Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Walmart has them too. I like them cause it's a pill I don't have to worry about swallowing and hope doesn't get stuck.

NJgirl, that really stinks that a doctor won't take you for a fill if he didn't do your surgery. My doctor does fills for people even if he didn't do the surgery. I hope you can get that gazelle. It sounds like just what you need. You can try taking a short walk and see if it bothers you anywhere. I have back problems too. My back hurts all the time but I use the elliptical and that doesn't seem to make it hurt any worse at least, unless I do it for over 45 minutes. Congratulations on your wedding date!

PigsR, Did you ever go on that date you were thinking about but worrying about losing 20 lbs first? I have been wondering about that, and how it went if you did. How did you manage to break your plateau? I have been stuck on one too! Manatee, I don't know why your ex felt the need to see you to tell you this. This could have been done in an email, if she felt you really needed to know. Maybe she heard you're looking smokin hot and she wanted to see for herself!
  4. All the lower BMI people, our old thread is closed and we need to be here to stay in touch!

    Lower BMI'ers--2008!!!

There is no way I could eat bread. I wouldn't even try it. I hate throwing up. I hate it when food is stuck. It hurts. I stick to foods that are band friendly now rather than try something that is going to cause pain and eventually spend a bunch of time throwing up.

Was anyone banded in December of '06?

You should join us in the 50's and over thread. We have a great support system there!

yea, If a guy asks me to dinner I always suggest Chinese. Then I order a big bowl of egg flower soup. I say I had a late lunch. I hate eating around people who don't know. It's stressful. But I am not about to tell anyone else that doesn't know. If I ever found a long term relationship, I would eventually tell him. Thanks JC! I have a feeling it's going to be really hard to lose this last 10. It's okay though. I am so much happier at the weight I am now. I hope I can get to that goal, but sometimes it feels like it will never happen. As long as I am not gaining, I am thrilled.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I always get Water with no ice if I go anywhere to eat. At home I drink everything warm. Yes, warm things open the band. I try not to ever drink anything cold.

Size 6! Way to go! I will never be a size 6 again. I am sure it's going to take me forever to lose this last 10 lbs. I will be lucky if I don't gain anything while I am visiting my dad. He doesn't know I got the band and he likes to eat dinner out every evening. It's his only entertainment. Plus he has so much junk food in his house. I am going to have to find a gym while I am there. I can't go two weeks with no exercise.
  10. I doubt if the heating pad or quitting the pain meds have anything to do with the heaves. Your stomach needs to rest. Try to take liquids in very slowly. I find warm cammomile tea with spenda helps me when I feel nauseous. Getting a prescription for nausea meds is a good idea too. If you can't get them down, you'll have to do a supository.

Lower BMI thread (I guess we got moved!)

How old are you though? People who are younger can get away with being at the lower end of the weight range. My metabolism is so slow, I am sure if I picked a lower goal, I would be constantly be feeling depressed because I couldn't get there, let alone stay there!

Oh JC, you have been through so much! I am sorry to hear about that. I am very to happy to hear about your GF though! That's so cool! I hope she likes to be as active and athletic as you are! I am glad you didn't lose the band completely though. I wonder how you lost those stitches? I hope you're feeling better soon.

    Lower BMI'ers--2008!!!

Doing good! I had a horrible episode with eating steak a week or so ago. I thought for sure I was going to have to go in and get unfilled. I couldn't stop throwing up. I have been a lot more careful with cutting my meat tiny and chewing forever since then. I haven't lost anything, but that's the way my body seems to work. Big long plateaus, then I will drop again. I hope I lose something again soon! Are you still at goal?

    Crud - I swallowed a piece of gum :-(

Well that's good news! I hope this fill is a good one for you. I would go nuts if I didn't chew gum. I will be very careful after your experience though! I am so glad you finally got rid of it!

I hate it when the judges say no and they stand there and argue with them. What do they think? They actually think they can change the judge's minds!

I hate it when people post just to post.....

It's not all that easy to poop these days.

Lower BMI thread (I guess we got moved!)

My goal weight is high. I am 55 years old. I am only 5'2'' I think if I got below 145, my face would really look bad. I already have wrinkles that I didn't have when my face was fat. I looked at pictures of myself from years ago, I thought I looked ok at 145. Plus I have a lot of muscle in my thighs, that make them look thinner. You have to pick a goal weight that you will be able to maintain.

You can try counting your calories at thedailyplate, or spark people. I had the same problem. I just cut the calories in half for what they said they were. You could even cut it into thirds or fourths. There is a good book you can order from Amazon. It's called the Complete book of food Counts. It tells calories, fat grams carb grams, and Fiber grams. It has every possible food, frozen foods, fast foods, etc.

Some guy from California wants to call me. He sent me a message on Plenty of Fish. I am a little bit leery of giving out my phone # this soon. He sent me about 3 messages today. What's the point anyway. It's not like we can date from California to Oregon. I am not going to relocate with my daughter about to have a baby!

I have heard a lot of people have quit smoking really easily with Chantix. It's expensive though. I think it's about $200 a month and they recommend that you stay on it for 3 months.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

The thing with eggs is for some people they work just fine and other people can't eat them. It also depends on how much fill you have. The tighter you are, the more foods you start to have problems with. It's kind of a toss up. If you're not losing, it's tempting to get another fill. I would rather be looser, and lose slower, than be so tight I am completely limited as to what I can eat. I know several people who are so tight they can't eat anything until 3pm and they like it that way. Not me.
