I hate it when people post just to post.....

I'll tell you what is just plain wrong. I live in the middle of nowhere and don't even know what the cheesecake factory is. Maybe that's a good thing. I sure know where the dairy queen is.

Come out of the band failure closet!

I understand your frustration BJ. I never lost weight like I was told I would. I went on plateaus that lasted months. I did everything I was told to do, and was sure I was one of those people the band wouldn't work for. Then all of a sudden, I would drop a few again. I recently lost 4 lbs and haven't done anything different. I thought once I got to this weight I would stop losing. Now I am wondering if I will continue to lose. I once went back on 4 protein drinks per day for a week to get the scale to move again. Some people lose regularly, and others lose their weight differently.

SO NOW I am anorexic?? I hate people...

BBK, where do you live? Since you're in the state of confusion, I am not sure if you're even in the USA. I know Chickie is an Aussie. With your DH's line of work, it would seem like you could move anywhere. You probably said where you live at one point, but things go in and out of my brain too quickly. I have CRS (can't remember shit) I seriously doubt if anyone will ever tell me I am too thin.

SO NOW I am anorexic?? I hate people...

I am sure if someone told me I looked too skinny I would say "feel free to go and buy me some ice cream. I'll wait right here"

    Rename Rants & Raves Board

What about Sybil? She was that multiple personality person. I think they have a new fancy name for that disorder. I have lorazapam. It's a central nervous system depressant. That's why it can cause depression. So is Xanax. I had to switch to lorazapam because Xanax made me feel horribly depressed if I took it. Lorazapam will do it too, but I have to take it more than once for it to happen. Xanex has an immediate"I hate the world and everyone in it" feeling when I take it.

Come out of the band failure closet!

There is a saying, and I have told this to brandy. Sooner or later you get sick and tired of being sick and tired. Until that happens mentally, people aren't ready to make the changes they need to make so they can do their part and let the band do it's part.

Had a fill and feel looser than before?

I had a fill once and completely lost all my saline. I think it's possible that they miss the port. My dr. always pulls it out to see what is left in there. Then when he went to add that back plus more, he must have lost contact with the port. I went back and he pulled the needle back and said "you have no saline in there" that was when I said "that's exactly what I told you!" I was not charged for another fill when I went back.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

The only trouble I have is I no longer receive emails to my subscribed threads. I have to go to user CP. I emailed Alex about it and he doesn't know what to do. I have it set to get emails to my threads but it's just not happening.

Wow Did I already find my sweet spot?

Go to the fills section on the board and look for a post by Wendall Edwards. It's called something like "how the band works, fills and unfills" It explains why you will need another fill later on.
  10. The thing I don't like about GB is that you can sit on the couch and do nothing and lose weight like crazy the first year. GP people don't learn how to eat healthy and change their eating habits. I know probably 25 people that have gained most or all their weight back plus more, 3-5 years down the road.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

You can definitely eat around the band. It's the hardest thing about having the band. Junk food goes down easier than anything. Chips, cookies, ice cream, all go down like you have no band. Then something like chicken breast you have to chew the heck out of. It's the one thing I don't like about the band.

    ONE exlanation for hair loss

I was banded 12/06 and my hair started falling out at about 4 months post op. It lessened at about one year post op but did not stop completely. I am at 1 1/2 years at the end of the month and it's only been in the last month that I think I lose hair like a normal person would. One dr said it's from rapid weight loss. I lost 22 lbs the first month, and at month 9 I lost about 15. The rest of the time my WL was slow.

    Warning TMI, but need help.

Thanks, I will look for that.

    ONE exlanation for hair loss

I hate to say it, but I started Biotin before I got banded and still lost half my hair. It's growing in, but it's only been recently that it stopped falling out.

    BMI of 35-40???

I would think anyone who is a self pay would have no problems getting banded. Unless you only had like 20 lbs to lose, there would be no reason a person who wanted to self pay would be turned down.

    Looking for support

Hey I don't live in AZ but I go there often. My dad lives in Mesa. I am sure that WasA will answer you. She got her sleeve in the beginning of June. You could try sending her a private message. I will be there again in August. Is it too far for you to drive to Mesa? We could meet somewhere in the middle. There are several people in Mesa, and LoveRocks lives in Glendale. I love getting together with other WLS friends!

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Is there life after the band? Life is so much better! It's so much more fun not to shop in the plus sizes anymore. It's so nice when people tell you how nice you look. It's great not to huff and puff when trying to exercise. I could go on and on, but long story short, there is no comparison. Life with the band is a million times better than being fat.

    Just ate....

Perfect! Blizzards are so yummy and after all, they are appropriate for the mushy stage.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

I feel lucky if I can sleep until 8 am. It doesn't seem to matter what time I go to bed, I am usually awake at 6 am and can't go back to sleep.

    Pin up Shoto Shoot??

Well I hope you post them here! It was so much fun seeing your last ones. I think you would be great as a model!

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I have trouble sleeping all the time. I take Ambien for it. Insomnia seems to be very common with women after the age of 50. drives me insane.

    Just ate....

Oh, I forgot. You need dessert too. A hot fudge sundae would go with that nicely. You don't even need to put it in a blender.
  23. Oregondaisy

    Just ate....

Why no pizza? It sounds to me like you wouldn't be hungry if you ate a whole pizza. Just remember to chew it well!

Does anyone else get UTI's when they have sex?

The urologist put me on the low dose of anti biotics because I would get the UTI and as son as I finished the medicine, I would get another one. I will ck out some of those herbal remedies. I would do anything to get rid of them for good. I have to be careful though. Sometimes some herbs are not good for the liver and I have to make sure whatever I take isn't harmful to the liver. I remember for awhile I took (sp?) acidophilous and that seemed to help. Garlic would certainly be easy to take. I take so much stuff now, that it's hard to get it all down. Sometimes pills aren't all that easy to get down with the band.
  25. cool. now we can call them and bug them too!
