Erik in AZ - Newly Banded - Introduction
Oregondaisy replied to ErikMesa's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Mesa is actually pretty big (compared to where I live, lol) My dad lives near McKellips and Higley. Are you close to there? I have been banded for awhile now. The band used to cause problems for me with what I could eat etc, but now, it's almost like I don't have it. I know what I can eat and is band friendly. I can pretty much eat anything though, in small portions. Do you live close to there at all? Hic ups are very normal. So is a lot of burping. My daughter told me the other day I need to learn to burp quieter. It seems every time I drink or eat, I burp a lot for a few minutes. My dad is moving into assisted living on 72nd and Broadway, so I will be coming to have an estate sale and get his house ready to sell. I am not looking forward to that, so it would be nice to get together and get my mind off of it, for a little while. I have a couple other banded friends in AZ one in Phoenix and one in Glendale, but none in Mesa! -
That's strange. must have been the elevation. I always say the band has a mind of it's own.

I haven't posted because I have been a little bit depressed and when that happens, I end up eating things I am not supposed to eat. I have eaten better today breakfast protein drink lunch protein drink dinner chicken laughing cow cheese and veggies. sugar free fudgesicle snack.

Hey the three of us should get together in Mesa when I come there in May. It's always nice to talk to someone who is banded in person. -
I will be going to AZ to see my dad next month. I will look in Marshalls and TJMax there. I am now starting to hear about them from a lot of people.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Really once you get use to the band and your fill, pbing really isn't that big of an issue anymore. It's when you have too much of a fill that your band is too tight and causes that throwing up. I eat small amounts of food and nothing ever gets stuck anymore and I can't even remember the last time I had a pb. I am very happy with my band. Yesterday I ate too many sweet things so today I am doing protein shakes. By tomorrow I will have lost what I gained yesterday. I am not hungry at all and today it's 6:00 pm and all I have had today is 2 protein drinks. -
I finally found one and now I can't remember your recipe so I am glad you posted again. I am going to look through this thread and see how I am supposed to cook this thing.

You're right about the liquids. They go right through the band since you have no fill, into the lower part of your stomach. You're doing great! -
Let us know when it is ready and where to send a check to receive a cook book.
-
Where did you find those directions? People are always asking me, and I am not sure where those directions are posted on the site. What is the title of the thread that has the directions and steps to do a ticker?
-
Candy, that is great news! Cassie, you need to give us more details. Are you exercising and counting calories?
-
I really don't think my dr. is stupid. I was checked the next time and all my saline was there, so I have no leak.

That series I can make you thin is on right now on the Learning Channel. I set my DVR to record the series. I hope he has something new to teach us. -
Do you think that we should start a new thread since this one is titled all you do is complain? We aren't talking about that anymore.

I would personally like to give thanks to anyone who has helped me over the last 15 months. Especially to Alex for giving us this wonderful place to get great information and have a place to come to bitch and complain at the same time. -
It said no stores in my area:mad:

Hey Janet, I need that link you always make on how to get a ticker. I had someone pm me, and I couldn't find where on the board the directions are. I noticed her posting and under her post it has the web site address for ticker factory. I obviously didn't make my directions clear. I will copy and paste your link and pm it to her. thanks:biggrin: -
Question about Band problems
Oregondaisy replied to txaberry's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You won't mess up your band if you follow your doctor's advice. Stay on whatever diet your doctor told you to stay on until he/she advises you to move to the next stage. These problems come from throwing up often. (otherwise known as pb productive burp) -

Hey Erik, I am not from Mesa but I go there all the time. My dad lives there. Welcome to bandland. It's a great place. Make sure you stay in touch with lap band talk. We are all a great group here, and you can find out anything you need to know, usually within minutes. -
Was anyone banded in December of '06?
Oregondaisy replied to thebionicbroad's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am pretty lucky that I don't have much of a skin problem. I hope I can lose my last 5 lbs that I want to lose. I am glad I found out about the band before I gained anymore weight. I wish I would have found it even sooner. -

It would be a shame if any newcomer thought that's the road to weight loss. -
That's why I never told anyone that I got the band. I went to dinner with some friends not long ago, and finally told them about it. They said "I thought you did it by yourself" I was completely offended. I was exercising 6 days a week for 3 years before I got the band. Since I have gotten the band, it's no different really than being on another diet. If I choose to eat candy cookies cake, etc, I still would have not lost the weight, band or no band.

Thanks so much!
