I have never measured by cup size. I can eat a portion about the size of my palm. That includes mostly protein and a small amount of veggies.

This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!
Oregondaisy replied to WASaBubbleButt's topic in Rants & Raves
That is so crazy. Why would anyone get that surgery? I can't even believe they are still doing that surgery when people have these kinds of problems. sheesh! -
Do you want this thread moved to the Post op Support or General support section? I am not sure if you are asking what to do when food gets stuck, or what to do when you plateau? I went on a very long plateau. I did not lose 2 lbs a week ever. I lost and then plateaued, then all of a sudden I would drop about 5 lbs and go on another long plateau. There are a lot of people who are willing to help, but I don't think we are clear on what you are asking.

I am sorry if I scared you SickNTired. My band is just fine. I am just a worry wart. It's like Mac said, slippage and erosion are possible and I am sure you must know that. I should stay out of the complications section of this board. I had just never heard of the sleeve when I got my band. I just like the idea of never having to worry about a fill ever again. -
Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Flowers, that is awful about your car. I would be freaking out too! No wonder you're stressed. I put nuskin over my incisions. It's like liquid bandage. I don't know if that is a help to anyone or not. I take probiotics. Mine is a powder that I keep in the fridge and mix with water. Thank goodness. I don't think I could get any more pills down. Take pills with warm water. Warm opens the band. whatever you can cut up, make them smaller. I have some little capsules that sometimes come back up. I just take them again with a lot of warm water. I used to be able to take a handful of pills all at once. Now it's one at a time, a lot of warm water and wait to see if it's stuck. -
ORGASM, why is my PORT area givin me a PROBLEM?
Oregondaisy replied to JerseyGirl2u's topic in The Gals' Room
my port never bothered me at all until recently. It feels like something is pulling when I do certain activities, not necessarily sex though. Somebody told me it's scar tissue. -

Mac I am glad you are around so I can ask you questions as you get farther away from surgery. I am considering at some point having my band removed and getting a sleeve. Having a band around my stomach scares me. (Especially if I go into the complications section of he board) I actually talked a friend out of getting the band and getting a sleeve. -

sorry flowers, didn't mean to make you feel unwelcome! I feel so bad for everyone who is having problems right after surgery. I was so lucky. I really would not have been able to tell I had surgery if I didn't see the little marks were not all over my tummy. I am having problems with acid reflux in the middle of the night. It freaks me out. Something starts to come up while I am sound asleep. I have been taking my medications earlier and trying not to eat anything after dinner and that helps. My #$$%% doctor was no help at all. He just gave me nexium and said not to worry about it. I would like to have a test to make sure everything is alright in there. I am not even sure what test I am supposed to ask for. I will have to wait until the first of the year now though because I have a $1,000 deductible. People did not notice that I lost weight in the beginning either. I was too cheap to go out and buy new clothes until my clothes were just about falling off of me. When I had clothes that fit me, that is when people noticed. -
I am about to give up can anyone help me?!?!
Oregondaisy replied to stephyd's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you taking tiny eraser size bites of meat and chewing it until it's liquid? then waiting and see if it goes down before trying another bite? -
I am doing good avoiding sugar today. Hope I make it through the evening. That's my worse time. Supposedly, carbonation can stretch the pouch. I have never heard of that it can cause a slip. Most of us just say it makes us feel like something is stuck . Like a burp is stuck and won't come out . It's uncomfortable.

I have not heard of this before. I can't say I know of anyone else who has ever mentioned this. Getting your port moved sounds like a good idea. -
Happy Birthday Alex! I hope you have a fabulous birthday. I am so glad you started this site because we are all now LBT addicts. It's so much nicer to spend time here rather than spending that time eating!

I can't believe I fell asleep during Grey's . That's what happens with insomnia. I can't sleep and the next day I am a wreck. Of course this short little nap right before bedtime did not help last night's sleep at all. Maybe we can watch it online? off to wish Alex a Happy Birthday! His BD is very close to mine. -

That's a great idea. It's nice when someone else has given a movie a good review so when you go to rent one, you have something in mind. Froggi sorry, I was a self pay. I would go nuts too if I had to wait for an insurance company to make up their minds. We will keep our fingers crossed for you. Susan I hope you're not in too much pain. My dr. said I can take anti inflamatories if I drink plenty of Water to flush it through the pouch. I have flannel sheets on my bed all year long except for about one month which is usually August. I am always cold too. -
Most foods have the nutrition information right on the label. They will say if there is sugar alcohol in them. Are you going to have trouble giving up the diet coke when you get your band? We aren't supposed to have anything carbonated.

I have to say I honestly don't think I could live without ambien. I am so thankful I have no bad side effects from it. Can't wait to see pictures of the puppies. My daughter's beagle had puppies and they were so adorable. -

I am with you on this one. Hardly anyone knows I am banded. I didn't want to listen to anyone's comments either. The band has been helpful, but it's not what keeps me from eating candy and ice cream. I am the one who forces myself to the gym every day. When people ask me, I tell them I eat less and exercise every day. -
Boo Boo Kitty's PS Journey
Oregondaisy replied to Boo Boo Kitty's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Great news BBK and Shelly! Restriction makes all the difference in the world. I just wish it would take away my cravings for chocolate ice cream -
I can't eat anything with any type of sugar alcohol in it. It's way too embarrassing. The gas is so loud it sounds like a freight train. That malitol stuff is bad news. I am going to try hard to give up all sugar. All it does is snowball and make me want more. The nutritionist at my last support group said our bodies don't even know the difference between sugar free either, and it will do the same thing. That's depressing.

What was your "Sweet Spot" when it came to fills?
Oregondaisy replied to Cassy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You need to read the thread in the fill section that is written by Wendall Wdwards. It's called " How the lap band actually works fills and refills. The sweet spot will not last if you have not removed the fat pad around your stomach. Most people do get good restriction at about 3-4 fills, but it may not last. -
Thanks Plain. He's just going to have to get used to them or put his hand to good use. I didn't get a UTI this time, and that is worth it regardless of any slight difference he felt.

How the Lap-Band actually works, fills and refills
Oregondaisy replied to Wendell Edwards's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have never had a fill take 4 weeks to take effect. I can usually tell the next day how it's going to work. Shelly Bill left today to come down there and I so wanted to to be able to come too. I really want to be a snow bird and I am going to have to figure out how to make that happen. This weather is sucking badly here, and I know how gorgeous it is down there this time of year. -
Oh that sounds yummy. I really need to totally get sweets out of my system so that I don't crave them. I have had bad cravings lately. I am hoping with my bf gone on vacation I will do much better this week. He is the one who does all the snacking in front of me and that makes it difficult. I don't know how people do it with husbands and kids around all the time.

Blackcherry, Does your partner feel that they are thin enough? Mine wants one that feels like he does not have one on. I am not at all sure that is possible.
