This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!

I don't get it. why would they need tongs. How did they clean themselves before surgery?

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I really like the atkins and the low carb slim fast. I also like EAS that you get at Walmart. I do add sf syrups too. I get mine at a restaurant supply company. I think you can order then online too . Da Vinci syrups . Try putting them in google. I know a good place to order stuff is netrition.com........They don' tcharge so much for shipping. IT's 4.95 no matter how much you order.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Welcome! If you go to frequently asked questions, there are instructions on how to make a weight loss ticker. Liquids for 6 weeks is a long time. I had to do 4 weeks. There is a food and recipe section on this board too that has good suggestions for that stage. Let us know you have any more questions. We are all glad to help!

I hate it when people post just to post.....

They had deep fried pickles on the menu at the place I went for my birthday dinner. It was strange. Nobody had ever heard of them. I had only heard of them from reading about them here, but I was surprised to see them on the menu. Hope everyone is having a great Halloween and resisting the urges to eat too much candy.

I will be so glad when all the candy disappears off all the counters at the banks, stores, and my office.

    Givin' up the ice cream

You're right. I CAN be stronger than my cravings, if I don't give in to them. Once I do and I think "oh surely one won't hurt" I know it's all over I lost the 3 lbs from the chocolates and I want to lose 10 more. That will be hard during the holidays coming but I have to remember that saying "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" I don't want to buy new pants and that's what will happen if I give in to cravings!

    Low Carb Banders Unite

I am really committed now to get the carbs out of my diet. I did really good yesterday and lost 3 lbs. I really would like to lose 10 more lbs and that will never happen if I think I can cheat a little bit here and there. It always leads to more carbs and I finally have that through my head. I will check out that web site. thanks for posting it.

    heartburn and reflux

I have that problem too and I see the dr. next week. It's not a good thing that is for sure. I am worried about it and I am also worried because my insurance doesn't cover anything band related. I think some sort of test is in order. If I don't eat past about 8:00 the night time vomiting is under control. my bf seems to like to snack on popcorn and i dont dare eat any or I will be in trouble in the middle of the night. I have to be careful too because i take medications in the evenings.

    What no-one told me

Constipation is very normal for banded people. It's hard to get in all the fiber we need when we eat protein first and there is little room for fruits and veggies. Is that what you're talking about?

    Givin' up the ice cream

I love crusty sour dough bread. I have no trouble getting it down if I go out to dinner and they bring a bread basket. unfortunately. I did really good today. I had a healthy breakfast lunch and dinner and no snacks. The scale did call my name this morning and I gained 3 lbs from all the chocolates from yesterday. That was enough to give me good will power today. I hope it lasts. I just have two more temptations coming up. Sunday is a baby shower and I am sure there will be tons of good food there and Monday is the bf's birthday. After that, it's smooth sailing and I can surely get sugar out of my system. I have some appetite suppressants I can take before i go to the baby shower and i think I will do that. Time to bring out the big guns.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I was really dizzy the other day too. It was so strange. It was like being on a carnival ride. the room was spinning around. I ended up going to bed and sleeping for a few hours and that is just not like me. It's gone now, thank goodness.

    Maintenance meal ideas, please

Where do you find this in Walmart? It's not with the other yogurt is it? I have been getting the Walmart brand that is similar to Activia.

You know, I am 100% Greek and I have never had Greek yogurt. Do you find it with all the rest of the yogurt? We don't have Trader Joes here, just Safeway and Walmart.

    Boo Boo Kitty's PS Journey

I haven't had a fill since last Dec. I have no idea if all the fill stays in there. I feel like i don't have much restriction, and I have gained 5 lbs that i can't seem to keep off. I go up and down 5 lbs, but can't seem to stay at the down 5 where I want to be. It's amazing that 5 lbs can make my pants hard to button. I honestly can eat anything I want. I have no trouble with bread or any of the things that used to give me trouble when I got that fill. Do you think it evaporates? I try to eat right, but sometimes it's hard when everyone is going out to pizza, and i have no trouble what so ever eating pizza, and situations like that.

    Major Hairloss..Any suggestions?

So it seems to be as a result of surgery, and not vitamins or anything else. Maybe surgery is just a shock to the system. I know my hair fell out when my husband died suddenly. Another shock to the system.

    Where are my fellow Oregonians?

Are you asking me who did my surgery? Mine was done by Dr. tersigni.

I eat the low fat lite yogurt for Snacks. It's healthy and satisfies my sweet tooth. The Yoplait has some really good flavors. Plus I need the Calcium. If you can eat fruit without trouble , that is a good snack too as us bansters have trouble getting our Fiber in.

    Boo Boo Kitty's PS Journey

She is already smokin hot! I wish I could get it through my brain that one chocolate leads to a bunch more. I think I am going to stick myself back on the liquid protein shake diet to get rid of sugar cravings. The peanut butter chocolate one is so good, I think I would do fine. It's only 120 calories so even if I drank 6 of them per day, it wouldn't be that many calories. I should be able to do that and not feel hungry. I am afraid to get a fill due to acid reflux.

    LapBandTalk CHAT

yeah, it appeared on my screen and I had no problems downloading it. Chat works fine now. It's very different from the old chat, but everyone will get used to it.

    Major Hairloss..Any suggestions?

Most people seem to lose their hair around 4 months past surgery. There doesn't seem to be anything anyone can do about it. I took everything under the sun that was suggested to me before I even had surgery and for one year. I had plenty of Protein and all the things anyone suggested. It just seems to happen, and nobody can explain it. I lost half my hair but it's coming back in. I lost hair from 4months post op until 1 year. It stopped falling out at about one year from surgery. I have been on bioidentical hormones for about 3 years and never stopped for surgery before or after surgery.

    Givin' up the ice cream

I wish I could say the same thing. I was extremely bad today. I ate chocolates all day at work. I was just going to have one, but I should have never had any. Once I got started, I couldn't stop going back to get more. Damn Halloween candy! I ate so much, I actually felt sick. I am not getting on the scale tomorrow!

    Where are my fellow Oregonians?

I really recommend Dr. Tersigni. He is way cheaper than anyone else in Oregon for anyone that has to self pay. His clinic just became a center of excellence which is amazing for such a small clinic. When they came to evaluate him, they said he has the lowest complication rate in the Pacific northwest. They were very impressed with him, his staff, his office and how well kept his records are.

    Givin' up the ice cream

Thank you for all the birthday wishes! I am trying to be good this week. I did gain 2 lbs over my birthday weekend. Unfortunately, my bf's birthday is on Monday. Our birthdays are only 9 days apart. Hopefully, I will have lost what I gained. At least with him, we will only be celebrating on Monday not all weekend long. I am doing good staying away from ice cream, but really having trouble with willpower and wanting to snack in the evenings.
