Today is tuesday the day Baskin and Robbins has their one dollar cones. I am going to be strong today. I was not strong at work today. Somebody brought pie in. Why can't I look at the stuff and think it looks good, but I want to lose the 5 lbs I gained! I need to change my thinking.

It sounds pretty good but you could be sensitive to carbs. Banana's are high in carbs. Can you take a potassium supplement? You're getting carbs from the rice and the oatmeal. Let's see what other people say.

I'm Revising from Band to a Sleeve
Oregondaisy replied to 4meonly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Are you having to pay for this out of pocket? I really want to get a revision too but it's a matter of money. I wish I had known about the sleeve from the very beginning. -
So if you have reflux at night, the test to ask for is an upper GI? I am fine in the day time. no heartburn, I can eat small portions. It's just at night and not every night, I feel like I am throwing up in my sleep. I am not sure what to do . The dr gave me nexium but that doesn't really stop the night time throwing up.

You haven't said whether you are eating a lot of carb foods. Carbs will definitely slow down the weight loss. What kinds of things do you eat for your main meals?

Can you tell me which test you think I should ask for to find out what is going on in there? There was a lady that posted that she was fine in the daytime, no heartburn, could eat fine, but acid reflux at night. turns out she had a slip. -
Gee, that really has me scared now. That is exactly my problem. I am fine in the day time. At night, I cough and something comes up. I am going to support group tomorrow and I am going to tell the nurse I want a test. When I called about this, she gave me nexium and said not to worry about it. Now I can tell her in front of all the new people that someone here on LBT was just like me, fine in the daytime. Thank you so much for posting this.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I am not sure because we don't have any liquid probiotics in our grocery stores here. They are only in the health food stores. There are some pills in the drug stores for acidophilus, but I don't think they are as good as the powder I get from the health food store. Sorry I am not more help. -

Do you think you could have a kidney infection? That is a terrible pain in the lower back. I hope that is not the case! -

It's a really bad thing about the band that the junk goes down just fine. I was never a chip eater either, but now I sometimes crave salty. I feel your pain. -

I am trying really hard to avoid this by not eating at night and taking my medications earlier. I am taking Previcid or Nexium whichever my dr. gives me samples of. I do want to convert to a sleeve. It's a money issue right now. I called my dr. and he didn't seem to think it was any big deal or that I needed a test to make sure everything is okay in there. Should I insist on a test and which one? I am very loose and don't have any daytime problems. I am not getting another fill even though I can eat ANYTHING I want, because I am so worried about this night time issue. I am sorry Mac, if I scared Newbies on the post to post thread. I just feel like I have a time bomb inside me, and I don' t have the money to convert to sleeve right now. I don't have any acid reflux or heartburn in the day time. What should I do, Bubble. You know I respect your opinion highly! -

Thanks for that information Mac. This night time reflux makes me never want to get another fill so the band is not working up to it's maximum potential for me. -
I had weight watchers fudge brownie ice cream just now. not doin too good giving up ice cream completely, but at least this is a small amount and 140 calories.I am not even sure how many calories would be in baskin and robbins for one scoop, but it's probably around 400.

Those fiber one bars are great. They have a lot of fiber in them which is hard for bandsters to get, and they are very satisfying. They even have the mark of Ophras guru diet master Bob Green as being a good food. -
I drink a protein shake every day. That's about 25 grams of protein right there. chicken, fish and cottage cheese all have a lot of protein in them.

The thread should be in general lap band support now. Please feel free to ask anything. Most people who are having trouble losing log their food into sparkpeople.com or the daily plate, to count the calories. You should be eating mostly Protein and a little bit of veggies. If you are too tight, people tend to eat high calorie slider foods that go through the band easily, such as mashed potatoes. Please tell us how much you're exercising and what a daily's menu looks like so we can get an idea of what 's going on.

I can take care of moving the thread for you. I am going to move it to the General Support forum. There are a lot of people who are slow losers and they can give you advice. Things to watch out for are, are you eating a lot of carbs? do you track your calories and exericse?

Are you guys having any trouble taking meds? I remember when I saw you in Aug. Bubble, you said you could hardly drink very much at once. I worry about all the meds I am taking and how I would get them down. This nighttime reflux is getting bad. -

I get the probiotics at a local health food store. It's not a chain. It's called Intestinal Care DF. The label says Ethical Nutrients. I am not sure which one of those is the brand but if you go to a health food store, I am sure they would have something similar. -

Ungury makes an unflavored protein powder that I have heard you can mix in just about anything. There is also the isopure, that sort of tastes like crystal light. Do you have access to a GNC? -

It is my understanding that they use the part of the stomach that is not stretchy. We will find out how well that works as more people get the sleeve. -

Don't worry. We have all had those same thoughts. What are you drinking for Protein? Have you tried different Protein Drinks? There are some good recipes in the food section on here for changing the taste of the protein drinks. Some people do gain a little bit of weight back when they move on to mushy foods. Once you get your fills and are only able to eat small portions, things change. Move around the board and you will find answers to your questions and lots of support. We are all good at helping each other. You have come to the right place! -

It's easier when you completely get sugar out of your system for 3 days. It's hard to get through those 3 days. Eating sugar just makes us crave more sugar. Once you get it out of your system, the cravings go away. I have often wished that sugar made me sick the way it does people who have had RNY. Sugar has been my downfall my entire life, and unfortunately, the band just doesn't help with that. -

I totally agree. I knew the RNY was just too scary for me, but I never even knew a sleeve was an option.
