Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

It can be overwhelming how many pages go by if you miss a few days on this thread. The view first unread tab does not seem to work for me. It always just brings me to the last post. I am glad to see you back Penny. I thought you were a guy for a long time, since your user name is Rugman!
  2. I am honored to be your first visitor. If you come to Coos Bay for a fill, let me know and maybe we can get together!

    The powder room

Good! I like that thread even though it does get very personal.

    Ahem...very personal :)

The guys can post in here if they want to. Girls post in the men's room. Sometimes it's good to get a guy's opinion. Post knowing there are people both men and women who lurk. Anyone can be reading in here, just not posting.

    banded and depressed

I will just say again that if you are constantly throwing up, you need to have a slight unfill. You are too tight and that is what is causing your problems.
  6. sugar free fudgesicles are made by the popsicle brand. I find them at Walmart, but honestly, they are in all the stores here, and I live in a very small town.
  7. You do have to use some willpower with the band. Unfortunately, Cookies and candy go through the band just fine. The band will help make you eat small portions, but if sweets are your problem, it will take willpower to not eat the wrong things. Sweets are my problem. Ice cream in particular. If I am in a bad mood, I want to eat ice cream. I keep sugar free fudgesicles in the house and do not buy cartons of ice cream.

    It hurts to eat/drink

Does it hurt when you drink something like a Protein drink? Maybe you aren't ready for mushie foods yet. My doctor had us on liquids for 4 weeks. I know all doctors have different post op diets, but if you try liquids and you still feel pain, then yes, I would call the doctor.

    banded and depressed

you need to have some of your fill removed. This is not how the band is supposed to work. I can eat anything I want in small portions. I eat small meals and I don't throw up. You need to call your doctor and let him/her know what is going on.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

It's hard getting back into the swing of things after going crazy on vacation. I don't know why I do this to myself. I know what makes me gain weight, but for some reason I think when I am on vacation, all the rules go out the window. Thank goodness for the band cause I know I can take it off now that I am back to the gym.

    Boo Boo Kitty's PS Journey

You can do it Brandy. You are the one that busted your butt in the gym at 4am. that takes dedicatiton. You know what it takes now to not gain weight and will get through this time without a gain. I have confidence in you.

Oh missy, how scarey! sending prayers!

    The powder room

I posted the rules in the one thread called Ahem., very personal, that tends to be more graphic and said that things need to be said in a tasteful manor and that the rules must be followed whether it's the powder room, rants and raves, etc. I hope that tones down the very graphic posts which have generated some complaints sent into the moderators.

    Ahem...very personal :)

That is exactly what I have been saying. I told them that just because we talk about sex does not make it obscene or pornographic. I just wanted people to be aware how they word things so we don't break any lbt rules. The rules are posted at the top of the forum, and they are the same for any of the forums, whether it be in here, rants and raves etc. I totally agree that if anything being discussed in here make anyone uncomfortable, they have plenty of other places to discuss other issues or their bands. There is room for everyone here to be happy as long as everyone follows the rules. I have copied the rule in question so everyone is clear about this issue. I DO NOT want the powder room closed! Obscenity and pornography will not be tolerated. If that’s what you’re after, there are plenty of places on the Internet to find it, and this forum isn't one of them. Please make sure all opinions are expressed without being obscene or offensive.

    Ahem...very personal :)

The mods have been getting some complaints about the powder room breaking rules. The rules state that there can be no profanity, obsenity or anything to be considered in a pornagraphic nature. I told them we are not talking about pornography, but we do have to be careful of the wording and talking about sex tasefully or we will be in danger of losing the poweder room. I definitely don't want to see that happen. I wasn't saying to move this to the singles forum for that reason. I meant that a lot of single people have issues that are good to share. We all didn't have some of these issues when we were heavier and didn't feel good enough about ourselves to date. Being thinner and what comes with that, opens a whole new can of worrms, so to speak.

    Low Carb Banders Unite

I do that. I can't do my cardio in the morning unless I eat carbs. I eat a high fiber cereal because whole grains are not supposed to spike the blood sugar. Plus when I am totally low carb I am so constipated, that I can't take it! Fiber one has come out with a new cereal that has 50% of the daily needs for fiber and it's not very high in calories.

    A thread for Single Bandsters

April, that is great news! Having the right restriction makes all the difference in the world. Fanny, I used to feel that way too, when guys would ask me for a picture and then stop writing to me when I sent it. Now, I can say I haven't been this happy in years and years!

    Ahem...very personal :)

Very interesting! You should all post on the singles thread. We have all gone through a lot together, learning to live differently, living the single bandster life. Can't wait to hear how this plays out. I am betting it's not so easy for him to forget the other night.
  20. Exactly. LapBandTalk is organized in a way that makes it easy to focus on lapband issues, if that is what you want to do. Some people don't like rants and raves. Should it be deleted because some people don't like it? Of course not. Same with the other WLS forums. Again I will say, this is Alex's board, and he has the right to do anything he pleases with it. I am just greatful that he started LapBandTalk and does such a wonderful job with it. I am addicted to it, and it's great to have this addiction taking over my food addiction!

I hate it when people post just to post.....

Congratulations! There are so many pregnant bandsters these days! Congratulations to all of you. Babies are so wonderful. I am enjoying my little 4 month old grandson more than I can say.
  22. I don't even want to see this board being compared to OH. Lapband talk is very organized. I see no problem with having the other surgeries listed. It's Alex's board, to do with as he pleases. I don't go visiting the other WLS section, because I have no interest in other WLS at this point. It's very easy for us to go to the forums we are interested in, and ignore the ones that we aren't interested it. I really don't get why this would be a big deal.

I Want to be a LOSER!!

It depends on what you are eating and how much exercise you are doing. For the most part, I can't eat carbs and lose any weight. I can eat high Fiber Cereal, that are whole grain, but no potatoes, noodles, rice, etc. It would help if you posted your calories for the day and what kinds of foods you are eating, and how much exercise you are doing each week.

    desperate please help

Sorry, but it's very common to not feel like you have had a fill for the first couple of fills. Try to get another one as soon as your doctor will allow it.
  25. Oregondaisy

    Ahem...very personal :)

I agree with that. I am not saying everyone is like me. Most people know themselves pretty well, and something that may feel good at the moment, may cause people to feel bad later on.
