I can't believe Tara pulled that car so far. That totally amazed me!

I don't have a Best Buy here. I live in the middle of nowhere. I have a Walmart and that's about it. Sorry to hijack Serious's thread!

I can't remember. I think maybe around September or whenever this season started.

I hate it when people post just to post.....
Oregondaisy replied to TerriDoodle's topic in The Lounge
Remember awhile back I was complaining about working with a girl on drugs? Now she is in jail. She came up with a dirty UA. My boss, the attorney says she will stick by her. She feels like Christey needs her. I just don't get it. You would think an attorney would not want someone with a felony on their record as an employee. -
I ordered a lap top from Dell. Unfortunately, it won't get here before my surgery date. I wanted to take it to Mexico. Did you feel well enough to email from the hospital? I am thinking it's not going to be a big deal because I don't remember any of you posting right after surgery. I wonder if my cell phone will work from Mexicalli. The only person I want to stay in constant contact with is my daughter.

The thing about Match.com though is that you can pick your own people. E Harmony matches you with who they think you should be with. At match, you can make a profile and keep it hidden, but you can still look at other people's profiles. I did that for a long time until I got enough confidence when I had lost most my weight to unhide my profile . A couple of weeks later, my bf contacted me. You can choose to put a picture up, or tell them in an email that you will send them a picture. I choose to not have a picture up, because this town is too small. I found it really strange to run into people whose pictures I had seen on match. Sometimes I went in as a man looking for a woman, to see women's profiles. Then I would go somewhere and see a lady and remember her profile. There is this walk I do all the time around a lake. I always ran into a guy (who I would not be interested in) who walked with his dog. He sent me a message and wanted a picture. I wrote back and told him he sees me every day while he walks his dog. I let him wonder which person it was, as that is a very popular trail.

Band Out, Sleeve In! It's done.
Oregondaisy replied to Elisabethsew's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That is more expensive than what my dr.'s office charges. I didn't check to see what they charge for shipping either. They do make a tomato Soup with 15 grams of Protein and a cream of chicken soup with the same amount of protein too. They are all good. -
I feel the same way. My daughter will know. She is an RN and has been quite worried about me going to Mexico. I forwarded the information WasA sent me about Dr. Aceves and told her that Elizabeth is a nurse as well, and was very satisfied with Dr. Aceves, his staff and the hospital. I didn't want people to know when I got the band because I didn't want people constantly asking me how much I had lost or watching me eat. I still feel the same way about the sleeve. My other friend who is an RN also, will be going to Dr. Aceves soon, to get the sleeve done, and she is the only friend that knows. I talked her out of getting the band.

Band Out, Sleeve In! It's done.

I could buy some from my doctor's office and mail it to you! It was $10 a box, but I think all their stuff has gone up to $12. There are 7 packages in the box. They have 15 grams of Protein. Let me know if you would like me to do that. I would be happy to send you some. -
I think Ron is just going to go back to his old eating habits as soon as he goes home. I can't see him sticking with exercise. It was sad to see some of the past contestants on Oprah who have gained a lot of it back.

It's everywhere! That stuff gives me the worse gas, and I don't need any help in that department. I have gas all the time, no matter what I eat. I just looked at the SF puddings, and it said splenda on the outside of the package, but sure enough if you read the label, it said 9 grams ( or whatever it comes in) of sugar alchohol. It's in most the Protein bars and I like Protein Bars. Does anyone have any suggestions of good things that don't have the sugar alcohol in them. When Malitol is the first ingredient, I know for sure if I ate it, I would have to be home alone for the next several hours.

I can't blame it on anyone else. My daughter gets so mad at me. I have gas all the time and I try not to eat gassy foods plus I take Beano. She acts like I do it on purpose. If I purposely ate something with sugar alcohol in it, I might as well say I did do it on purpose. It's not stop for hours after I eat it. I'd like to find a good Protein bar without it. Atkins used to have them, but now it's in their bars too.

You're doing great Susan! I am really happy that you were able to get this surgery. -

My friend who got the sleeve plateaued all the time, and then all of sudden she will drop 10 lbs and plateau again for 2-3 weeks. She made her goal in 6 months though.

I get mine from my dr.'s office. The brand is Proti. It's delicious. I am not sure if you can get it online. -
Band Out, Sleeve In! It's done.
Oregondaisy replied to Elisabethsew's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks Elizabeth. It's comforting to hear you feel well enough to go back to work. I have a desk job and I know being a nurse is more strenuous work. I only work part time, so it feels good to know I may not need 2 full weeks off work. Nobody at work knows about the band, and won't know why I am off work this time either. I love reading your updates! -
Yes, I have stevia that I put on my Cereal in in my herbal tea. I hope they start putting it in more things. That sugar alcohol is worthless! I can't be in the same room with anyone if it sneaks into my diet. I have to read labels of everything to make sure there is none in what I am going to eat. I wish they would just get rid of it.

I have a magnet on my fridge that says "Make yourself at home. Feel free to clean" I hate house work. The gal that comes and cleans for me makes very good money. I am probably the only person she cleans for that is not rich. She cleans for a lot of retired people, and one lady left her a Cadilac (sp?) in her will. All the people give her fabulous Christmas presents as well.

*Susan* revision from band to sleeve
Oregondaisy replied to *susan*'s topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
That's pretty scary Susan. I have bladder problems and it's really important that I drink a lot of water. Do you just feel extremely full when you try to sip on water? Did you ever find a place to get the clear protein? I know Mac mentioned some broth with protein that she ordered online. -
Serious, I can't find anywhere that it says when you got your 2nd surgery. You and I were banded close to the same time. How long has it been for you since you had the vsg surgery? I am looking forward to having my band taken out, but going through this again is worrying me, especially since not that many people even know I had band surgery, let alone another one coming up. Did you have the same dr. do your sleeve as your band surgery?
-
I was doing between 20-30 during my weight loss stage. Some days it was way below that. It really depended on whether or not I went out to eat that day.

Oregondaisy replied to Elisabethsew's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
People have been saying you can eat around the sleeve just like you can eat around the band. How is that possible? By eating more frequently or eating more mushy food? -
It makes me happy to read posts like that. It makes me even more certain that I have made the right decision. Now I am just afraid that something is going to happen to prevent me from going down there to have my surgery. My dad fell down and can hardly walk.
-
yes, that's a perfect way to say it. I don't want to be able to do an all you can eat buffet like I did yesterday with a band. Too much stomach is what caused my problems in the first place.
