Recovery Time//Time Off From Work
Oregondaisy replied to parrot0927's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on a Friday and went back to work the next Tuesday. I could have gone back on Monday, but it was New Year's day. I would have had no problem what so ever going back if it hadn't been a holiday. I have a desk job too. -
I hope someone is able to answer these questions. I know the bodybugg is very expensive and I don't even know how much less the acti trainer is. I would like to know what the difference is too.

A thread for Single Bandsters
Oregondaisy replied to NewBeginnings2018's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Okay, Dibaby, I changed my profile to dating and took out the part about friends. I seriously doubt that it will make much difference. I have used yahoo personals and match.com and can never get anyone to answer my emails. It makes me feel pretty crumby. Guys my age want women as young as possible. I wish I knew where to meet people in my age group IRL. I am going to get more pictures as soon as I can. I need to get together with my friend and go out and take a bunch and find one I can live with. She has been really busy lately because she is self employed and her it's her busy time right now. My daughter took some and they look like cr@p so I think my friend is better at taking pictures. -

I Am This Close To Goal As Of Today!!!
Oregondaisy replied to Donna's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
What do you do when you crave sweets? I keep fighting the same 5 lbs because I just get so tired of eating the right things and I want ice cream or cookies. Then I gain a few lbs and get mad at myself for gaining, and start following the rules. -
had my first "stuck" experience today...
Oregondaisy replied to Saintluver's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Walking helps. Walk around with your arms up in the air and put your chin up and stretch. Sometimes if I get stuck in a restaurant, I walk into the bathroom and stick my ams up in the air, and I can feel it pass through. If that doesn't work, you may as well figure that it's going to come up. If your mouth fill up with water, don't swallow it. Spit it out. -
Please share your tips for battling head hunger.
Oregondaisy replied to bandster_1007's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You can chew gum. You're just not supposed to swallow it. I chew gum sometimes when I am trying not to eat. Head hunger really is hard. Sometimes I really crave sweets. If I don't eat them, I don't crave them as much. I try to eat mainly Protein and veggies and the head hunger isn't as bad. I don't keep junk food in the house. I eat sugar free popcicles in the evening which are like 10 calories. -
A place for bandsters in their 60's

Hey that's great Marilyn. That means you made it through the liquid stage! Just give me a call anytime. There are a lot of foods you can have during the mushy stage. You don't have to worry about stretching your pouch at this time because you have no fill and the food will go right down to your stomach. Either call me or send me a private message. Next week, Tues. Dr. Tersigini will be speaking at support group. There won't be a meeting the week of Thanksgiving. -

What would you like to know about my wonderful doctor? Where do you live? I can tell you anything you want to know about him. I have referred a lot of people to him and they are all very happy that he did their surgery. -

I don't have a cat or a fish. I have a dog. She loves the lap band because she gets all the foods that I try to eat and end up in her dish. It's because my new stomach, the esophagus, gets full really fast on 1/3 of a cup of food. -
Face work - how to find a surgeon?
Oregondaisy replied to TerriDoodle's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I watch All My Children. I have watched it since it started. I had no idea that face lift cost that much. I was thinking it was more like10,000 I am going to have to wait a long time and maybe I will inherit some money. That's a lot of money! -
I am doing well. I exercise at the gym every day except Mon. I can't seem to drop below 160. This is the 2nd time I have been on a plateau that lasted 2 months. I have faith I can make the scale move again.

I want to get a face lift too. I have no idea what they cost. Can someone give me a ball park idea at what I am looking at ? I hate the way my face and neck look now that I have lost the weight. -

When I was eating today, it felt like the food was stuck in my esophagus. That's okay, right? Because isn't the esophagus the new stomach after the band? Isn't it the pouch? -
I am really interested in getting one too. I can't afford one right now, with Christmas coming. Is it like the body bugg where you have to log a bunch of stuff into the computer?

How is weight loss for people over 50?
Oregondaisy replied to debi717's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I do have a lot of muscle in my legs. I am happy with the way my legs look. I have lost 3" in my thighs. I just wish I could get those last 15 lbs off. I just can't seem to get below 160. I am hoping eventually, the scale will start moving again. -

I've been trying to get some more pictures on there. I haven't found one that I liked well enough to put on there. In the full body shots, I still look so fat. -
How is weight loss for people over 50?
Oregondaisy replied to debi717's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes I exercise all the time. I go to the gym every day except for Mondays. I do weight training, I work with a trainer, and I do plenty of cardio. I have been going to the gym and working out for a long time before I ever even got the band. Usually what happens with me is that I won't lose for a couple of months, then all of a sudden, I will lose 5 lbs. Through out this past year, I never lost every single month, after the first month. -

I would also say average in the weight! You don't look a few extra lbs at all anymore! You could add must not be married to contact you. I forget where the settings are for that. I have not must be married or looking for an intimate encounter. I wish you and some of the others would look at my profile and give me some feedback too. My name is Oregondaisy, if you put the looking for a woman 55 in the zip code 97420 in, you should be able to find it. I don't know how to make links.
