I am not voting because I don't really care which of those 2 go against Tara. She deserves to win just for never falling below the yellow line. I would kill to have Jillians arms too. I should break down and buy one of her DVDs

Band Out, Sleeve In! It's done.

I really want to follow the rules. I know and trust that Dr. A has done enough sleeves to do a perfect job on me. I don't want to take any chances of messing anything up by advancing early. I can live through this. I am not getting carbs, so really it makes no sense to me why I feel this knawing hunger. Usually when you are carb free, the hunger goes away. I only put the protein powder in apple juice once and that was 50% less sugar apple juice. The rest of the time it's been Hawiian sf punch, and crystal light. I used the K20 protien water once too but I don't think that has many carbs. I am at my dd house at the moment or I would go and ck the box.

We have a poster of Jill at our gym. On it she says that for the show, she keeps her weight at 115. She said she likes to keep in at 120 when the show is not on because she feels better. I never knew she was gay!

    Question for You Sleevers

I know, but Susan and Elizabeth said they felt like they had to force liquids. I feel like I have to force myself to wait. I have to leave my Water in the kitchen instead of next to me or I would drink a 20 oz bottle in nothing flat. I was only on clears for 24 hours with the band surgery. Then full for 4 weeks. That was easier.

Band Out, Sleeve In! It's done.

I always got the hiccups with the band when I was done. I can't wait to feel full again. If I didn't trust Dr. A so much, I would really think my sleeve was done wrong.

    Question for You Sleevers

It's just downright weird. WasA keeps telling me not to question why things are going so well, but I would really like to feel full and not watch the clock so I can have something else.

Is it unflavored? Does it taste funny? I have a friend who is getting the sleeve next week and she is a really picky eater. She is really worried about how she is going to get the protein in if unflavored protein powder smells or tastes funny. I don't have a sense of smell so I think that might be why it just tastes like whatever I put it in.

    Question for You Sleevers

I am starving. My stomach feels like it's gnawing inside. I really don't get why I can drink as much as I want, as fast as I can. WasA said it could be because my esophagus was/is dilated. I really have to force myself to slow down and not just drink my entire clear liquid Protein down all at once. Same with Water. I would really like to just suck down and entire 8oz glass of water. It's really difficult for me to sip and go slowly.

    Question for You Sleevers

When you are on the liquid stage, do you need to wait after your have your Protein clear liquid before you should drink Water? Maybe this is why I am so hungry.

    Sleeve scars

I was in the hospital 3 nights. They took the drain out the night before I left. It was not a big deal at all to take it out. The scars pretty much look like band scars. Three of them are not nearly as long. I already answered your question in another thread about weight loss.

    Sleeve results

Yes, weight loss is faster with the sleeve. With the band, it might take 3 fills before you even feel like you have a band. Most doctors do fills 6 weeks apart. The nurse I spoke to when I had my surgery said he lost 100 lbs in 6 months. The difference with the foods you can eat is with a sleeve, you can eat most anything. With a band, once you have restriction, there are many many foods that people have to give up or they throw up. They won't go through the band and it's painful when things get stuck until you throw it up.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Uh-Oh, I forgot there are many banded people on this thread. If fact, I think there are only 2 of us who would be sleeve surgery. OK, I'll spill. The band worked great for me for about 2 years . Then I started throwing up in my sleep. I hadn't had a fill in over a year. I had to have most of my fill removed and then I was hungry all the time. Really, the best thing you can do if you want to know what is possible with the band is read the stories in the sleeve section of this board, or go to the complications section. I loved my band for a long time. Then it started causing major problems for me, and a lot of other people as well. If you are already banded, make sure you never stay tight. If you feel tight, get a slight unfill. Being too tight is what causes all the problems. Although I have no idea why I was not too tight for over a year, and then all of a sudden I was.

    appetite and the sleeve

The problem is that I can't stop once I start. The day I found out my dad broke his pelvis, one of our clients brought in a bag of dove Easter eggs. I ate the entire bag over an hour's period. I was "just going to have one" They were dark chocolate and I like milk chocolate better, but that sure did not stop me!

Crazy question about 20 years from now

WasA is right. I was afraid too. I had pretty much no recovery with lap band. I had it on a friday and went back to work on monday. I thought this revision surgery would be different, but it was just as easy. I am going back to work today, less than a week from my surgery date. I could have gone back to work sooner, but I thought I might as well stay home since I had major surgery. I am not in pain and have not been since the Wed. night. Wed. night my left shoulder hurt. My surgery was Wed.morning. I haven't felt nauseous, sick, painful, weak, or anything. I feel like I always do, other than I have major head hunger! I would say being on the liquid diet is the only thing slightly difficult about this surgery. Honestly, I think being terrified to tears is not necessary. I was a big worry wart myself, but this surgery was a breeze.

I bought GNC unflavored protein mix and I mix it in anything. I have mixed in apple juice, K Protein water, crystal light, etc

    appetite and the sleeve

I think all junk food should be banned from the office. It's different for instance, that my co-worker is a skinny tooth pick. She always eats lunch at her desk, and always has a bag of chips for instance. That does not bother me. What bothers me is when my boss, who loves to bake, brings in cakes, pies, Cookies, etc, and is constantly saying "have some. I made these to share with you" I put a sign up at Christmas time that said "Daisy has gained 7 lbs and she is not happy. Please do not offer any in between meal any snacks"

    I Need a Boost-Me-Up- Please Help

If you would like me to copy and paste or email all the incredible information on Dr. A credentials that WasA sent me, I would be happy to do it. He is better than a lot of American doctors . That is for sure! After reading all of this, my daughter who is an RN, felt a lot better about putting my life in his hands.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

She was going to call the dr. and call me back but it was late in the day and didn't call. I am going to call again in the morning. I'm glad you're going together. It would have been better if I had someone to talk to. WasA's friend came to see me and that was nice. Most people there were getting bands removed and not getting the sleeve. There were a couple getting bands that I didn't really want to talk to because I don't have anything good to say about the band.

    Who Here Is On Twitter?

Thanks! I am sure that will be very helpful. I looked at it when Oprah and Ellen Degeneras started twittering only because they both mentioned winning money by going on twitter. I don't know who I would want to follow, but then again, I never know what goes on in the future. I never thought I would have a facebook page either.

Crazy question about 20 years from now

I haven't heard of anyone feeling that nauseous. We have had quite a few people getting sleeves lately.

Crazy question about 20 years from now

I only had nausea the day of surgery. That evening when I got up to use the rest room, I felt nauseous. They have me something in my IV and I have never felt any nausea since then. I hope it's still not on it's way!
  22. Thanks Susan. I remember when you thought it was infected. Mine is yellow, not green, but like you said, I don't think it's an infection.
