A thread for Single Bandsters
Oregondaisy replied to NewBeginnings2018's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's great profile. But from what I have read in profile reviews, it needs to be shorter. Put some of your interests that you have in the main body up in the interests section. Otherwise, I think it's great and you are already on a bunch of people's favorites list. Participate in the forums when you have time. A lot of the people that I read about, get to know each other in the forums and then have an interest to meet. -
A thread for Single Bandsters

When I went on the one date I did have since I have been banded, I told him I had a late lunch and ordered a bowl of soup. I didn't want to have any problems and have to run to the bathroom, so I played it safe. If I ever met anyone that I thought I would be spending a lot of time with, I would tell him. -
How is weight loss for people over 50?
Oregondaisy replied to debi717's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Aw shucks. Thanks for saying that. I have been fighting the same 2 or 3 lbs for the past two months. I can't seem to get below 160. I don't want to get another fill though, because I hate it so much when food gets stuck. Since I still get food stuck, that tells me I am tight enough. I wish chocolate would get stuck and make me pb every time. There's nothing like aversion therapy. I got so sick when I tried to eat a piece of pizza, I don't think I'll ever try it again. -
Editing isn't that bad. It's more complicated than it used to be though. Do you know how to do it and get rid of all the smiley faces?

I really love John Edward. I loved reading his book. I had a reading with Sylvia Brown's son and not one thing he told me was right. It was a huge waste of money. I had a reading with a lady that used to live here. I wish she hadn't moved to Texas. She told me all about my children before they were born. She told me what they would look like, that I would have a daughter first, and then a son. She had their personalities exactly right. This was years before I had kids. I am a sucker for psychics. -

You're so lucky to be tall. I always wish I was taller. -

I go through a lot less ketchup since banding. I used to put it on everything, but now I have practically given up cooking. I am surprised I haven't tried putting it in a protein shake. -
Did anyone see DR OZ on Oprah yesterday?
Oregondaisy replied to peaches9's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That's a good question. I saw him drink it, and I didn't pay attention to the ingredients either. I am wondering too, why this drink is supposed to be so wonderful for us. -
I end up reading a lot of LBT and I think I am only going to spend half an hour here but it turns out to be the entire evening. I read more than I post. Some days I am in the mood to read all the newbies complaints. Those websites mentioned sound great. I am going to ck them out when I am really bored on the weekends.

Good carbs are whole grains, beans, fruit. Fruit in a limited amount. Bad carbs are pasta, rice, white bread, noodles, potatoes basically anything that is white except for califlower. Do a google search on the gylcemic (sp?) index. There is also an old thread on the South Beach diet. You could do a thread search on that. That diet is really good. It talks about good fats too, and which carbs you can have.

For those six months after band surgery
Oregondaisy replied to WASaBubbleButt's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I wonder why mine is still falling out at 10 months. I take every supplement anyone has recommended, and I make sure I get enough protein. -

How tall are you Dibaby? I just noticed your goal is 199. That's not very far from where I started out. I am only 5'2" though. Sounds like you are really having fun! -

How do you "doctor" your cottage cheese?
Oregondaisy replied to crikkit's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The problem with cottage cheese (now that I have learned to eat it) is that it doesn't stay with me very long. I am hungry really soon after eating it. It's more of a treat, now that I mix it with yogurt. -

That really pi$$ed me off when I couldn't get anything to come up on here. I guess I would have to say I am addicted to LBT -

Oh, that's a hard one! I hate Christmas music and Rap.....Thank goodness they only play Christmas music for about a month. I would have to kill someone if it were in the stores all year long! At least I can get away from Rap pretty easily. -
We all have set backs. We can all get back on the bandwagon and go back to losing. My binges don't last nearly as long as they did pre-band. If I have a bad day, I make sure I am right back the next day following all the rules. In the past, its was always "I'll start again on Monday"

I wish I had someone in my life to try out all these little tricks! -
I didn't gain any weight from eating Cookies all day yesterday. I was very good today and followed all the bandster rules, and did a lot of exercise this morning. I want that ticker to move!

You are all right. Carbs are the enemy. The more you eat them, the more you crave them. I can't lose at all if if let them sneak back into my diet. I am not talking about carbs from fruit, just the bad white carbs.

Oh I plan on forging right ahead and getting the rest of my weight off. I don't care how long it takes me. I am going to talk to my trainer when I see him on friday since I am stuck on another plateau. I think my body is much too used to my exercise routine.
-
Are you exercising? Are you eating a lot of carbs? I can't lose at all if I eat many carbs. I also have to exercise like crazy in order to lose. I haven't lost anything now in a couple of months. I am going to talk to my trainer friday and find out what he says about how to break a plateau.

Yeah, I can't wait until I get some more weight off. then maybe I can get a decent full body picture posted. I wish there were ways to meet men in my age group IRL. I think guys think the online thing is like a kid in a candy store for the guys. So many profiles, they just click next. I wish I had a more snappy upbeat profile. I am not very good about writing about myself. -
POLL Does Everyone Lose Their Hair??
Oregondaisy replied to KariK's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I will get some of the sublingual vit B. I already take a B complex. I already take Biotin. I should take more of it though. It says you can take it 3x per day. I only take it once. My trash can in the bathroom looks like a hairdresser's does after she cuts people's hair all day long. I have to sweep it up every day. This is in addition to the handfuls that come out in the shower every day. I've heard it stops at 11 months, so I will let everyone know as soon an mine stops, if it ever does.
