My daughter gets very upset with me for wearing clothes that are too big. I have started shopping at Goodwill. I found some very cute tops there for $2. I can't keep up with all the new clothes I need and not knowing how long they will fit.

yep, Andrew Weil ( I think I have spelled that right) and Dr. Oz, several doctors have said that not enough fiber in the diet is very dangerous for the colon. sorry. -
How the Lap-Band actually works, fills and refills
Oregondaisy replied to Wendell Edwards's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
:whoo:Sometimes it even takes more than 3 fills. It took me nearly a year to get it right. One of the reasons I am close to goal is from an overfill. I could hardly eat for a month. I knew that was dangerous so I got an unfill. There went all of my restriction. I got another fill at the beginning of Dec. which is nearly a year from having my surgery and I am finally at the right spot. It's very frustrating.:whoo::whoo: -
Oh, tell us what her wish is! I have a friend who is very involved in the Make a Wish organization. I got a letter today from the Child Support Enforcement Dept. here in Oregon. My boyfriend and I broke up a couple of years ago because he wanted to quit his job so he could stop having his wages garnished.I kicked him out. Now he lives with his Mommy (at 55 yrs of age) The letter wasn't sealed. It was asking for his address and other information. I am going to call the lady in the letter and give her his Mom's address and telephone #. Like I said, I hate dead beat dads. I hope the information that was pmed to you is of some help!

They say the body can't lose weight if it thinks it's being starved. Maybe you're not eating enough. Can you try getting a protein shake in every day? Others have said that got them losing again.

No Fiber 1? Isn't that just a high fiber Cereal? I have taken Metimucil. My doctor even recommended it. Isn't it crazy how all doctors are different. I eat prunes. They are tasty. I worry a lot because not enough fiber in the diet causes colon cancer. That's the last thing in the world I want later in life. -
Quickslim 30----opions?? ( input )
Oregondaisy replied to 2BBANDED's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Okay, I saw Audree's post on another thread and the one she uses is Quickslim30. You have to get it online. It's not the one they advertise on tv. Anyone who wants info on this do a thread search for BabyGotBack, then you can send her a private message. -
Pin up Shoto Shoot??

I can't wait to see them. I need to go back and read this whole thread over again. I can't remember what you decided. I hope you have them taken soon though because I am very impatient to see them! -
I have been complaining lately that all my shoes are too big. It's nice to lose weight but I am not enjoying the fact that everything I own is too big. I don't even know what size underwear to buy. I don't think you're supposed to try those on. I need a new coat, a new nightgown, new shoes, and Santa did not come through!

Do YOU have excess skin ??
Oregondaisy replied to AppleSmith1226's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am pretty lucky that I don't have much sagging skin on my belly. I expect to have more when I lose my last 10 lbs. I do have it on my arms that I absolutely hate and I would love to get a face lift. Luckily, my clothes cover up my arms most of the time. I would never wear a tank top or anything like that. -
Poll: Do you miss diet soda?
Oregondaisy replied to Anyalee's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I don't miss diet pop at all. I haven't had any in over a year. My dr. wants me to tdrink 64oz of Water per day, and I can't drink anything else in order to get the water in. It makes it tricky when you can't drink for an hour. I don't drink crystal light because I believe it has aspertane in it, and I have read too many things about how horrible that stuff is on the body. -
Well that sucks for sure. The collection agencies should start hounding him instead of you! I hope your daughter gets some help with specialists. She's so young to be going through this.

It would seem that all of this will come up at court. Can't a judge order him to make sure her medical bills get paid, if he has her on his insurance? I'm sorry to hear all about this. I hate dead beat dads.

Quickslim 30----opions?? ( input )
Oregondaisy replied to 2BBANDED's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's funny. On Tv they advertise QuickSlim and Audree swears by SlimQuick. I am not sure if I have that backwards. I don't know which one is which, but Audree swears that the one she takes is better and doesn't contain the same ingredients. She sent me the ingredients once. Her's is all Chinese Herbs. -
Congratulations on everyone who is so close to their goal!! I have a question. Does anyone ever worry that the band is too good to be true, and this will all be taken away? I keep asking my doctor how long someone can live with the band and he says there aren't enough people who have had it long term to know that. What is that old expression? Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. I swear, if anything happens to my band, I will have to get a sleeve or something. I don't know where I will get the money, but I refuse to go back to where I was if I ever lost my band. I wish I wasn't such a worrier.

I go to the gym every day except Mondays. Mondays are my long day at work. I do an hour of cardio on the weekends. I usually do 20 min. on the elliptical, 20 min on the stair master and 20 min on the treadmill, alternating between walking fast and jogging. I also do a bunch of different weight machines, and some stuff with the free weights that my trainer taught me. I can't wait until I can afford him again. I miss working out with him. I ate more dinner than I should have today. It was at 4:00 and now it's 6:00 and I still feel so full that I am uncomfortable. I can't wait for the holidays to be over!

Blowing It With Christmas Goodies
Oregondaisy replied to lapedtolive's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It really is true. I ate Christmas dinner with 10 people who do not know I have the band. I was really worried food would get stuck. I did really well and I am so full and I hardly ate anything. But I did manage to eat 3 pieces of fudge. I am glad the holidays are almost over. I hope by this time next year, food will not be the same kind of obsession. -

Blowing It With Christmas Goodies
Oregondaisy replied to lapedtolive's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I will always be addicted to sweets. I just ordered a book called the Beck Diet Solution-Learn to eat and think like a thin person. I hope it helps me. It's supposed to have methods in there to teach us how to cope with all the foods we need to avoid. It's terrible to be like an alcoholic in a bar every time I leave the house. I am fine in the house because I don't keep junk around. When I leave the house, I have no willpower when I see sweets. I know that after the holidays, I can get back on track. I am trying really hard not to gain over this next week. Between Christmas, my friend's birthday, & new years, I have the capability to gain about 10 lbs in a week if I am not careful. It will take me a couple of months to lose what I can gain in a week. I will be exercising my brains out but I am sure I will end up gaining something, but I have to be strong and get it off as soon as possible. I hate the guilt I feel when I eat sweets. -
Bad Christmas Eve today - total PBs.
Oregondaisy replied to juliegeraci's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I always stick to liquids if I start a pb episode. Once you pb, going right back to solids starts a cycle of more pbs. I have always been advised to stick to liquids for 24 hours after a pb. If it's not too bad of one, I will do liquids for at least most of the rest of the day if it's early in the day. If it's a bad one, I try not to eat and let everything rest for a couple of hours before even trying liquids. -
A thread for Single Bandsters
Oregondaisy replied to NewBeginnings2018's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Chrispy, I am so glad you checked in. I figured your new relationship was keeping you busy. I hope you have found someone who is going to be THE ONE! Merry Christmas everyone! I hope all of us lose all the lbs we want in 2008! -
You need to get some saline taken out. Waiting until next week is not a good idea. Isn't there another doctor that you can get into? What about the ER in a hospital?

Dr. Watkins, I have been wondering if you know Dr. Tersigni, since you are both in the Pacific Northwest. I know, not on topic:cry

How is weight loss for people over 50?
Oregondaisy replied to debi717's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I haven't been able to get the smiley central ones to work on my computer. I had them for awhile, and then they disappeared from my tool bar. I haven't been able to get them back. -
Sounds like you didn't chew well enough. take little tiny bites and chew until there is nothing left to chew.
