How do you chew, chew, chew?
Oregondaisy replied to nurse7263's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's true. I love it. It seems sometimes that eating is more trouble than it's worth. I would rather just mix up a protein drink and not even bother chewing. -

Yes, feel free to pm me anytime! You could pm me and get my phone #. Are you going to be alone in the motel Monday night? That's so cool that I was banded on your birthday. I sure love my band! -
I am so impressed with so many of you who actually cook breakfast. I am a non cooker. Breakfast low carb slim fast 1/2 lunch south beach frozen meal. It has chicken with some sort of spaghetti sauce on it and broccoli. dinner protein drink made from water EAS protein powder and sugar free raspberry syrup. I had 10 almonds at work.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
Oregondaisy replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Welcome to anyone that's new! This 50's thread is a great thread and we love how we all support each other. I need to look for those calcium chews in the other kind of calcium. I hardly ever get to Rite Aide, but it will be a good time to go since I am out of the Walmart ones. I never even thought to look to see which kind of calcium they had. I stopped taking the calcium horse pills because they were just too hard to get down. Hey does anyone know about this buddy list? I mean it's nice to have people on your friends list, but does it do anything? I am just wondering why do we list our friends? -

Chickie, is that a picture of you in the avatar? I hope so. You should be able to proudly post a picture! I don't get how people are losing all this weight without exercise. I work my a$$ off and the scale doesn't move. IT"S NOT FAIR! end of rant. -

I'd like to knit. I can't see very well even with my reading glasses on. You're lucky you're young enough to see. What do you knit? My friend knitted the cutest little baby hat for my grandbaby that's due 4-15 -

I am glad I am addicted to exercise. I get really bummed out when anything interferes with my gym time. -

WTF? I would like to read that post where someone is cutting you up or down. I would tell her/him where to shove it. chickie you rock and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I would kill to look like you. I know that no matter how hard I try, I will never get down to where I actually should be for my height, which is 110 lbs. I will be happy at 145 and if I lose anything past that, it's just a bonus. I am stuck on another plateau, which has happened the entire time I have been banded. I have never lost weight every week, like others, but nobody will ever hear me complaining that someone else looks skinny just because I will never be skinny. -
How the Lap-Band actually works, fills and refills
Oregondaisy replied to Wendell Edwards's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You ARE just beginning your journey. Many people don't notice any difference at all until about 3 fills. It depends on how aggressive your dr. is with fills. Just remember when you start getting them, to keep going back until you get full fast. You might start out with a fill feeling like it's different, but it won't last. It won't last until you have lost most of the fat pad around your stomach. -
I Want My Band Removed Now!!!!!
Oregondaisy replied to yazmarrero85's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am happy she is keeping it for now too. If she never gets a fill, it will be like it's not even there. She can always get a fill some time down the road. -
How do you chew, chew, chew?
Oregondaisy replied to nurse7263's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor doesn't care if you drink right before you eat. liquids go through the band. We don't drink for an hour after we eat so we don't flush the food out of the pouch. My problem isn't chew chew chew the food, it's medicine. I have to space all my pills out so I can them all down. Some of them can't be crushed and they give me the golf ball feeling. I keep drinking until it's gone, but it's sure a pain in the neck. or the esophagus:biggrin::sneaky: -
I love people who post just to post. Oh wait a minute, wrong thread again. Where is my prince charming?

Why Aren't You Losing Weight?
Oregondaisy replied to WASaBubbleButt's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well I am sure glad you found another doctor. There is no reason in the world that any doctor should treat his patients with anything besides compassion and kindness. You probably (or your insurance) paid him a lot of money and there is no reason for that kind of treatment. -

That is so exciting! I wish I had insurance that would have paid for it. April 1st is my dad's and my daughter's birthday. You're getting banded on a great day! Can't wait to hear how you're feeling. Are you staying in a motel because the next day after surgery you have to have a swallow test. Let me know if you need anything. I live really close to Dr. T's office. -

janet, where do you get those vitamins? -
There are people who are throwing up all the time and are miserable. They come here and we tell them that's not the way it's supposed to be. We advise them to have some fill taken out. They do that, and they are happy that they posted about their problem and that we could help. I have read many, many posts from people who were helped by posting here. Some people are very far away from their doctors and can get answers quick here. Thank God and Alex for LBT!

Weekends are so hard. That's the story of my life, temptations every weekend. It's very difficult to not eat what everyone else is eating. Today I had a Protein drink for Breakfast lunch a chicken breast I just had a Protein Drink and it's only 4:00. I will probably have another one later. I need to break this stinkin plateau!

Is pizza considered a liquid if you chew it very well? I ate pizza the day after my surgery because I was so hungry. I chewed it very well though. I could only eat half the pizza instead of the whole thing, so I know I didn't hurt my band. -

My psych eval was a piece of cake. She asked me what I planned to do when I couldn't use food for comfort. I told her I have learned that exercise is a great stress reliever. She kept talking to me about the band not being a magic cure, and I told her I knew I would still have to diet and exercise. I said I have been dieting and exercising all my life and wasn't getting anywhere, so I hoped the band would be what would make the difference. I have heard from other people not to say too much. Don't get into your past. Tell him/her that you know the bandster rules and you are sure you can follow them. I have heard some psych evals have some sort of written form that has to be filled out, but mine was just an hour long conversation. -

Welcome Lynn! this is a pretty active thread and we are very supportive of each other. Glad to have you here! -
Susan, don't worry about not knowing when things aren't right. You will know. You know you're supposed to eat without a problem if you chew well. If you start pbing and having food get stuck, that's an immediate problem. It IS a very fine line between being too tight and just right, but you will know. I was very frustrated when I had fills and unfills, but it's worth it now to be perfect. I hope that made sense.

Janet, I was very touched and so surprised. I just want all these celebrations to stop interfering with my dieting. Things should settle down for awhile. I hope so. I am tired of losing these same last few lbs over and over. -
Should I low carb to hit goal weight?

I wish I could run. My back just kills me for days when I try to run. My doctor said no more running. Jacqui, you are such a good bandster. -
i am definitely addicted to LBT. I hated it when I was out of town and had to use the library computer only for one hour.
