You're welcome! Why would I not tell the truth! I have always said I wish more people could meet you to see for themselves how caring you are!

How about bras? They think everyone fat has huge boobs. I wore a 42 B at my highest weight. That was just about impossible to find. Those bra extenders don't work very well either.
-
What breasts? Mine went away when I lost weight. I am barely a B cup now.

My surgery experience (had my surgery 2 days ago)
Oregondaisy replied to RABarras's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would get the sleeve if I were you. The band is a pain in the you know what. The fills are annoying. You have to keep going back to get them until you have restricion. Then you may have restriction, but all of a sudden you are too tight and can't swallow your own spit. Then you need an unfill. The sleeve is done and then you don't have to go back for fills unfills and worry about slips or erosion or any of the other possible band problems. I would have gottten a sleeve if I had known about it, when I got my band. -

Alex, on another thread, people are asking what Ken's role is here at LBT. They don't think he is legit asking for URLs or IP addresses. Maybe you should clarify who he is somewhere in a new post on the board. I am sure everyone wants the best for LBT so it's okay to be leary of someone who people have never heard of and are asking for their IP address. -
I hate it when people post just to post.....

I posted a post in the mod thread and asked Susan to clarify what Ken's role in LBT is. If she doesn't answer soon, I will pm alex and ask him to post in here exactly what Ken's role is here at LBT. Or you can PM Alex if you wish, and ask him to make a post about Ken so people aren't leary of him. -

Ken is legit. He is someone that helps Alex with LBT. He is one of those computer wizzards. -
Dr. Phil seems to have taken a personal interest in her. Maybe he will counsel her kids along the way. They are certainly going to need all the help they can get.

I can assure you that WasA does not work in Mexico. I have met her many times when I go to Phoenix to go and visit my dad. She is a very caring person who cares about people's health. This is an erosion thread. She cares about people who have bands that are eroding their stomach.

I hope she's happy when they are all out of control teenagers!

Who is calling who a winner? It's quite obvious that I have won!

*Susan* revision from band to sleeve
Oregondaisy replied to *susan*'s topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Karey, I hope you get a revision soon. It would be nice to have someone having surgery close to when I am so we can compare notes on how we are feeling, how we are doing with the post op diet, etc. -
*Susan* revision from band to sleeve
Oregondaisy replied to *susan*'s topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Susan, Will you let me know what you order and how you like it? I would prefer not to have to order from several places, and recommendations from other people will help me avoid ordering junk I will be stuck with and not like. -
Left Shoulder Pain After Lap Band Surgery
Oregondaisy replied to vbaum's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can hardly wait for my revision surgery. I will never have left shoulder pain again. It's bad when I work out. I do a weight lifting class and my left shoulder just kills me during that class. I think the band has definitely made my shoulder weaker than the right shoulder. -
Miralax while expensive is a miracle. I use it every other day now as well as a stool softner every day. I still eat tons of fiber and drink over 64 oz of water, but I still had problems until I started using the Miralax. My dr. suggested the miralax and says it's fine to use on a regular basis.

I have to agree that it was quite traumatic for me to wake up in the middle of the night coughing and choking on vomit. I am sick to death of worrying about either being too tight or too loose or whether or not the band wrapped around my stomach is damaging my stomach while I think and wonder if everything is fine.

Dr. Aceves in Mexico is $12,500 for a revision surgery from band to sleeve. He is an excellent doctor and the hospital he works out of is like a 5 star hotel. He is very experienced with band to sleeve revisions and I would not go to anyone else. I didn't feel that way when I got banded, but Dr. Aceves really has a lot of experience and is an excellent surgeon.

1 month post op and loving it!!!!
Oregondaisy replied to neworleanslady's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can't wait to get my revision surgery. I thought you weren't supposed to get hungry with the sleeve though. You said you were hungry at first. -
My doctor charges 160.00 for fills. Whether or not your insurance company covers fills is strictly up to your policy. some insurance companies do, and some don't. You need to research that.
-
I am not an angry sleeve patient. I still have my band but I am playing it safe and having it removed while I can because I know many, many, people who were happy with their bands until they failed them by eroding or slipping.
-
Stories like this are exactly why I am getting a revision from band to sleeve. I want that band out before I have problems. I don't want to take any chances that I will not be able to have a different WLS if my band fails. I keep hearing more and more stories like this.

Anyone notice Post Banders are a bit snobbish?

When you get a revision from band to sleeve, does that make you a renewbie? -
getting stuck before a fill
Oregondaisy replied to rabbit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is a chance that the band they put on you was small for your stomach size. This should be okay because as you lose weight you will lose the fat pad around your stomach and the band will loosen. Do tell you dr. about this and don't get a fill until all this changes. Like I said before, stick with something warm first, like warm tea, soup, before trying to eat. -
You know, I finally got sick and tired of all this filling and unfilling and worrying about restriction and damaging my esophagus. That's why I am scheduled for a revision surgery to a sleeve. It's going to be nice never to worry about restriction or fills ever again!
