Should I be mad at my husband for looking at dirty pictures?
Oregondaisy replied to Carrie_C's topic in The Gals' Room
Did you post this in the men's room? I am not sure how many men come in here and lurk about. If it were me, I would be mad too. From what I have heard, it's an addiction and not able to be stopped without help. Good luck  -
So how do you feel when you hear people say Oh so and so lost all that weight but they took the easy way, weight loss surgery?

I lost half mine too. I did everything possible to avoid it just like you Kat. Now I am afraid I am going to lose it again after my sleeve surgery. It's been 2 years since banding, and I still don't have it all back. I do have 6" pieces here and there. My hair is past my shoulders, so at 1/2 " a month, it's going to take awhile. I hope it had to do with weight loss because I don't expect to lose much with sleeve surgery. I hope everyone won't mind me whining when I am on the post op diet. If you do, I will have to whine only to Susan, cause she will be on the same one!Does anyone have any good suggestions for the 10 days of clear beside isopure?I don't think I can handle 10 days on that stuff. I have heard Syntrex is good. -

There are actually some good recipes on this site in the food section for different things people can have while on the liquid stage. -

Helene! You are in my prayers and I will be on pins and needles until we hear from you again. (((Big Hug Helene))) -
I hope your GP knows what to do. People who aren't familiar with the band can give wrong advice. We have a lady on the 50's thread that got all kinds of bad advice for months and she finally found a band surgeon who told her she could die while having the band removed. I am not trying to scare you, but take this very seriously. What you are experiencing is not normal and you need answers soon.

Katy should be in surgery or close to it as the time change over there puts her way ahead of us. Let's all keep her in our prayers tonight. -

Both of you need to go and see your band surgeons. Having band problems is nothing to fool around with. If your band is eroding your stomach, it can become necrotic. you can also damage your esophagus. By the way, what does A & E stand for ?

Actually I do have kids. My dad will be 90 and my daughter will be 28 both on April 1st. My dad has no grey hair either. He's a little bald, but not grey! -
You have a problem and you need an experienced band surgeon to figure it out. You need tests like an esophagram to find out what is going on. Go back to who ever did your surgery and have him take whatever tests are needed.

I am so tired of liquids
Oregondaisy replied to derbin247's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on liquid for 4 weeks. It got easier for me as time went on, but I was careful not to be around people who were eating. Find out from your doctor exactly what you can have. I was told I could have anything blended so there were no chunks in it. I had different Soups at dinner time and blended the heck out of them. It was important to have variety and not the same thing over and over. I could also have egg drop Soup from the Chinese places and those made it more tolerable. Some places do put peas or other stuff in there, so I spit that out. I could also have sf popsicles which I had every evening. -

I got it in a store here that is like a drug store, but they carry groceries too. I am sure you can get it in a health food store but it would be more expensive. I keep seeing ads on tv that they are coming out with it in the bigger grocery stores so soon it should be everywhere. -
Congratulations. I am having my band removed to get the sleeve. Can you tell me what it was like immediately after surgery? Did you have trouble drinking very much Water? Can you tell me what you thought was the hardest part about the first few weeks after surgery?

I have started using Stevia which comes from a plant. You can buy it in little packets. They are going to start selling it in big packages like the Splenda that you use to cook with. I haven't had a problem with it. It's coming out as a brand called Truevia or something like that. -
My bf knows about the band. At first, I told him I had a late lunch, or wasn't feeling well, things like that. I did try to do things with him that didn't involve food. He knows I am always watching my weight. Eventually, I just told him. It was not a big deal. He was happy that I cared enough about myself to do something that would make me more healthy.

I take the Citrical petites. They are pretty easy to get down at this point. I thought you weren't supposed to be hungry and that was the whole point of the sleeve. No hormone that makes hunger?

I am really lucky that at 56 I have no grey hair. I am really worried about losing more hair when I have the sleeve surgery. I can't afford to lose anymore. The stuff that's growing in is growing back curly though. very strange. -

I haven't been as good about going to the gym as I used to be. Things just keep coming up that I need to get done and the mornings is the time free to get that stuff done or go to the gym. I need to buy a DVD that I can do at home, but I have never been very disciplined unless I leave the house with my gym clothes on. -

Why do we have those days when food is constantly on our minds and think about what we can eat next. There are other days that I don't even think about food. I am sure medication plays a big part in it. I looked one of mine up, and it said it increased appetite. Now I don't take that unless I am desperate. It's a sleep med. -

Now a days people don't do the actual sit ups that were done years ago. If you bend your legs and lay on the floor, just reach towards your legs as far as you can.
