Help! Anyone else have this happen??

What is the cost of this? Is this included in the price you pay for surgery?

    Slow Losers - Unite!

I had that problem too, and I ended up having some out. I got tired of how limited I was of what I could eat. I was living on protein shakes for awhile until I got some out. It so hard to find the exact right fill!
  3. Well today in the shower, it seemed like I didn't lose as much as I usually do. I usually lose about 4 handfuls and this was only 2 little wads, not nearly as big. This happened once before though, and I thought it was slowing down. That was about a month ago, and then it went right back to hair everywhere all over the bathroom, and handfuls in the shower. WasABubblebutt said that she read it stops at 10-11 months. I am at that point right now, so I have high hopes that it will stop. I am afraid I had a set back when I was too tight. I couldn't eat at all, and lost 8 lbs in a week. I really think the hair loss comes from losing too much too fast in the beginning. I lost 22 lbs the first month. Who knows though, because there are people who don't lose as much in the first month who say their hair is falling out too.

No, I would never go to anyone besides Dr. Tersingi. I absolutely love him. He would use fluro if I wanted to pay for it. It's way expensive though, because it has to be done at the hospital. I am at a good fill right now. Kelly Fitzpatrick is in Eugene and Portland. A lot of people go to her. I believe she is a nurse practitioner. She doesn't use fluro either, and she charges the same as Dr. Tersigni.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

okay, I went to the main board and there is definitely a post called Abbreviations and what they mean. And another for frequently asked questions. I am very constipated. I haven't had a BM since I started the liquid diet 2 weeks ago. Do you think I should take a laxative? Will that hurt the band?

I wish I knew what happened to photonut. She had some good posts on the thread killer thread. Isn't there a place on the main board for the new people to read about the band and the abbreviations? I haven't gone anywhere lately other than new posts. Now you have me wondering.......I will have to go and look.:rolleyes

    Holy cow, WASa!

My dog wouldn't even eat the bran crackers! They went in the garbage. I am glad I didn't order that many.

I had that exact thing happened. I thought it was all in my mind but I went to the dr and had him check. Sure enough, when he pulled the needle out, I had absolutely no fill. I think they can lose connection with the port or something. He can't explain it either.
  11. If anyone has an answer, I would love to hear it. My hair loss does not seem to be slowing down now that I am 10 months post op. I hope it does eventually.
  12. My left shoulder pain went away for about a month. Yesterday, for no apparent reason, it's back. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to why mine comes and goes.

I am supposed to be on the post op diet but I ate a whole pizza. Am I supposed to eat this much? How come I am not loosing weight?

I agree! Bring back your pictures! I think you look great. Don't pay attention to anyone who tells you otherwise. I have a friend that is too thin. Her bones stick out all over the place. You look at her and wonder if she is ill. She says she has no appetite. You don't look anything like her. You look like how I wish I look.

How do you "doctor" your cottage cheese?

I used to hate cottage cheese until my daughter told me to mix it with yogurt. I really like that now. There is a brand here that comes already mixed with pineapple that's pretty good too.

How is weight loss for people over 50?

I feel totally guilty if I don't exercise. It has definitely become a major part of my life. I get really mad when things come up and interfere with my gym time. Notmzperfect, did you take some pills, or is it just feel like something is stuck? I had a really easy recovery, so I really can't answer how long it will take you to feel better. I got banded on a friday and went back to work on Mon. I have a desk job too though. You shouldn't have anything get stuck this soon after banding though. You don't have a fill, so everything should go right down.

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Sheri, I am so sorry to hear about your son. I can't even imagine how horrible that must be. Carbs are the enemy! Once I get started on them, there is no stopping me. Usually the only carbs I have is my Kashi Crunch cereal before I go to the gym. I found I got nauseous if I didn't include some carbs at breakfast. It's high fiber cereal and I really need the fiber in my diet. I was really happy today that I actually got stuck on some veggies. I was beginning to think I had no fill at all because everything has gone down so well since I had my unfill. It's kind of funny to be glad that I got stuck, but at least I know everything is still working in there. I got carried away talking and didn't chew well enough. I didn't pb though. Audree, how much is that slim quick or quick slim? I think maybe I should try it for a month or so. I was bad tonight and had some Halloween candy. I hate it when I can't resist the sweets.

    Slow Losers - Unite!

My gym has a great weight machine that has really taken inches off my thighs. It's kind of like sitting in the thing at the GYN office. It's kind of hard to explain. You lean back, and push out with your legs. I have the weight set pretty high, 110 lbs. I have lost 3" in my thighs from that and the leg press. Do you vary the resistance on the elliptical?
  21. I am not ashamed. They are a good escape for me. I can watch my soaps and not really think about things that bother me in my own life.

    Holy cow, WASa!

I am not completely crazy about them either. They taste really salty and they are pretty high in calories.

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

I agree totally. Carbs will make you crave sugar.

What kind of cardio do you do? I use the treadmill, the elliptiKILL and the stair master. Sometimes I do 15 or 20 min on each, sometimes I will do one machine for 45 min. You should vary the resistance. Like on the ellpitiKILL, I do level 9 for 2 min, then level 10 for 2 min. then 11 for 2 min. The treadmill, I also change the mph. I will go for 3.5 for 5 min. and move the incline up and down, then jog for 1 min at 5 mph. see what I am getting at? You can't do the same thing the entire time on any of the machines. Do you go to the library at all? There is great book called Body for Life. You could probably get a used copy at Amazon, but I am a big fan of the library.

    Assisted Suicide/Interesting Reading

I think ( not completely sure) that Oregon is the only state that assisted suicide is legal.
