Honestly, I can eat anything I want. My band has loosened up and I haven't had a fill since Dec. I don't want one either. I don't want to go back to food getting stuck. I eat small portions of anything I want and chew very well. I believe that is how the band is supposed to work.

Susan I am so glad to hear your band is back in place. I am glad that didn't take too long! -
Semi-Embarrassing Question For The Ladies... (Sex-Related)
Oregondaisy replied to Angelyco's topic in The Gals' Room
Yea, I have the ball and I do sit ups on it occasionally. I had planned to be more consistent but we all know how that goes. Maybe we can find a better use for the ball? -

There is another unisom that has a different ingredient in it than the benadryl one. It used to work very well for me, but not anymore. -
I know nothing about insurance but have heard you have to have a bmi of about 40 for most insurance companies. I self paid and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I took out a 2nd mortgage on my house.

Denied because of psych eval... why?

Gee, maybe that is why I have been successful. My husband had an accident and died, and then my fiance got stomach cancer and died. -
Semi-Embarrassing Question For The Ladies... (Sex-Related)

Okay I am not getting the ball thing either. I don't want to have to search around to find the directions. I need some detailed instructions. He lays on his back on the ball? Weight is not an issue for us but I never like to be on top for very long. -

I tried Lunesta too. It didn't work at all and gave me that horrible taste in my mouth too. -

I never had to take any kind of written test. I just sat there and talked to the lady and she said I would be a great candidate for the band. They say not to let the person get deep into your past. If you tell them you have problems with eating too large of portions, you should pass with flying colors. -
How the Lap-Band actually works, fills and refills
Oregondaisy replied to Wendell Edwards's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am not exactly sure where the ticker instructions are. I think they are under frequently asked questions. You can put ticker into the thread search and it should come up. WRTBILL: It's very common for a fill to change within the first couple of weeks. They say there is swelling around the stomach after a fill and that can mess with restriction. Restriction will change until you get close to goal as the fat pad around your stomach shrinks. I don't think that in that big of a band that is too big of a fill. It all depends on the person though. What is too much for one person could be not enough for another person. -

My dr will only give me 14 Ambien per month so that is why I take the restoril on the other nights. My problem is both. I can't fall asleep and if I do, I wake up quickly. I can sleep about 6 hours with these medications. Oh yeah, the attorney boss of mine has her husband working in the office too. He is the "office manager" I know which one wears the pants in that family. -

I have a question for you Plain. I didn't know you knew anything about insomnia. What about chronic insomnia? If I don't take ambien or restoril, I don't sleep at all. I know it's a crutch, but before that, I was trying to live on about 2 hours of sleep. I couldn't fall asleep, and if I did, I was awake after a couple of hours and not able to go back to sleep. It's a huge issue for me. I am glad I get along so well with my daughter. I wouldn't want her complaining about me. She is like my best friend. I think I am going to ask my bosses husband tomorrow what he thinks about the fact that the druggie boyfriend was arrested for selling meth. It was in the newspaper, so how can they deny that. Of course now she is saying he really wasn't her bf just a friend and she won't be friends with him anymore. -

DeeDee, you are indeed in bandster hell. It's the healing phase not the dieting phase. Things will get much better when you get a couple of fills. Until then, don't beat yourself up and eat and drink protein when you are hungry. We have all been through it. -
I would hate to have to go back and read all 28 pages. It's been really nice to have people to discuss these things with and not have to talk about it and be embarrassed. I have a couple of close friends I could talk about this stuff with, but they are no longer having sex because of menopause and husbands with ED. It's sad really. Just because I am almost 56, does not mean I want to feel like an old lady. My bf who is going to be 57 soon has the sex drive of a teenager.

Choking during sleep! Need advice!
Oregondaisy replied to BansterNYC's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You know, I am hearing more and more stories like this. It's downright scary. I have no band problems most of the time, but sometimes I feel like I have a time bomb inside me. I have a good friend who is a nurse who had her band removed because of all the problems it was causing her. She had the revision surgery to a sleeve too. She said there are a lot of people that can't even have the sleeve because the band did too much damage to their stomach. I am glad you were able to get the sleeve. I may end up with one someday too. Sometimes I think it's just a matter of time until people start having band problems. There just aren't enough people around who have had it for a number of years to tell if it's going to be okay long term. -

Yay! It's always good to read about problems that have been solved. I still have this problem if I take my medications too late before bed. I think it's because I think they have gone down, when actually they are stuck and they come back up. I really need to remember to take all my pills earlier. -
You both sound too tight to me. The band may loosen on it's own as you lose fat around your stomach. You should be able to eat tiny bites of meat the size of an eraser as long as you chew it up until it's liquid in your mouth, without experiencing any pain of any kind.

I am so happy for all of you! I remember when people asked what my goal weight was and I said the only goal I have is not to shop in plus sizes anymore. It's so much fun trying on clothes that you think might fit and end up having them be too big instead of too small. I had a very stressful day today and somebody brought chocolate truffles to work today. I am afraid I had more than my share. I will not get on the scale for a couple of days. I am glad tomorrow is gym day. -

Green, it's so nice to see you again. I'm glad to read you kicked cancer's butt. I have been voting too BBK and my DD gave the addy to her friends so you have a bunch more people voting too. Froggi I am sorry to hear about your troubles with Asthma. I thought there was a way to get these things for free from the drug companies who provide assistance for things like that. I hope I haven't missed anyone. My work still sucks. Oh Susan! I am sorry to hear about your slip. Was it the stomach virus that caused this? -

You can also go to forums and from there user cp. It will show all the threads you're subscribed to. I used to get an email anytime someone posted in a thread I am subscribed to, but for some reason, the emails stopped. Now I just go to user CP -
okay I just got home from going to the larger city. BF wanted to go and see his son. I suggested a stop at one of those stores that sell the toys. BF ended up in the car and said that place made him very uncomfortable. I have to admit, I felt lost in there. Finally a nice young woman came over to help. I ended up spending money on something that does not work. This whole situation is so annoying. I am glad I will see the gyn doctor on Thurs. I am going to ask for testosterone cream. I have heard that is what women in my age group need to get that thing down there working again. She better not turn me down or I will probably bomb the office.

Good. You will get all kinds of support over in the 50's thread. There are a lot of new people getting banded in that group. Most of us do lose slower as we get older, especially the people who have problems with exercise due to sore knees, etc.

Mommy Dearest, thanks for making sure I never feel happy!

I will continue to vote for you every day. All you can do is thank your mother for her concern, and say I appreciate the concern but tell her you have it under control. -

It's a problem. It says submit vote but nothing happens. It's frustrating. I didn't do that on my daughter's computer. -
Chrisann, Go to the forums at the top of the page at plenty offish. There are a lot of categories to participate in. I do more reading than posting. You could go into the ask a guy section and tell them about your 'friend" all the guys will give their opinion on whether they think deep down he want to be more than friends. The sex and sexuality forum is also good reading.
