  1. My band is a 10 CC band, but that's how big around it is, not how much it holds. It holds 4ccs and I am at 2.75 and that's perfect for me.

    A thread for Single Bandsters

I like Plenty of Fish. I really enjoy the forums. They have all sorts of conversations going on there. I live in a depressed area, and although there are a lot of profiles on Match, Yahoo Personals, E Harmony, nobody has paid the fee. When I joined any of those, I had no way of knowing if the reason they didn't respond was because in order to get their message, they had to hand over their credit card. I get a lot of messages from Plenty of Fish, but they all live to far away. I liked E harmony. I liked the idea of actually being matched to someone who would be a good match for me. But they were all too far away. Plus the same problem, they would send me a match, but if the person didn't pay, we couldn't write to each other.
  3. Mine hadn't hurt for awhile and then yesterday I got food stuck. I was really trying to avoid a pb, but I noticed that my left shoulder started hurting. Eventually, whatever was stuck moved through, but my shoulder continued to hurt all evening.

    Slow Losers Unite!

Candy, the band can be very frustrating. I remember when I first got banded being so disappointed because I wasn't losing like other people. It's really hard to wait in between fills. The main thing that keeps me losing even if I need a fill is not eating many carbs and exercising. BUT- I can go on plateaus that last months and it's extremely frustrating. I have to remember that I would be heavier by now than I was the day I had surgery. That is what keeps me motivated.

Taking Suggestions for NEW LBT Features!

Thanks! I finally did discover that last night after fooling around with all the buttons to see what they do.

    Wow. Aggressive fill.

Yeah, I had great weight loss when I was too tight. I was smart enough to know that it would lead to losing my band, and that wasn't worth it. I went in for an unfill, and totally lost restriction. That's better than losing the band though! It took me a year to get to my "sweet spot"
  7. What does your doctor say about this. It does sound like you need your port replaced. If you have the port removed, more than likely you'll have the band removed too, won't you?

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Sometimes I feel like I am bulimic. I have to admit that sometimes when I end up throwing up my meal, I think to myself "I didn't need those calories anyway"

I'm concerned and need some feedback

It can take a couple years or 3 years for a band to slip. You will never know if you band slipped because it didn't heal right on your stomach from eating too soon. At least if you follow the post op diet, and you eventually slip, you will know you did everything right and it's not your fault that the band slipped. My doctor had me on 4 solid weeks of a liquid diet, and 2 weeks of mushies after that.

Alex, Are we going to get the new posts button back?

    Will pills get stuck?

Walmart does have them. They even have their own brand, which I think it called Spring Valley. They are less expensive than the Viactive brand.
  12. Oregondaisy

    Wow. Aggressive fill.

Just take it easy. Make sure you cut meat up the size of a pencil eraser. Chew it until there is nothing left to chew. Then wait before taking another bite, so you can tell if it's stuck. Eat very slowly. If you lose a little bit, you'll lose fat around your stomach and the band will loosen. If you continue to pb eating slowly and taking itty bitty bites, you might need to have a tiny bit of saline taken out.

    Wow. Aggressive fill.

It stands for productive burp. Sometimes it is like a burp, and food comes with it. More often than that, it's BB Bandster Barfing. Food gets stuck, won't go through the band, and you barf it up. The difference with a PB is, it kind of just pops out. With Bandster Barfing, you will have a lot of saliva come up and your mouth waters, and this can go on and on, until if finally comes up. That's what they call sliming.

    Calling WasA!

You are missing in action and I am ranting that I miss you. We need you in R & R!

    Stupid thing to rant over.

All my shoes are too big. I never knew you lose weight in your feet either.

    Menopause HELP Please!

I use bioidentical hormones. They are supposed to be closest to what our body produces. My patch is called the vivelle dot. It's estridol. I also take Prometrium, which is progesterone. Those studies were all done on an HRT that was made from a pregnant horse's urine. I went through a couple of years where I was getting absolutely no sleep and decided the quality of life is worth the risk. My gyn says that the bioidentical hormones are safe. I hope she is right.

    A "pb"

You can tell immediately when food is stuck. It feels exactly like food is stuck in your esophagus, and won't go down. You can sometimes sit there and wait, and hope it will go down. You can also tell when it's time to head to the nearest rest room. I was stuck pretty badly yesterday at a friend's house. She doesn't know I am banded. I keep papaya tablets in my purse. I just kept chewing them, and eventually, it went down. Sometimes, they will dissolve what is stuck, but it takes awhile. I fed the rest of my dinner to my dog while she wasn't looking.

    Tom Cruise..scientology...no Comment...

I actually have a book somewhere in my attic written by LRon Hubbard. I should drag it out for curiosity sake. I think I must have gotten it at a yard sale.
  19. Oregondaisy

    Wow. Aggressive fill.

Lauren, I bet you will loosen up. You're doing the right thing. If I pb, I go on liquids for the rest of the day. Once we pb, things inside are irritated and eating solid food makes the problem worse. I have always been told to go on liquids for 24 hours after a pb

A place for bandsters in their 60's

That should do it. The only reason there was no thread under 60's is because nobody started one.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

Well I hope they come back. I miss them. I am glad you're back!

    A thread for Single Bandsters

Piggie, I went into the chat room and couldn't find it. There was the lap band lounge and another one, but not that one. Manatee, thanks that sounds great!

I hate it when people post just to post.....

Lauren, I was afraid you were gone. It seems like some of the regulars are MIA. I haven't seen chickie post, or Jacqui, WasA, Carlene seems to be gone for good. Where is everyone, inquiring minds want to know.

    Large Penis Posts

Whoever keeps posting their link on the thread for singles for penis enlargements, please stop. We are mostly women who don't give a hoot about the size of one's penis

    Where's the gang?

I am back to asking "Where is everybody?" Lauren's post was from Sept. I am wondering what's up with all the missing people................
