You guys crack me up. I can barely figure out how to do a ticker let alone add something else. I will have to ask for help whenever I get around to losing some more so I can even update my ticker. So I am no superior oldie. I am a dummy.

Do you ever get frustrated with band babies?

That's a great idea. -
I hate it when people post just to post.....

I love whole cranberries. They grow them around here. I can't even imagine ruining them by frying them. -
A body bug is a little gadget that tells you how many calories you are burning and you have to log your food into the computer to see if you are burning more than you are eating. I am sure there are other features to it too. You can do a thread search on bodybug. There are a lot of threads about it and I am sure someone else can tell you more about it. It's too expensive for me. It's about $300 I think.

Are you new? Do you have questions? Come in here!

It's funny how different doctors have completely different ideas of what you are supposed to be eating after surgery. I had to be on liquids for four full weeks after surgery before I could move to soft foods. Where do you live in Arizona? -

Great idea starting this thread! Alexandra moved the FAQ to the top of the board, too. -

I am happy for you Manatee, Dibaby, Arria. Dating takes practice. Even if you don't click with the person, it's good practice! I have been emailing with a couple of people from EHarmony. I hope I end up meeting them. -
Audree, right after the first of the year, I will be ordering the Quick Slim.

How is weight loss for people over 50?
Oregondaisy replied to debi717's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am about to put myself back on the liquid diet. My fridge is almost empty. After Thanksgiving, I am doing liquid protein shakes. I refuse to gain weight between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It's so easy to be on liquids anyway. I never have to think about what's for lunch, or making myself anything. After the first day, I am not hungry at all. -
For those six months after band surgery
Oregondaisy replied to WASaBubbleButt's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am at 11 months out and I think it's starting to slow down. Some days I only lose a little when I wash my hair, but there are other days where I still lose a bunch. But at least I am not losing bunches every single time I wash my hair. -

Some doctors don't tell their patients very much at all. All the FAQ need to be BOLD or in a different color right there after introductions. -
Rants and Raves become NOT for newbies
Oregondaisy replied to losingjusme's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
I don't see why the FAQ and the Abbreviations and what they mean cant be bold or in another color or something so they would stand out. Stand out so much that they glare in the Introductions area where it says Post Op Questions. -

Sarah, I feel bad for you. It's so nice in Southern CA. The weather in Oregon really stinks sometimes. It's a lot warmer in Portland though in the summer than it is where I live. If I ever get to Portland area, I would love to meet you too. It's Aloha near Portland? -
I eat sugar free fudgsicles, sugar free popcicles only have 10 calories. I sometimes eat sugar free pudding but it doesn't taste all that sweet to me. It's better than nothing sometimes. Plus I love yogurt and they are sweet and good for you if you get the non fat light which has carbs from the milk, but some of them have no sugar added.

Good grief! I have been emailing with a guy all evening (which I wouldn't have had the nerve to do if I hadn't lost weight) so I haven't checked new posts. Now I have an entire thread to read! One of the first things he asked me was if I was overweight. Men! I sent him a picture and let him be the judge of that. Okay, post on and I will catch up! BTW, I can't wait to see you again when I come to AZ. I am going to stay longer so we can spend more time together.

Do you ever get frustrated with band babies?
Oregondaisy replied to TamifromAL's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, that's the post of Wendall's that I read on OH. I don't know why he didn't title it 101 or 102. It has a lot of great information on it. -

Oregondaisy replied to TamifromAL's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think the first one of the links that you posted of Wendall's is his lap band 101 . And gummie is right about doctors not giving their patients enough information. Heck she was told right after surgery to eat whatever as long as it wasn't fried ( I believe that's what she wrote, I will have to go back and re-read that.) It's one of WasA 's biggest pet peeve. I really do wish that the section for FAQ was bold. I just happened to be a person that read and read before I posted. I am usually a lurker on boards and not a poster. This is really the only board that I actually do a lot of posting on. -

I don't know why the search by user didn't bring up Wendall's post. I can't remember what he titled it. -

Okay, now I am going to search for Wendall's post and make an attempt to copy paste and hope that will make a link for Gummie. This isn't even in Rants and Raves, so I think she has a very valid point. Any new person is going to want to read in the At or Near Goal section to be inspired that the band can work. -

I sent you a private message. You are right in the fact that new people and even people who have had their band for almost a year need support. We are all actually very friendly people here, but we do get frustrated at times with people who don't want to follow their doctor's advice, and with doctors who don't even give advice. Look for a post by Wendall Edwards that says something about everything you need to know about the band. Can someone make a link for this nice person? I am pretty computer illiterate so I don't even know how to make a link. -

Oh that's a good idea. We have pop up windows at work that are a great feature to remind us to do one tiny little thing that messes everything up if you forget this detail. I would think that a pop up window that you are in RnR and enter at your own risk would solve everything. -
I wonder how they can lose so much weight in a week too. I keep telling my trainer to watch it. They must exercise from morning to night.

How is weight loss for people over 50?
Oregondaisy replied to debi717's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have had a hard time finding that correct amount of fill. It's a pretty fine line between having too much and not having enough. I am not beating myself up. I know that I have the band and I can make it work. I know what makes it work. I know a lady that lost most of her weight the second year of having the band. I am really thankful that this holiday season I do have my band. I plan on losing between Thanksgiving and Christmas, not gaining. -
