Was anyone banded in December of '06?

Yea, I have that problem too. I haven't lost in months. Then some social occasion will come up and I eat something I am not supposed to eat and it takes two weeks to lose the two lbs I gained. Ugh!

    That final push

Way to go Manatee! I am still stuck and the scale isn't moving. I am going to be with my dad for two weeks. That's going to be hard since he likes to eat out so much. I am going to find a gym as soon as I get there though.
  3. Alex, I started the new thread when you closed the lower BMI old thread. I started it out as "I guess we got moved. " I guess I really didn't even think about the fact that it would be the title of the new thread. I think that's a bad title for a new thread. Are you able to change it so when people get their email notification of new posts in that thread, it says Lower BMI thread rather than "I guess we got moved?" If you could, that would really be awesome. Thanks for all you do here Alex. You rock!

    Actitrainer vs. Body Bugg

How is it able to count the calories burned? You just wear it and it computes them? I stink at the computer and I don't want anything that I have to plug into the computer, or download information, etc. It would be great to have something to wear that is somehow able to keep track of the calories burned.

    Slow Losers Unite!

If you can eat pizza, you need a fill. I could eat pizza before I had my last fill. There is no way I can eat it now. The last time I tried, I spent 2 hours throwing up and trying to get unstuck.

    MMMMmmm.. Edamame

I do too. So what everyone is saying that you buy them fresh or frozen to eat like a vegetable but you can buy them dried to eat more like a snack?

Thanks Alex! You're the greatest. We are all so lucky to have you here doing all that you do!

I guess that would depend on what you are eating and your exercise. There are a lot of people (not saying you are one) that eat mashed potatoes because they go down easy. Staying away from carbs helps the weight loss, and so does exercising every day.
  14. BJean, Have you made an appt. with your doctor? If you're having pain in the port area, I would think you would need to see the doctor and have him check this out.
  15. Read a few posts above. He is WASaBubblebutt's doctor. She really likes him.

    A thread for Single Bandsters

It's weird how some of it escapes. One doctor told me silicone isn't all that solid, and it's not like a real leak, like having a hole or something. It's more like evaporation, through the silicone. I have had that happen to me several times when I thought I had a certain amount in there, and they checked it and part of it was gone. I still think it's weird.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I can't remember what brand mine is. It's a little pill and it melts under my tongue.

I can go hours and hours without getting hungry. It took me a year though to get to the right fill and finally not be hungry all the time. You should eat hard protein. chicken is an example. cut it up into eraser size bites. chew until it's liquid. anything mushy will not stay with you as long and you will get hungry fast. If I eat cottage cheese, I am hungry faster. A protein bar will keep me full longer.

    LASIK, What a great experience

I had this done for my son for his 21st birthday. I was so tired of him losing his contacts. I could hardly wait for him to turn 21 so he could have it done. He is so happy with it. I would like to have mine done too. I have heard though, that I would be wearing reading glasses more than I would go without glasses. I am not sure if I would be any farther ahead. My glasses now are progressive bifocals. I wonder about the middle distance. I have sunglasses that don't have any bifocal in them, and when I wear them, I can't even see the dash board in my car. Is there anyone my age that can tell me whether or not I would have to wear progressive bifocals most of the time?

    Economy.

Well they just lowered interest rates. I have heard from several people who seem to just know about economics that they will be lowering them again. The president seems to be pretty worried about this recession, so just maybe if they keep lowering interest rates, people will start buying houses again.

    The Bandsters' Constitution

I don't have a DH. I do have a DD though who had GB surgery. She has the dumping syndrome and can not tolerate one bite of anything with sugar. So she is very good at telling me "that's not on your diet" if I eat a hersheys kiss. So I guess my add to this bandsters constitution is I have the right to eat chocolate and not beat myself up, if I get right back on program!

    The Weight Watchers Cycle

I couldn't agree more. I have had people tell me that I really should try weight watchers. I told them I was no good at counting points, and they would tell me how simple it is to figure out the points. Then I would have to tell them I have no interest in learning how to count points. I am so much happier now with the band. I don't have to count anything. I sort of count Protein grams, but I don't count carb grams or calories anymore. I know which size portion I can eat, and if I am not hungry, I don't eat. The band is the greatest!

    Intervention last night about Obesity

So is Intervention on Friday nights? I like that show too but it seems like I lose track of it. I can Tivo it too, but I have to know where to look for it.

    A thread for Single Bandsters

I changed my name because it was pointed out to me that we are all on google. I put Denise lap band in google, and it brought me to all my threads. So I changed my profile to be more vague and took out the numbers that identify me. Now I can just be any ol Denise.
