  1. If you have a really tight fill , it's hard to eat bread. That takes several fills though. I have always been able to eat bread. I usually don't eat it, but it's hard to pass up when I am out to dinner and they pass out that bread basket.

    Calling all SLEEVED People

Hopefully, I will lose well during the post op diet. I hope I am not in too much pain at the port site. I haven't even told work about the band, let alone revision. Plus I get really moody if I can't exercise. I liked that someone said they lost their sweet tooth when they got the sleeve. That would be a dream come true!
  3. Oregondaisy

    Restriction?

It usually takes at least 3 fills to get good restriction. Doctors don't like to give to big of a fill all at once when you are first banded. It can cause problems,

    Kissing the Band Bye-Bye! Yes!!!

yes, I am interested in finding out whatever you found you liked or could at least tolerate. It's the clear stage I am worried about. I know when I am on full liquids, it won't be a problem because I love the Peanut butter/chocolate Whey Gourmet.

    Kissing the Band Bye-Bye! Yes!!!

Elizabeth and Susan, When you get around to the clear stage, can you let me know what you find and liked to be the best? I am wondering if I should just order some Unjury unflavored.

    Restriction?

Slow down, eat slowly and chew your food until it's liquid in your mouth. You won't know if you need another fill until you learn to eat like a bandster.
  7. lpglarry, read the complications section of the band on this board. You should become aware of the possible complications with the band before you make a decision.

Describe your post op recovery please?

I can't wait to hear the answers!
  9. I doubt if you could hurt your band from coughing but you could always call your doctor and ask that. It's common not to have restriction to continue until you're near goal. Have you read the thread in the fills section? I think it's called how the band works, fills and refills. It's by Wendall Edwards. It should be easy to find. It's a sticky in the fill section of this board.
  10. Actually, I think Alex is working on that. You could send him a pm though.

    Alternate Surgery After Band Removal?

If your doctor is going to do the sleeve for free, go for it! Everyone I know that has it, just loves it. You'll have permanent restriction and never have to worry about slips, erosion, fills or unfills. There is a forum for life after band removal. You should be able to read in there how successful people have been keeping the weight off after having it removed.

    2wk liquid diet post-op???

Do you have a big family where you are cooking big meals? That would make it hard. If it's just the two of you, try to eat around him as little as possible. If you made Soup, he can put it in a blender and blend the heck out of it so there are no chunks. Then he could eat what you're having. He can have sf Jello and sf popsicles so maybe you two can eat those together in the evening at snack time.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

I have a silky terrier. Looks like a yorkie but a little bit bigger. They don't shed. My bf just got a dog and I see problems coming. He seems to think dogs should be able to get on the bed and if that dog is on my bed, there is going to be trouble. I don't want dog hair on my bed. That's why I bought a dog that does not shed.

Why do women have anal sex?

Honestly, I never thought this thread would start so many interesting conversations when I started it.

Phyl, I should know this being a moderator and all. I went to user CP to make sure my subscriptions to emails were turned on. I couldn't find anywhere to check that. Where is it at? Alex emailed me to my email address that is listed here, and even he can't figure out why I am not getting email notifications.

I don't iron either. I look at something before I buy it and decide if it's something that looks like it will need to be ironed. I have occasionally ironed a dress shirt for the bf or DS but that is rare. Froggi, you are doing fine. I didn't lose much at all until I had 3 fills and I exercised my brains out.

Does anyone regret getting their LB?

Anyone who has questions regarding possible complications with the band should go to the complications section of this board. There are many, many threads about complications that people have had while having a band. People should review this section while doing their research and know what is possible. While it may be that some people will not have a particular complication, it's part of researching a band and knowing if you are willing to take those risks.

Does anyone regret getting their LB?

I never had any problems in the day time. I could eat anything I wanted. Yet at night I had that problem. I didn't eat past 5 pm. So, yes, they did remove part of my fill. I hadn't had a fill for over a year and up until then, everything was fine. Why my fill was perfect for over a year, and then all of a sudden, it wasn't, is a mystery to me. All I know is, having a tiny fill removed made it so I have no restriction, and now I can't get another fill or the same thing will happen again. So, what good is this band for me? People need to know that having band problems CAN happen out of the blue, through no fault of their own.
  23. Hey, I never thought of that! LOL. I have a hard enough time in the chat room when they are all excited about getting their date. At least Alex is still banded. I am always honest though, and tell them I loved my band at first too, until I started choking on vomit in my sleep. Susan, which Soups can you buy in the store? I would suppose you have to add unflavored Protein to it?

Why do women have anal sex?

I can't believe the " I like it . It feels good is winning the poll. I could never in a million years feel that charitable . I could never relax. I would be too afraid of being ripped apart.

God, where is PG when I need her. I wish and pray that I didn't like sweets. Sweets are my biggest downfall. Somebody told me a craving for sweets is a vit D deficiency. I should get tested.
