Sat. is my birthday and I can feel a few lbs coming on already. Fri. night my girlfriends are taking me out to dinner and Sat. my bf and my kids are all going to dinner. The restaurant we are going to (which I picked) has "big fat chocolate cake" on their menu. It's like 4 layers. I have a serious cold stone addiction. Lucky for me, I can only go there when I go to visit my dad in Arizona. I go for the chocolate ice cream with brownies and Peanut Butter mixed in. Last time I was there, I got the largest size, and it took me all day and into the evening to eat it. I could only eat a little bit, then I would stick it into the freezer. Oh well, back to the good food plan on Sunday. I am being really good this week in preparation for the weekend.

Dinner ideas for someone that does not like to cook to another- I buy the already cooked chickens from Walmart a lot. I like the lemon pepper one. The others are too salty. It takes me 4 days to finish one. There is also bbq chicken in tub that I buy and rinse off most of the bbq sauce. Sometimes I make a meat loaf out of ground turkey and I can eat that for several days. I am burned out on salad. I also eat a lot of protein bars and shakes. I hate cooking so much that popping open a can of Atkins drink is fine with me. Lunch time I eat turkey pastrami and low fat swiss cheese and roll it up. Somewhere on this thread there were links to several low carb recipe sites.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
Oregondaisy replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
deedee, I have never had a fill take awhile to kick in. I can tell the next day how it's going to be. If you're not having trouble with bread, but you did with the pork chop, you probably took too big of a bite. We are supposed to cut our meat into eraser sized bites and chew it up until it's liquid in our mouths. I haven't had a fill in almost a year, so I don't have those problems anymore. I can eat anything I want without any trouble. I could use a fill, but I don't want any acid reflux problems so I just continue to eat small meals. -

Gee, maybe you could start working 24 hours a day instead of only 18, so you could loan me the money:tongue2::pray2::grouphug: -
A thread for Single Bandsters

I will be anxious to find out what is wrong. I have liver problems myself. I took an anit depressant for years that was taken off the market because it causes liver failure. -
Right below your ticker there is a button called edit post. click on that and it brings you back to the screen where you wrote your post. It's simple.

A thread for Single Bandsters
Oregondaisy replied to NewBeginnings2018's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That's great news! I hope all of us on this singles thread finds the person of our dreams. Missy, is your bf all better? What happened with his liver problem? -
I don't have a clue. She has certainly proved it to herself and everyone else, that she can't do it on her own. She now claims to have thyroid problems.

This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!

I used to put jello instant pudding ( just a little bit) into my protein shakes to make them taste better. I thought the cheese cake flavor was pretty good in the vanilla ones. -
Pre-op Diet Question
Oregondaisy replied to falcon66's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most doctors do want people to try to shrink their liver. Some people do Protein shakes for Breakfast and dinner and meat and veggies for dinner. I would call your doctor and specifically ask him if he wants you on a pre op diet. -

I am determined this week to go carb/sweets free. My birthday is sat. and I want to have something on their menu called "big fat chocolate cake" I know I will gain a couple lbs from it, but hopefully by being good all week long, I will have a little wiggle room. -
Right now I would love to take a 2 by 4 and smack him with it. I would have exercised but the fight we had was pretty late at night and I hardly slept at all because I was so upset. I was too worn out to go to the gym, which is just not like me.

I'm Revising from Band to a Sleeve
Oregondaisy replied to 4meonly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I completely agree Mac . I feel like I have a time bomb in my stomach just waiting to hurt me. I have heard of so many people whose bands eroded into their stomach and did damage. I hope I can get the money to get revised. In the mean time, by band is really loose and I think that's best for my stomach so I am not getting a fill, even though I sure could use one. -

Why? did you meet someone? My bf and I are going through another rough patch. He is not good at all about resolving problems. His way is to ignore them and hope they will go away rather than talking things out. I just copied a "feelings list" off the internet. I am going to have to force him to have a talk with me this week. We had a really bad weekend. It makes me sad when we disagree and he thinks the best thing to do is for him to go home rather than talk about it. -
I don't know where my post went. If I were to go to Mexico, I would go to Alberto Aceves. He has a fabulous reputation and they pick you up from San Diego. I have heard nothing but wonderful reports from all his patients and they say his hospital is like being in a first class hotel.

I'm Revising from Band to a Sleeve
Oregondaisy replied to 4meonly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The reason I would like to revise to a sleeve is because I don't like the idea of a band around my stomach. It sounds dangerous to me. When I think of a tight rubber band around my finger for a day, and what the end of my finger looks like at the end of the day, then I think about the band being there. Ultimately, I think it's dangerous. I would like to get the sleeve before I have problems from the band. I already have occasionally acid reflux, and I am afraid this is the beginning of problems to come. Plus I like the idea of never having to worry about another fill. -

Froggi I found a big frog in my yard this time. Usually they are little tiny ones, about an inch long. This one was way bigger with a big fat belly. It was hiding by my rain gutter. -

I am going to try my best to do really good this week. This Sat is my birthday and no doubt I will be having chocolate cake and who knows what else fattening for dinner that night. I have really been struggling with sweet addictions. I need a fill but I am afraid to get one with the way I sometimes throw up in my sleep. -
I was very bad today. My bf and I had a fight so all I could think about was ice cream. I had a blizzard earlier and just now I had a double scoop at Baskin and Robbins. I basically have had no good food today just junk.

I have decided starting Monday to try to stick to my guns and give up sugar. I will not let my self have just a bite of this or that. If someone brings forbidden foods to work, I will just have to stay strong. I really want to lose the 5 lbs I have gained and lose 5 more. That will never happen until I get the sugar out of my system.

when I had that test, I was not allowed to exercise for 48 hours before the test. I had to get right out of bed with nothing to eat or drink and go straight to the clinic. It showed I burn 1200 calories just sitting and breathing. The doctor never said anything about it being able to tell how many calories I had been eating. Congratulations SickNTired. I never got the shoulder pain right after surgery. I got it later on down the road, off and on. At first I thought it was bursitis or something. Then I started reading posts about people having left shoulder pain after a fill, or if they ate too much etc. It finally did go away. Congratuations Froggie! I am happy for you. Now you can stop worrying. Do you have your surgery date yet? -
I know. I tell her all the time if she is not going to use the band the way she is supposed to, then there was no sense in even having it. If nothing else, she may as well get all of her fill taken out. She eats bandster portions but scarfs down junk food all day long.

Starr Jones had gastric bypass. A lot of gastric bypass patients do gain the weight back. Band people can gain the weight back too, as some people learn to eat around the band. I have a friend that got banded and is heavier than she has ever been. She has good restriction, but that does not stop her from eating cake frosting with a spoon.

If you have the sleeve, why would you need the band. Have you stretched your stomach? I know more people who have the band and are getting it removed to get the sleeve.
