is weight loss for people over 50?

I've been having trouble since my last fill. It's not like I can't swallow water or my own spit, like I have heard from others. It's just a lot harder to eat, and I even have to drink very slowly. I hope it loosens a little bit over the next few weeks. I have heard some people say it actually gets tighter after a little bit. If that happens, I am going to be in trouble!

How is weight loss for people over 50?

Green, Don't feel bad. Monday, I will be pooping in a cup and taking it to the dr. too. I have had this stomach problem called Hpylori and I think it's back. Since I tested postive for it before, they said a blood test won't work. I don't think it's that big of a deal.

I have that problem too, Kristin. There aren't many men in my area. I have enjoyed reading the forums in there though. Sorry about seeing your ex. I know I would really get depressed if I saw my ex with someone else. Just keep concentrating on your weight loss and you'll meet someone and it will be his loss!

    Age when banded?

I am 54 and I wish that I had been banded as soon as it first came out. I don't know why it took me so long to find out about it!

    Pay for the band! Poll!

My insurance has a no WLS exclusion on the policy. I paid $10,000.00
