It does suck. I have this really nice guy in my life now that is completely broke. He makes lousy money at his job because this is a depressed economy and most jobs are minimum wage. I may have to start cooking. I don't want to embarrass him by telling him I can afford to pay for my own dinner.

Come out of the band failure closet!

It's really too bad the band doesn't work in our brains. But there is medicine for that. WASa came up with a good explanation. Some of us have OCD when it comes to food. I know I do.

You are a very pretty girl. I wish I would have found the band years ago. I feel like I wasted a lot of years being fat, because I never wanted to leave my house. Your frogs in your ticker look like the ones in my yard.

I would imagine if you tried to eat too much with a sleeve it would be painful . After all, we are talking about a stomach size less than the size of a golf ball. WASA has explained that they use the non stretchy part of the stomach. I am sure she will correct me if I am wrong about this. I would definitely go for a sleeve if I lost my band for any reason. I have heard people say "but it can't be reversed" Well who would want it reversed. Not me, that's for sure. Anything reversed on me would reverse my weight loss. I don't want to go back to a size 24!

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Becky, now don't be too surprised when your fill loosens up. You probably already know this, but as you lose weight, you are also losing fat around your stomach, between your stomach and the band. That's why we need another fill. The fat melts and the band gets looser.

Chickie, so glad to see you back! Post about anything you want. The conversation here changes sometimes from post to post or sometimes somebody will answer someone's post. I guess it's an "anything goes" thread.

    Is my stomach small now?

No, your stomach is actually the same size. It just has a band around the upper portion. When you get fills, the band will tighten around that upper portion and that is what they call the pouch. Hope you feel better soon!

    A thread for Single Bandsters

Thanks Missy. I really never thought I would ever find anybody. I like in a little hick town and most guys are too cheap to pay for match. Plenty of Fish seems to have a bunch of losers from this town. I never go anywhere that I could meet someone, so I knew it had to be online or it would never happen. It's still all very new, but so far, the better I get to know him, the more I like him. You're lucky to have gotten banded so young. All the guys my age are all broke from their ex wives getting everything in the divorce. That does kind of suck.

okay I just noticed that now they have the number of friends posted by our names. Now it really does feel like High School. I may have to voice my complaints to Alex. Do people on LBT need to go around collecting friends? I will take a picture some day for you. Right now I don't have a digital camera and I have no clue how to post pictures. I am pretty computer illiterate. I know how to post on LBT though! I will get a digital camera sometime soon though. My grandbaby is 8 weeks old now and there are a lot of people asking me to send pictures.I might have to join the 21st century.

When did you feel like a "normal" person ?

The one thing that has made me feel more normal is that I really do enjoy exercise now. I love doing my weight routine and watching in the mirrors at the gym. I used to hate mirrors. I can see my muscles working in those mirrors. Having a guy tell me I have a sexy butt was a big help in the feeling normal too:biggrin:

There is a sleeve board starting. PM WASa and I am sure she would give you the address. I would post it here, but I am not sure if it's against the rules. You would think I would know the rules, since I am a moderator, but I am not in the mood to go back and read them. You can pm me too. I have the address for the new sleeve board. People who aren't banded yet should be well informed about all surgeries before they make their decision. I would get a sleeve as fast as I could run to get one if anything happened to my band. I do know people IRL who are banded and have been for years, but I still fear that this WL is too good to be true, and someday it will be taken away from me. Some people have asked me why I am not afraid to have part of my stomach thrown in the garbage. It's simple. It's permanent. I don't want to get fat again. The band can do damage to the stomach. How scary is that?

Are we all that are left to low carbing? It's really the only way I can lose. I just have to get into that head space that they are EVIL!

I don't love it when they are in my flower box under my bedroom window. For 1" frogs, they make a hell of a lot of noise. I have insomnia, and I have to have quiet and complete darkness to sleep. The rest of the time, it's pretty cool. It's a big chorus of singing frogs. They are all different colors. Some are yellow, some are green, and some of them are spotted with all of the colors.

I am really happy to see all the support WASa is getting on this thread. It warms my heart. She is an extremely wonderful person and has been through hell with her band. Her band was not her friend the way mine is for me.

I have frogs all over my yard. When my son was little, he dropped a bucketful of tadpoles in the creek below my house. In the spring, they are so loud I can hardly hear when I talk on the phone. They are tree frogs, about an inch long. When it's not spring, they are hopping all over my yard.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

You need a fill. This is perfectly normal. You are in what we call bandster hell. Hardly anyone loses at all or very well until they have actually had more than one fill. Try not to get frustrated over it. It's very normal. When you go for your first fill, ask your doctor if he can be aggressive with a fill.

    A thread for Single Bandsters

It's going so well. I couldn't be more excited! I got my first kiss finally day before yesterday, and several more yesterday. I haven't had any affection in so long. it felt wonderful! He used my computer to delete his profile from match. I sat right next to him cause he asked for my help. He doesn't use a computer much. We have planned out the whole weekend. How are things going with you Chrispy? All moved in? To any other single bandsters, the band is the greatest thing! Before banding, I would never put a profile on match and I asked my trainer if I should check the "few extra lbs" box and he said "hell no" That felt really good! Yay Band!

It's really easy for me to ignore post that that tend to irritate me. I go to my subscribed threads and post in there. Those are the ones I like. If I am in the mood, I will go to new posts, but if I read one that irritates me, I sure don't post in it, because it will become a subscribed thread. I just read it and shake my head.

Come out of the band failure closet!

I have a friend that very badly wants the band. I have told her over and over again that the band won't work for her. She is not a good candidate. She eats chips and cookies from morning to night. I have told her having the band is not magically going to make you desire chicken instead of chips and cookies. She says "I hate chicken. In fact I hate all meat" So, she will probably get the band and complain that it didn't work for her. She seems to think that because it has worked for me, it will work for her. I struggle not to eat junk food but the difference is, I give in once in awhile and I can see her giving in to it every day.

    NA'ers?

Honestly, the band makes it pretty easy.

When did you feel like a "normal" person ?

I felt normal when my trainer told me not to check the extra lbs box when I told him I was going to put up a profile at match.com. He said I am definitely average. That was a good feeling. I trust his judgement. I know a lot of those at goal still have trouble with body images. sometimes I look in the mirror and think I can't believe it's me.

I am the lucky one. It's great to have friends in Arizona. For years I knew nobody there . I got to go shopping with both of you! Shelly, you're on your way! WAsA, I hope you're feeling better every day and that you aren't working too hard.

    "eating around the band"

In my opinion, eating something healthy is not eating around the band. They refer to that term when people are gaining weight, or not losing weight. Cottage cheese, yogurt, low fat cheese are all healthy foods. They might not stick with you for very long, but if you aren't constantly hungry and picking at junk food, like chips, it's really not a problem. I have cottage cheese and almonds. I have to eat things that I like and sometimes food just doesn't even sound good cause I am never hungry.

Does anyone know what purpose it serves to have all of our friends listed on our profile? I mean it's nice to have friends, but why do they need to be listed. I don't get it.
