Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
Oregondaisy replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I always had big long plateaus too. I think it is your body adjusting to the new weight. It probably gets scared that it's going to disappear so it wants time to get used to the idea. The scale will move again, as long as you don't get frustrated and do the old thinking "I am not losing anyway, so I might was well eat_______(some sort of junk) -
What are all you low carb bansters doing about constipation. Last night I thought I was going to die.

Constipation sucks. I think I need to add prunes to my daily diet. TMI? -
I have never seen a ring like that. I would like to find that. We don't have Krogers here. I really don't want to go into a sex shop. I saw something at Walmart when looking for the astroglide and it was with the condoms. I couldn't figure out if it was just a ring or if it was some sort of different condom. I am not up on which condoms feel the best. I got a little closer last night. We are headed in the right direction. I talked to him about it, and just like I thought, he had no clue. He was trying different things but I need to tell him to be more gentle. Plus I was almost there and he started talking which broke my concentration. We tried the astroglide he we both liked it.

What does it feel like to be "stuck"?
Oregondaisy replied to amonroy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One thing that helps when you're stuck is putting your arms up in the air. It seems to stretch things out and sometimes it will help it go through the band. I don't need to explain it because everyone else has done a great job. Just chew it up until it's literally liquid in your mouth, and you won't have a problem. When we say tiny bites, we mean the size of a pencil eraser. If you don't have a tight fill, sometimes getting stuck won't happen until you have good restriction. -
Honestly, you will be able to eat more things as you get farther away from surgery. I wish I wasn't able to eat anything I want sometimes, but for the most part, I have no problem foods. I eat whatever I want, in small portions. I choose not to have bread, but I can eat it. I can eat half a jr. whooper. On the 3 occasions that I have gone to Bking to get one, I ate half, shopped in Walmart (it's in walmart's parking lot) and came back to the car and ate the other half. You can eat a pb and J. if you can't eat it on bread, you'll be able to eat it on toast. Just not right away!

Congratulations! How exciting? I wish I could go to Hawaii :-( Where is the picture of the ring?

My bf is a long distance runner. He is 56. If he can do it, you can too! He ran a marathon. He started running again 4 years ago after not running since h.s. You are only in your 30's so tell DH to go fly a kite. I wish I could run. I am not supposed to. I jog a little bit on the treadmill and I love it. Unfortunately , I have a screwed up spine and running is bad for it. I do it anyway, and sometimes I pay for it later in the evening when my spine is really hurting.

Would you get breast implant.....??
Oregondaisy replied to gg2007BandSTAR's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I would never get implants. I have always had little bitty boobies. It would be nice to have bigger ones, but there is no way I would go through the cost to have them made bigger. I don't see the point. I guess I am used to having little ones. I also really like going without a bra. -

Carolyn you are just about where I started and I am 5'2" too. Welcome to bandland. Hope you get your surgery soon. -
You know what is really good but probably too fattening is either low carb slim fast or Atkins mixed with Jello sugar free pudding. It's hard not to eat all of it but there would be a lot of calories if you ate all of it at once.

A thread for Single Bandsters
Oregondaisy replied to NewBeginnings2018's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yeah, it took me 3 years to find this one. I went on a lot of first meets from online dating sites but there was absolutely no chemistry. I never used to believe in chemistry but the minute I met him, I wanted to grab him and kiss him. We had been emailing and talking on the phone, and he had his picture on match. He's much cuter than that picture though. -
He's not selfish really. He is just clueless. He was married for 25 years and I am the only other person he has had sex with. It's mostly my fault for not saying anything. I really can't figure out which position we would have to be in for me to help myself. I don't really like being on top as I have this problem with getting UTI's and that is one sure way I will get one. It hasn't seemed to matter anyway. My body is just not co-operating.

How do you deal with social functions. I am at goal but having a hard time staying there. Everywhere I go, there are too many temptations.
-
I sent in a friend request. I definitely need help with how you cope with being around people who are eating junk. It's summer now and with all the camping, picnics, etc there is bad food everywhere. I am really struggling with taking off the 5 lbs I gained last weekend because all week long people were offering me junk. I am an emotional eater as well. I am also a binge eater. I do very well for so long then all of a sudden, the candy/chocolate craving gets a strong hold on my brain. Being at goal is great, but I am having a hard time staying there. I don't think a fill would help me. I have good restriction, it's those slider junk foods that are a problem . I would have to get a fill so tight that I wouldn't be able to eat.
-
How many fills did it take till everything felt just right?
Oregondaisy replied to Heatherooni's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Head hunger is definitely much stronger than stomach growling I am starving hunger. I do so well as long as there is nothing around to tempt me. When I go to social functions, I have to repeat in my head over and over, that I am on a diet. People have said this is not a diet, it's a new way of life. However, if I don't tell myself I am on a diet, some how my brain thinks I can eat anything I want. The only way a fill would help me at this point is being so tight I can't eat. I have perfect restriction but chocolate just slides right down so easy -
It just sucks because 10 years ago, I had no problem. I could have multiple orgasms from penetration. Menopause is the pits! My bf and I haven't been together all that long, just a couple of months. I haven't given him the pleasure of a bj yet because I am not getting off at all during all the times we have had sex. He sure has though. No viagra for this guy. I have been thinking that tonight I am going to tell him we aren't doing anything until he makes sure I get off.

BBk, I am so glad you found some more! I bet they are adorable. We have had a lizard, a rat, a bird cat and dog, but never hamsters. They are really cute. I am glad you girls took it well! -

You have it backwards. It's pb stands for productive burp. Sometimes it's easy. You burp and food comes up with it. Sometimes it can be all out puking when food is stuck and won't go through the band. Good luck to everyone! We have a lot of new bandsters here. I hope all of you have a very easy recovery and welcome to bandland! -
It is ridiculous how fast I gain too when I fall off the low carb wagon. I gained 5 lbs last weekend from a family reunion where there was so much good food. I have been trying to be good this week and take that 5 off but my bf brought over a huge cheese cake at the beginning of the week. I finally gave the rest of it to my daughter. I really needed it out of the house! Weekends are always my downfall!

Are there any low bmi's who talk often?
Oregondaisy replied to annestoy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The sleeve is just when they make you a tiny stomach. They do cut off most of your stomach. But there is no after care. You don't have to worry about fills, unfills, erosion, slips, etc. If you're having plateaus, it's perfectly normal. sometimes our bodies just need to take time to get used to being at a new weight and then it will start to drop again. -
I don't think you need to puree it as long as you take the fork and chop it up well. I got stuck once on egg salad in the beginning, so it is possible to get stuck during mushies. Make sure you take small (itty bitty) bites and go slow to see how it goes down.

Good luck Orea and Beverly. Soon you'll be in bandland. Bandland is happy land. I hope both of you have as easy a recovery time as I had. -
How many fills did it take till everything felt just right?
Oregondaisy replied to Heatherooni's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am at my sweet spot and it's a battle anyway. I get very full from little tiny portions but unfortunately, our brains aren't banded. I can be completely full but I still crave junk food. I really think it's like a obsessive compulsive disorder. The only thing I can do is not have anything bad in the house, but that doesn't help me when all my friends want to go to lunch and then they order dessert.
