It was a bust. I was not the least bit attracted to him. bummer. The ones I am attracted to are not attracted to me, and the ones that are attracted to me, I am not attracted to. I can keep hoping though.

Oh that is horrible news! I will definitely keep him in my prayers. I wonder if WasAbubblebutt knows. She is a friend of his.

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Sure! What does that involve? I go to the gym most days. I am trying really hard not to gain over the next few days. There will be a lot of food around Christmas eve and Christmas day. I did very well yesterday at a party at one of my relatives house. I just had some veggies and dip and ignored all the rest of the junk. I was happy with myself.

No, I did not make myself throw up. The pizza got stuck and I couldn't get it all up. It stayed stuck and kept throwing up a little bit at a time until it all finally got cleared and it finally stopped. I was in pain and I was miserable.

Am I too tight? Please help...

The way you can tell if you are too tight is you will start to get heartburn, especially when you lay down. Usually fills will loosen some after about a week. If after a week you feel like you can hardly get food down, you might need a tiny unfill. You're supposed to be able to eat solid Protein. Solid like chicken. You have to chew very well though. If you stay on liquids for a week until it loosens, then try solids and throw up after a week of waiting to try solids, then you need an unfill.

    Biggest Loser

I think they have inspired me to go to the gym more than once a day. I always go in the morning but there is no reason in the world that at least on the weekends, I could go again in the evenings. They work out for hours. It really pays off. I want to get this weight loss going!

Who have you had enough of ??

I have had way too much of Martha Stewart. I forgot whether or not I posted that on this thread. I wish she would go away forever. That would be a good thing.

How is weight loss for people over 50?

I am excited that I am down 2 lbs . I was stuck on another plateau and now the scale finally moved. Usually when that happens I go down 5 lbs and then stall again for awhile.
  10. I have started eating prunes. I am supposed to eat fruit and I never remember to even buy it. I am drinking protein drinks to try to break through my plateau. So I will be on protein drinks and prunes and prune juice.

I have done aversion therapy with pizza. I had a piece of pizza a few months ago. I threw up for 2 solid hours. Makes me never ever want to try pizza again.

How the Lap-Band actually works, fills and refills

I am not far from you at all, on the Oregon coast. Is Dr. Tersigni one of your band surgeon friends? How much do you charge for fills? Do you do blind fills?

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Audree as soon as I get paid around the middle of January, I will be contacting you for the quickslim. I need a little help to get the rest of this off. I am at 158 this am. I am happy I dropped a couple after being on a plateau for 2 months.

    A thread for Single Bandsters

I am at 158 this morning. I am going to meet someone I have been talking to from one of the dating sites this weekend. I hope it goes well. It ought to be interesting. He is very short and barely as tall as me. 5'2" . I think that's going to be weird, but not fair to write him off for that reason. I hate it when guys are so weight conscience so I don't think I should let height be an issue. I will let everyone know how it goes..

    Slow Losers - Unite!

Yesterday I finally lost 2 lbs . I worked out at the gym really hard. Then a fiend of mine invited me over and it turned out she made chocolate fondue. Of course, I couldn't resist. I am going to plan evenings out from now on until I reach my goa, that don't involve food of any kind. I will ask ahead of time if there will be food there. I use lap band talk when I am craving something. I can come here and spend hours reading posts and not think about eating, just how I want to be determined to get the rest of this off. I think after the first of the year, I am going to go to the gym twice a day, for about 3 days out of the week.

I am not sure of band sizes and fills either. I know mine holds 4ccs and I have almost 3 in there now, and I have good restriction finally. I wish chocolate would get stuck and make me puke. That's my biggest downfall.

    Biggest Loser

I was going to post that too. The older guy that took off his shirt had some loose skin on his stomach. I was impressed with everyone's arms. That's a problem for me. I don't want flabby skin hanging off my arms. I really hope I can keep building muscles and fill some of that skin out with muscles.

    So...what's up with SALAD?

I usually can have salad, but I had trouble with it today. I had a lot of raw veggies in there, and got stuck. I did chew really well too. I have a new fill so I have to learn to slow down and take much smaller bites.
  19. How do you block someone's posts? I am not happy that that thread got locked because I really wanted people to read it and learn to make paragraphs so that posts were easy to read. I really feel like if someone has something to say, and I feel it's important enough that I want to read it, I will read it. I don't want to struggle though with a whole screen full of letters and having to try to keep my place. That was my point.

Stress can definitely cause the band to be tighter. If you're throwing up a lot, you should have a little taken out.

You can chew gum. I chew gum all the time. It keeps me from eating. You can't swallow gum. But who swallows it anyway. Maybe I did when I was a little kid, but I haven't in years. That's too bad you don't like the Protein drinks. I really like Atkins chocolate. I think it tastes great.

How the Lap-Band actually works, fills and refills

Hi Dr. Watkins, First I would like to say how much we appreciate that you come here and are so informative and helpful. We are lucky to have you here! I read on another post where you were talking about a leak. I am afraid I have one. I got a fill and it was too much, so my doctor said he was going to take some out and leave 2.75 cc's in a 4cc band. I just got another one last week ( 2 months later,) and he was only able to pull out 2.0 before he did the fill. He said it does not necessarily mean I have a leak. I had great restriction the first few days after this last fill. Now, not so much. Is it because when you get a fill, there is some swelling? Is there any way to find out if I have a leak other than the next time I go for another fill and check and see what's left in there? That is how I got overfilled to begin with. He thought I had a leak so he put me up over 3.0 and I was miserable. That was when he moved me down to 2.75. He was able to pull out all of it out that time, when he left the 2.75 in there. Is there any other way that he is not able to pull all of it out, rather than some of it leaked out? Is it possible to not get the entire fill in the band when doing a fill? I could really test it out and try to eat something that I can't normally eat with a good fill, but I don't want to do that and risk throwing up. __________________ banded 12-29-06 by Dr. Steven Tersini in Coos Bay Oregon

Yes, getting the right fill makes all the difference in the world. Unfortunately, even a tight fill will let ice cream through. That's my big downfall. I can only be good for so long until I freak out and have to have chocolate of some sort. I wish chocolate would get stuck. I had pizza once and spent two hours throwing up. It makes me not want to ever try pizza again. I would be happy if chocolate did that.
  24. I can't believe my thread got locked. Nobody was even calling each other names in there.
