DH stands for dear husband. DD dear daughter, etc. I hope everyone who is on any kind of birth control with hormones knows that birth control pills, etc, make your body think it's pregnant. Birth control can really play a part in how much you want sex.

Have you ever thought about bringing toys into the bedroom? There are a lot women who swear by them and say they make a big difference in their sex life.

Band Out, Sleeve In! It's done.
Oregondaisy replied to Elisabethsew's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'll see you there! I am having surgery Wednesday so we should over lap and be able to see each other. Elizabeth, it's nice to read you're enjoying your sleeve. I talked to my friend on the phone yesterday that got her's in Sept. and she really loves it too. She is down 65 lbs. She knows she could have lost more but she likes to eat french fries. -
That is one of the reasons I am getting a revision surgery from band to sleeve. Once I started having band complications, it really got expensive. My insurance pays nothing band related. Once you get a sleeve, you are done. There are no problems with restriction, no fills, no unfills. You have restriction immediately after surgery and you keep it the rest of your life. The part of the stomach that you have is not stretchy so it doesn't stretch out like it does with gastric bypass. I am very excited to get this over with and going back to eating small portions of anything I want!

*Susan* revision from band to sleeve
Oregondaisy replied to *susan*'s topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
yes, my surgery is the 29th. I leave Mon. for San Diego and will have tests tues. and surgery Wed. Does that milk intolerance include protein drinks made with water? I am not sure what they put in those mixes/powder. My friend really likes Renee and has my old surgery date of 5-6. They have talked on the phone nearly every day this past week. -
Hello Band Goodbye Femininty

I never had the gas pains after surgery either. Gas now is another story. I have no clue why I have such horrible gas and it doesn't seem to matter what I eat. I can only hope that with the new revision to sleeve surgery that I am getting, this will change things. I have never heard of people with the sleeve complaining of gas. -
Thanks Mac, you're a wealth of information! I hated Heba with a passion and so did everyone else. That's why everyone voted for Ed even though he begged everybody not to.

I hope I lose my taste for sweets. That would be a dream come true. -
Bread gives most bansters problems. It gets stuck and is very uncomfortable. You should be able to eat it if you want it that bad, until you get a fill. If you keep your band loose, you should still be able to eat it, but a loose band is not usually the road to weight loss. A loose band gives very little restriction which seems to be what people are always looking for.

Hello Band Goodbye Femininty
Oregondaisy replied to Maranda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Passing gas is also very common. I have gotten used to the burping and can now feel it coming and do it with my mouth closed so it's not as loud. The gas passing with no warning is the most embarrassing! I have started taking beano with most meals. -
Air Pockets/Bubbles
Oregondaisy replied to vayiayia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should not be so anxious to advance your diet. Has anyone explained why you need to be on liquids post op? You band needs to heal around your stomach. You need to form adhesions around your band so it will not slip in the future. This can not happen if your stomach is moving which it does when it digests food. Go and look in the complications section of this board and decide if you want to have complications. If you follow your doctors orders to the letter, and still have complications, at least you will know it was nothing you did that caused them. Yes, it's common to feel like you need to burp and can't. Try to sip your liquids slowly so that you are not swallowing air. This gets better with time. You are very new and are still in the healing process. -
Why NOT to choose Gastric Sleeve

Mac, what does EWL stand for? I keep seeing it and can only assume that the WL stands for weight loss, but for the life of me can't guess the E part. Isn't it nice that we live in this day and age where we have choices of which surgery we want? There are advantages and disadvantages to any WLS. Although for the life of me, I don't see any disadvantage of the sleeve other than I will still be able to eat ice cream, lol. -
You'll probably be dating guys that aren't muscle men and don't have perfect bodies either. It's not like I go running around naked in front of my bf, but I have no trouble under the sheets. By the time you find someone you care enough to have sex with, your looks won't be as important to you ( hopefully)

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
Oregondaisy replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Flowers that is such a cute picture! As far as plastic surgery goes, I think I am lucky that I started weight training way before I got the band. I think the muscles I have built up these past 5 years have made a huge difference so I don't have much saggy skin. My arms are another story. Even though I have built up muscle on my triceps, I still have the bat wing look. There will be no short sleeves for me, and luckily I live somewhere that doesn't even get hot out in the summer. -

Why do women have anal sex?
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
No apologies necessary. I started this thread because I could not even imagine ANYONE liking it. I have had my share of partners over the last 40 years and nobody has ever even suggested it to me. I am glad to be enlightened on the subject that it's pleasurable for some women, but I still have no desire to try it either. -
I wonder why Kristin gained a lb. It would be so nice to know how the body works. I doubt that she ate anything fattening and she supposedly worked her butt off. It just doesn't make sense that she would gain. I could see a plateau, but a gain?

Why do women have anal sex?
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
No, I seriously doubt that I will try it since my bf does not want to. I don't plan to be with anyone else. We have a great sex life just the way it is. Things become more difficult as we get into our 50's and I am happy we can have sex at all, since my last bf needed viagra and could not afford it. -
My daughter could not get pregnant when she weighed 320 lbs. at age 25. She did not have the sleeve, or the band. She choose gastric bypass, which I was against because of the malabsorption issue. She got pregnant at about a year post op. She had a very healthy pregnancy and has a very healthy baby boy, who is the love of my life. She has never lost the 40 lbs she gained during her pregnancy, but then again she hasn't really tried to either.

I believe they said it was skim milk which is 80 calories. I like skim milk but there is no way I drink 3 glasses per day. I'd rather take calcium!

You're lucky! I am glad I don't like to cook or bake or entertain. I hate making messes. That's probably why I like to go out to eat. -

Luckily I only drink water and don't drink coffee or tea. I was putting splenda on my high fiber cereal until I discovered it was what was causing my gas problems. -
*Susan* revision from band to sleeve

Wow Susan, you've really been through a lot lately. I hope you're on the mend soon. Maybe the medication Elizabeth suggested can help you until you are ready for another surgery. -
