I had to download a plug in to use the new chat room. I had no problem looking at people's profiles by right clicking on their name. Everyone is happy that when the people sign in, the names are in alphabetical order again.

A thread for Single Bandsters

yeah, I have heard of people using baby spoons and stuff. I don't do that. I try to just eat slowly and take very small bites. If the meat is dry, I keep chewing until basically there is nothing left to chew. I have been having some problems with acid reflux as well. I see my dr. next week. Do you think when you ate the meat out of the burrito that you chewed it up very well? -

I am having trouble losing the 5 lbs I gained over the summer. I go up and down 5 lbs and can't seem to stay at the down 5. Now with the holidays coming, I am sure it's not going to be easier. I could use a fill but I am afraid to get one because it's so nice not to get food stuck anymore. Plus I have been having some acid reflux problems and that is not good. I see the dr. next week. -

cr@p! I don't want to pay $400 for fluoro ! I really need to come down there. I am not really having problems anymore but I just would rather be safe than sorry. There is someone who posted on here recently that went for a fill with fluoro and found out she had a slip with no symptoms at all.
-
I am going to have an x ray of my stomach next week. I hope they are able to tell if I have a slip from that. They said an x ray of my stomach is $75 and flouro is $400. I have to pay out of pocket anything band related.

What are you eating? Are you sure that you are taking tiny bites? When we say tiny, we mean the size of a pencil eraser. Chew it up until it's liquid in your mouth. Then you need to wait to see if it feels like it's going down. If you do that, and it gets stuck, then you probably do need a little bit taken out. There are certain foods that give a lot of people trouble. Let me know which foods you seem to get stuck on. I am glad to help if I can. -

Fanny, how did you meet your bf? I met mine on match.com . He is great. I am really happy for you. I agree. He is very cute! -
No fair! I was sick today. I was really dizzy. I went to bed and slept for a few hours. That is very unlike me. Then I got up and slimed on a Protein drink. weird. I am fine now. I just ate some cheese with no trouble. I am glad I have a dr.'s appointment next week. They said they would x ray my stomach. They said that would be the cheapest. Can they see a slip with an x ray of the stomach? They said to look at it under flouro would be $400

I eat egg salad, tuna salad, string cheese, taco salad, lunch meat, veggies all but peas carrots or corn. If you go back and read through all the pages of this thread, there are a lot of low carb web sites posted, I do believe. I am not good at much variation in my diet. I don't like to cook just for myself. If I am cooking for my boyfriend, I just eat whatever meat I am fixing and a few veggies. Last night one of the stores had frozen shrimp on sale. They were big shrimp. I cooked them in a little white wine and chopped up garlic. I made some rice for him which I didn't eat, and broccoli. If you put low carb into google, I bet you would get a bunch of web sites with easy things to fix.

I asked my gyn about the G spot and she said that everyone has one but some people's just aren't sensitive or responsive the way other people's are.

My only excuse right now is I do have a job. I take off from work so often to come down there, I have to wait a little bit. Medford is 3 hours from me. I wish I didn't live in the middle of nowhere!

If you take out your fill, you won't have restriction and you will be hungry and want to eat large portions. You need to get the hang of taking itty bitty bites and chewing until it's liquid in your mouth. If you're doing that and still having problems, then yes, you need to have some taken out. Rice is pretty common to give people problems.

I did liquids for 4 weeks. The 2nd week was the hardest. After that, I really didn't mind. It got to be so easy just to pop open a can and never have to plan meals. The best part was watching the scale move every day. I wish it still moved like that! damn chocolate. -

I wish I wasn't 4 hours from Portland. That would make it a lot easier to get out of here. I just saw that there is an airline offering really cheap flights into that Mesa airport you told me about.

It's a capsule. You find it with the vitamins and supplements. My liver dr. feels that if I wasn't taking it, my inflamed liver would have gone to cirrhosis of the liver. He felt that the fact that I had two liver biopsies and that there was no change between the two and that my liver has not gotten worse, means that the milk thistle is keeping it from progressing to cirrhosis. That's why he wanted to wait to repeat the biopsy for at least 5 years this time. If there is still no change, he feels I won't get cirrhosis. This is what it says on the bottle " targeted support to promote healthy liver function" Way to go April. 23 lbs is fabulous for 6 weeks! It's so great when we get the exercise habit and it's no longer a chore, but rather just something that we do as a regular routine. -

If you are sick of protein drinks, try drinkable yogurt and soup. You can have any soup as long as it's blended so there are no big chunks. I found putting cottage cheese into tomato soup to be good. There is protein in it, and it made me feel full. Ungury also has a soup you can buy online, but really, get some soup you like and blend the heck out of it. Most doctors also allow thinned down oatmeal. Make it watery with milk in it. -
I am sure your band is fine if you can eat and drink okay. Glad you will be seeing your doctor soon. He will be able to answer your questions.

I feel your pain. I have always been told I look much younger than my almost 56 years. I have wrinkles now that used to be filled up with fat. I have never tried botox, but if I had the money, I would get a face lift. -

janet I am so glad to see you back. You have been in my prayers. I don't know about the 7 cc's. My band only holds 4 ccs's . I got to my sweet spot at just under 3 cc's. So maybe they have to be almost full? I bet I have no saline left. My surgeon says it "disapates" after awhile. Whatever that means. I can eat anything I want without any trouble. It's so nice never to get food stuck anymore. I just hope I can maintain without getting a fill. I don't feel like shelling out $160.00 and it's so nice to be able to take my medication without trouble now. Good luck to all of our new bandsters. nothing better than being on the bandwagon. -

You know, almonds are very healthy. They raise the good cholesterol. They are not a bad snack. It's not like you should eat handfuls and handfuls, but a few a day is actually recommended.

Well I have had two liver biopsies and they both came back that my liver is inflamed. I am supposed to have another one in 5-7 years and the last one was about 2 years ago. If it hasn't progressed past inflamed to liver disease, he feels I'll be able to live with it. I prefer to forget about it, but it would be nice to know if I am going to get liver cancer. Hope your bf 's tests come back good. Tell your bf to take milk thistle. Get good stuff from the health food store not from like Walmart. My liver dr. swears this stuff really heals the liver. I take it twice a day.
