They are complaining that Mac sticks up for you. -
There are a lot of people who have a bmi way over 41 and have lost all the excess weight. The sleeve is going to take over the by pass in years to come in my opinion. So many people with bypass gain their weight back. There is no reason to have a procedure that causes malabsorption when the sleeve has just as good weight loss. You will do great with a sleeve. You have come to the right place! We all love our sleeve and you will too! Welcome to sleeve talk!

pian what hurts and how much
Oregondaisy replied to ALISIA's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it's nothing compared to a C section. -
I read over there, because there are people that have had their sleeves a lot longer than anyone here. I hate their set up too.
-
You have definitely made the right decision. I had my band out and I love my sleeve!

I hope Alex fixed it because they were talking about it at OH again. I don't like it that they think this site is linked to a porn site. -
this is how I make it. Boil how ever many eggs as you want. chop them up and add either mayo or miracle whip to get it was wet at you want. Add a tiny bit of mustard and as much pickle relish as you like. I ate it a lot on mushies. I could eat about 2 tablespoons 3 times a day.

yes, as long as you know that you'll only be able to eat these itty bitty portions. You can definitely eat around the sleeve, just like you can with a band. There are people who are grazers, and just eat a little bit, but do it all day long , or all evening long. The surgery pain is the easiest part of all of this. Once I ate fish, and I thought I had only eaten a little bit. I didn't feel full at the table. Once I stood up, I knew I was in trouble. I was so full, I was in horrible pain for 2 hours. I thought my stomach was going to explode. I really did not eat all that much, either.

On OH, they tried to eat as much cottage cheese as they possibly could, to see how much they could eat, or how much their stomach has stretched. I can't remember how much they decided was the most , but WasA had to use egg salad because she hates cottage cheese.

Lap Band vs Sleeve
Oregondaisy replied to attitudefree's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope Bob is completely ready to eat itty bitty portions for the rest of his life. I know it does stretch over time, but WasA tells me she can only eat a quarter of a sandwich and she is a year out. -
I left the window open in the chat room.

that's what I meant. Since it's near the hospital, they probably do see it a lot. I even wondered if I should get dressed. I really had no reason to be in PJ's and a robe in the middle of the day. I just hadn't brought many clothes with me.

I am not a fan of salt either. So many things taste salty to me, like cheese. My daughter is always telling me I am nuts.

The staples do stay in your permanently. They are permanently removing part of your stomach, so that side has to be stapled off. I can't answer the gall stones question. Most doctors want their patients on an acid reducer for 3 months after surgery. I can't answer you going back to work question either. I went back in less than a week. I have a desk job. I could have gone back the day after I was released from the hospital. I wasn't in pain, and really could not tell I had surgery. There are people who say they don't feel very good for a couple of weeks after surgery.

Lap Band vs Sleeve
Oregondaisy replied to attitudefree's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too. I really feel like I never had surgery unless I try to eat steak. -
Something I read on that other board

That would be great Ruthi. I would like to read it again, and things are so hard to find on OH. -
Thank you Alex. That would be great.

Adding cottage cheese won't add many carbs either.

How about me walking around the neighborhood in my bathrobe looking to pick up a cell phone signal. They must be used to crazy Americans in their bathrobes because nobody even gave me weird look.

Maybe I will go back there and copy/paste the article. I know it makes no sense to me how the two could be related. -
Do the chat rooms have to be linked together as well? Can't we have it so if they want to come into the sleeve chat room, they have to log out of the lap band talk and log into our chat room?

Non Scale Victory (NSV)
Oregondaisy replied to Elisabethsew's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That's what I have always been told too, Mac. However, way to go Elisabeth.I am glad all your hard work is showing!:lol0: -
I don't like that at the top of the chat screen, you can jump between rooms that are the sleeve room or the band room. We've had bansters coming in doing that "our surgery is better" routine. My opinion is that if you're researching and trying to decide which surgery to get that's one thing. But if you love your band , don't come into the sleeve chat room to say we're nuts to have part of our stomach removed. I think it should be the way it was before. The band people would have to sign out of LBT and log on here to get in our chat room, and not be able to go between the two.

I don't like the Premier Protein drinks at all. I do like their bars though. they have a lot of calories and carbs though. What is a twisted bar?
