Oregondaisy replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank you everyone! His name is Wesley David. DD's dad's name was David but her cousin already used the name. Wesley is named after my SIL's grandfather. Janet, I am flying. All of us will be flying down together. -
I Want My Band Removed Now!!!!!
Oregondaisy replied to yazmarrero85's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good job Yaz. You'll feel so good when you start buying smaller clothes. It's such a boost to our self esteem when our clothes become too big! -
If you use the elliptical machine, this is what my trainer told me. Vary the resitistance every few min. Like do one level for 2-3 min then push it up a couple of notches for a couple of min. Another way you can do it is go up one every min. I start at 9 for one min, then10 then 11 then 12 and then go back to 9 Trainer says you can't do the same things over and over. He says it's necessary to trick your body.

The abbreviations I Like are DD and DH. We can't keep track of everyone's DD or DH's name, but we know who we are talking about. My DD make me a grandma last night. It was the most beautiful experience!:rolleyes2: -
I know there is another thread going, but I want your name out where everyone can see it! I was so happy to see your picture up there at the top..You ROCK!:huh2:

Everyone is different. I had a resting metabolic test taken at the doctor's office because I have a very slow metabolism. It showed I have to eat 1,000 calories a day to lose weight. A lot of people can eat more than that and still lose weight. If you are happy with 900-1,000 calories, I don't think it's a problem. Just eat healthy. Stay away from the white carbs, and eat Protein first, then veggies then fruit and you will lose weight!

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
Oregondaisy replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My grandson is expected to make his entrance into this world at around 3 am. DD did so well in labor. It hurt me so much to see her in so much pain. They finally gave her an epidural at around 11pm. She is probably going to be able to get a little bit of sleep. Not me! I have insomnia anyway, so there is no way I could fall asleep now. I came home to let my dog out and give them some time alone before she has to start pushing. -
I asked my dr. to be aggressive with a fill because I was starving. Maybe if you tell your dr. that the fills aren't helping and that you are hungry all the time, he will give you a better fill.

Yes! My daughter is in labor. Today is her official due date. We will be going to the hospital soon. Please say prayers that she has an easy delivery! I am in tears just thinking about it! -
I am glad to see so many people posting about slips, and what the symptoms are. We have so many people who do not want to follow the rules, and say they chewed well and everything is fine. Everyone needs to be aware that slips are very possible, and especially if you don't follow the rules your doctor gives you. Some doctors don't even give much advice and that's why this board is so valuable.

Have you read the thread How the band works, fills and unfills? As you lose weight, you lose fat around your stomach and the band becomes looser. That's why it feels tighter the first couple of weeks. It won't be until you get closer to goal that you won't need to keep going in for fills regularly. Are you really psychic? I love psychics and I am always looking for one! Feel free to send me a private message. It sounds like your weight loss is going to go along the way mine did. I had long plateaus and then all of a sudden I would drop a bunch. I do think age plays a part in this. -
That's a good way to put it Lauren. I know I will have a bmi that will be considered overweight. My trainer says I have at least 10 lbs of muscle and my cholesterol is very low. I am very happy with my size whether it's a normal bmi or not.

How the Lap-Band actually works, fills and refills
Oregondaisy replied to Wendell Edwards's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It sometimes takes more than one fill before you feel a huge change, especially if your doctor doesn't believe in an aggressive fill. If you're hungry, you are definitely ready. I see you only had surgery a couple of weeks ago, so you are in what we call "bandster hell" Most surgeons make people wait 6 weeks after surgery for their first fill. -
It's funny. I saw BBK at my daughter's house on her lap top. On my computer, up at the top it says Lap Band Talk then a big ad for New Hope Bariatrics. I am glad I got to see her earlier!

people that have these spams need to be on medication. Luvox is one that works.

I was the weirdo in English class asking the teacher if we could please diagram sentences!:huh2: Now math, that's a different story!

I am just bummed that I can't vote. I am going to be so angry if Mark or Roger win when it's so obvious that women struggle so much more to lose.

Grammar just happens to be a big pet peeve of mine and has been all of my life. There was another thread that got started awhile back on this topic, and it ended up being closed because people started getting nasty. They even ended up with a poll going on about the rules and whether or not R & R should have special rules. I don't have any answers, and I would hope it wouldn't stop someone from posting. My biggest pet peeve on this board isn't grammar though. It's that people make their posts hard to read. They may have something valuable to say, but nobody will read it if they make it hard to read.

It stands for productive burp but really it can be just like throwing up.

The first few bites are going to go through the band into the stomach though, and that's what hurts if it gets stuck. -
What I want to know is if it's too late to vote. I couldn't find anywhere to vote.

Isn't that a great feeling Janet! I had the same problem with some black jeans I got at Pennys. I had barely worn them and they got too big and had to go back and get a smaller size. I wish we had an old navy here. Lynn, in the second part of your post, the font is bigger and easier to read. The first couple lines were smaller for some reason. Hope you're feeling stronger soon to keep up with your grandson. My DD hasn't had her baby yet. Her doc said she could come in Monday and he would try something to move the process along. He won't induce her until she is one week past her due date which is Monday. I need my grand baby to get here so we can all come to AZ to get my dad's house ready to sell. -
I have to be careful too, but it would defeat my purpose if I took the skin off. I have constipation problems all the time not matter what I try to do to get more fiber in. I know calcium can cause that problem. I can't win.
