How was your 5:2 day today?
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I thought you looked adorable too, Coops! Sheryl, you will have to recomend an Indian dish that isn't hot and spicy. I don't like Curry either so I am not sure if that leaves much.My stupid little town has a few Chinese places and several Mexican places. We recently got a Thai place that everyone is thrilled about. I seriously doubt we will ever get an Indian restaraunt.I always go for Greek food when I go to Portland because I am Greek and I miss it. I should make it myself really. I got to meet Bill's 30 year old son today. I really like him. He lives in downtown San Francisco. I guess that's good for him, since that's where he works.I wish we could stay here longer but we really don't have anywhere to stay. Hotels are very expensive and his son has 2 room mates and doesn't have room. We are going to spend some time with him tomorrow until noon and sometime tomorrow head back to Sacremento. Friday Bill has an appt. at the sleep place to get all the stuff he needs for Kelly's Cpap machine. It's such a better machine. I guess after that we are going to visit his step mom and we will be there for a couple of days. All I know is I am loving Calfornia and being away from home. -

You are very welcome! I am glad I am so far out now, so I know what to expect, and I feel that sharing here is important because there are so many more people getting sleeved than I was at the time. -

I don't know what's wrong with me. I am so teerful all the time. Bill took me for Indian food which I have never had before. I hated it. It was so hot and spicy. I went into the bathroom and started crying. It's ridiculous. I've never been this way before, crying at the drop of a hat. Maybe I need an anti depressant too. I don't feel depressed but it's a little strange to me that all someone has to do is give me a weird look to bring teers to my eyes. -

Oh yeah, she sent him a copy of her stinking chart notes from her visit to her OB doctor and a copy of the blood test results. We ar both freaking out. He wants nothing to do with her but next week he plans to call her and find out if she plans to put his name down on the birth certificate. -

This is all very true. At one year out, I could eat one piece of pizza. It's thin crust from the same place every time. I will be 5 years out soon and I can still only eat one piece. I don't do it very often because I want to eat more, and I don't need pizza anyway. I did gain back 15 lbs by making bad choices and it was very hard to take it back off. . It's a lot harder to lose later on. It's very important to stick to the protein first and not eat in between meals. -

Sheryl, I am really glad you're enjoying the meetup groups, I am sure it's better to meet someone in person than online. As far as the Lexapro goes, i am glad to hear you're taling a very low dose. When I took it, I had the amped up feeling so bad, I wanted to climb the walls. Those SSRI's are nothing to mess with, unless someone plans to take them indefinitely. I get a lot of clothes from Ross. They have some really good deals in there. Also, Maurice's . They have really cute clothes but they are expensive. I only buy stuff on clearance there. I got a really cute pair of boots there on clearance for $7 I've heard TJ max has cute stuff for cheap too, but I don't have one around me. I don't know what to do about this constipation. I know it's from the iron I take. I am not going to take it while I am on this trip. yesterday, I was so constipated, I hated to use the bathroom in the motel with Bill so close in the room. I finally managed to go, but it was hell. I took a laxative last night and this morning everything went fine, but i don't want to do that often. I know people swear about Miralax, but I read something where it causes kidney damage, and my mom was using it, and died of kidney failure. -

Bill and I made it to California. I don't know what was wrong with me today. I woke up crying and basically cried all day. Bill kept asking me what was wrong and I really could not tell him. I was just grumpy and mean to him all day. I finally snapped out of it at dinner. We are in Sacremento and Bill has 2 doctor's appointments tomorrow. One is to get a new mask prescription for the CPAP machine that Kelly sent us. I love being in California. It's so nice and warm here. We went to an outdoor mall and sat outside this evening while bill had a beer. There is no way we could have done that at home. It's still freezing cold at home. I am wondering what every one is up to today! Cathy I know exactly what you mean. I am so stressed out with my house on the market. I just want someone to buy it and get this whole process over with! -

Stalls are normal and common. Cranberry juice has a lot of carbs in it. People seem to lose the best when they limit carbs and try to eat low carbs, When they do the sleeve, they use the part of the stomach that is not stretchy. -

Maybe the Lexapro is having a side of effect . I know when I took it, I felt like I had about a thousand cups of coffee. I'm glad you have a lot of friends and activites. I know how you feel. Before I met Bill, I got really tired of being alone so much. -

Coops I love that you had a good giggle! I go out with friends and dance once a week. I love to dance. I have so much fun when I'm dancing. I am glad you had a good time! Florinda, What is going on with you? Are you still in Germany? Have you figured out if you're coming home? I wear skinny jeans with flats. Mine are skin tight. -

That's great news, Sheryl! Do you think the medication is working already? I thought it took a few weeks for it to start helping. I m so glad to hear you're feeling better! Coops, so glad to hear you're rockin the 5:2! I've been so lucky not to regain any of it that I lost. I love 5:2 That Paris trip sounded like so much fun! That's a lot of kids to contend with! You must be a saint. -

thanks so much for sharing that! I had to send a link for the last one to Bill. He was an English teacher so bad grammar drives him insane. I always have him correct my grammar. I always thought I had good grammar, but I'm amazed at the little things I get wrong. Florinda,I hope you can get your tests. I don't know what to say about your situation. It has to toally suck to be stuck away out of the country, feeling ill, and not being able to go home. I really feel for you. I hope you are able to straighten it all out for your financial support and your health! Sheryl, my daughter took Lexapro and had a very hard time getting off of it. She had actual horrible withdrawl symptoms when she wanted to get pregnant and wanted to stop taking it. I don't know what to tell you. If you need medication, you should take it. I would try to take it for the shortest time to get you over the hump. Once you're on it for a long time, it's really hard to get off of it. I hope you can itentify what is causing you to feel so out of sorts, whether it's grief or whatever. We should make plans to meet in Portland. I am definitely going in May. Cathy, I haven't heard of Banksky either. That is so cool! Wanda, I am sorry to hear about your mom. I went through that with my parents and it was very hard. (((Wanda))) Hugs to you. My son and his wife and grand daughter are here for the weekend. It's my grandson's birthday so the party is Saturday. I love having my kids and grand babies around, but Bill and I are leaving for CA on Sunday. It's going to be hard to pack and get ready with company here. Bill and I are doing very well. We had some issues that we worked through and worked out pretty easily. I am glad he is able to communicate. I am not used to a man who talks things out without anger and fighting, and it's nice. I am really excited to go to Sacremento and San Francisco, and we are also going to Yosemite National Park. I am glad I have a lap top to keep in touch with all of you. I haven't had time at all to look at any of the rest of the board. -
At this time, this group is closed to new members. We feel the group needs to stay small for the group to function properly, Please feel free to start another 5:2 group, if you're trying this way of eating.

Did Sheryl write that, or Zelly? That is some powerful writing! So much going on with with everyone . I have to leave to take a friend home. Her car broke down when she came for a wedding. She lives down the coast 2 hours, almost to CA. So , I'll be gone all day. Hope everyone has a good eating day. I have to do well. I am up 2 pounds. AND water. I am so constipated. I am tired of it. I take the chia seeds and flax and I don't know what else to do. I don't want to take miralax regularly, since I read it causes kidney damage with long term use. -

Florinda, I am glad you're safe in Germany. I hope they have something to make you feel better. Sheryl I am glad you had time with your son. There is nothing more I like better than spending time with my kids. She said all that stuff with Downs is only if it's your first baby. I don't know if it's true. I am sure they will do testing. The whole thing makes me ill. -

Yeah, I think the woman is crazy. She probably got pregnant on purpose. She told him she was done wth menopuase and she knew she was still having periods. Sheryl, I hope the medication helps you. You are aware of SSRI's messing with your sex life, aren't you? I'm sorry about your best friend's mother. You have had a couple other deaths to deal wiht lately too. No wonder you're down! Are you going to go on the date? It will be good for you to get out a little bit. Cathy I feel for you. I am still going to have to pack up stuff if my house sells. Here it is 2 years since I have moved and I still have stuff to unpack from both houses. I am up a couple of lbs but I'll take it off. Yesterday I didn't go to the gym. I am going today though. hope everyone is having a agreat Sunday! -

That is so hard. Florinda I am glad you're fling a new wc claim. I hope things fall into place so you can finally feel some peace. Yes she is telling the truth. I just hope she miscarries soon. -

Sheryl, I am sure you are experiencing a mid life crisis. I said that too, not just Swizz. Everyone seems to reivaluate their lives at around age 50. I could not live out in the country. I have friends that do. Bill does. Bill's ex says she is pregnant. She is eithe or 54. She says she wants nothing from Bill. I think she is crazy to want to have a baby at her age. We are really afraid she will carry it for awhile and anything past 26 weeks they will try to save. She is going to mail him the blood tests results. So far, it's just brought Bill and me closer. He's so freaked and I just feel bad for him. What a mess. -

Kelly gave me a link to the website and I think we can order a mask from there. It had just come and he really wanted to use it last night. The machine itself is much quieter. I just don't understand if these machines are supposed to stop snoring, why he can still snore so loudly while wearing this one or his old mask. I know it's helping him breathe while he sleeps, but he still snores regardless. -

Thanks everyone. There is no way I would have posted that picture if this were not a secret group. I don't like having my picture on the internet. Once I googled my username here and another board I particiapate on, and a whole bunch of my posts came up. I ended up getting Bill's stomach bug. I have been so nauseous these past 2 days and since I am a crazy and admitted food addict, I have been happy about it. Kelly sent us her C Pap machine. We went to the place where they do sleep studies. Bill went to the medical supply place and talked to them and they acted like he was crazy. We called all around trying to find out how to get a new mask for it. Apparently, this is a prescription item. Bill's insurance is only good in California so luckily, we are going down there in a couple of weeks. This is going to be a real test of our relationship. Anyway, he needs a copy of his sleep study which could prove to be a problem since he said it was performed several years ago when he had a different MD. The oxygen place told me he probably needs a new sleep study. Now he is asleep with Kelly's mask on, which is too small for him, and I feel badly about it. I wish I didn't have insomnia. GRRR -
You have to understand that you are in the Rants and Raves Section. You probably got here by clicking on new posts. Rants and raves do not necessarily have anything to this board. You can come to Rants and Raves and gripe about anything you choose that might annoy you. You can feel free to rant or rave anything. If anyone corrects anyone's grammar on a post, bring it to the attention of a moderator. It's a against the terms of service. I didn't go to college. I started working in downtown Chicago at the age of 17 and left at 6 am to get to work by 8am taking 3 busses to get to work. College was defintitely out of the quesiotn.

I've been using flax for years. I grind them in my coffee grinder. I've been putting them in my protein drinks since I first got banded. I am hoping the added Chia seeds will be additiional help because the flax is not near enough. I think your counselor is right about finding more/different friends. It doesn't hurt to try new things and meet new people. You're doing great Sheryl. It seems like everyone I know is on an antidepressant. You aren't are you? I am really freaking out that my house is not going to sell. I can't afford that house and it just has to sell. -

Okay you guys asked for it. The only picture of Bill and me that exists. We were on our way home from being down the coast and stopped here. Someone offered to take our picture. I look fat because I have this heavy sweater on and the pockets are stuffed with junk plus I had 2 layers under that. Besides that, I was wearing sweat pants. I am into comfort in the car. I know I feel bad for Deborah (Bill's friend) being so down about her weight. I also remember what it's like to get your hopes up that the guy you're talking to isn't going to care. Appararently, she was honest that she's very heavy but seeing her didn't do the trick for him . Whatever. She should give up on online dating unless she goes to BBW people meet. I do wish Bill would find some more male friends. I wish he'd get off his ass and apply to the local community college like he says he is going to. That would be so good for him. He's really sick. I am at his house but I 'm going home soon. He was up all night running to the bathroom coming out both ends. I felt so bad for him. Plus his whole body aches do I am hoping whatever flu shot I got will help me not catch it. He was fine when we went to bed. I can will have a better eating day today with him not around and I am happy about that. Sheryl can you think of something that you would like to learn, that might make your heart sing? For me it was ballroom dance classes. Florinda, I wish we could find an answer to thd constipation issues. It's a big problem for me too. I recently started on the chia seeds that I think it was Butter talking about way back when. I am so excited that the mail lady should be bringing the new Cpap machine today!!
