    Vitamin D

I sent them an email from their contact us link on the web site. Didn't you say that you can get your results online? I put my order # in my email. Was there something else I was supposed to do to get my results? I wasn't sure if I was supposed to wait for them to contact me or what I was supposed to do. thanks!

    Longterm Success??

There are other people who have had their sleeve longer at that other board. Obesity Help has a lot of people who have had the sleeve surgery. That board is very unorganized and it's hard to keep track of posts. But I am sure you will find people who have had their sleeve longer than at at this board . this board was just started in May.
  3. I only gained back 15 lbs when I started having band problems. As far as I was concerned, that was 15 too many. I couldn't wait to get to Dr. Aceves and get that band out. Dr. Aceves has never had any complications. He is an excellent surgeon and is extremely experienced with band to sleeve surgeries.

    My future babies

My DD got pregnant the first month she tried. She was about 1 1/2 years post op from gastric bypass. My grandson was very healthy and weighed a little over 7 lbs. She has not lost the weight she gained being pregnant though. Speaking of older moms, my boss had twins at the age of 50. She was almost 51. They were born on New Years Eve and she was 51 on March 1st.

I did it, i did it, i did it

I hate to say it, but since I lost weight, I gained wrinkles. The fat fills out the wrinkles. It's a bad trade off.

    i am struggling here

It makes me wonder how I can be so different. I know we went to the same surgeon, but I can eat quite a bit of mushy food. I can eat more than I think I would be able to, actually.

    Starting to get nervous....

I really like the choc. Peanut Butter that you get online from netrition.com. It's very smooth and creamy. The only thing I don't like about flying is that it's very boring.
  8. I had my band removed and could not be happier. It's not like you feel different. You just can't eat as much. There is no food getting stuck, one day you can eat a certain food and the next day you can't. Life is very normal with the sleeve. Mac's aunt had this same surgery a long time ago for stomach cancer and has lived very well with it. I am not sure what complications you're thinking could come up.

I agree. You don't look your age at all!

    Changed My Mind!

yeah, it would have been really nice to read about the sleeve first and save myself that 10 grand I paid for the band. It's no fun to self pay twice, but I have to say, having the band out and getting the sleeve was so worth it!

    marley and me

I just rented that movie. The stupid DVD keeps getting stuck in the same spot. I guess it's not going to play the end for me. It stops right where the dog gets sick. If you don't want to ruin the ending for someone else, please pm me with how this movie ends.

    Got my date!

Oh now I am curious. Did you like it? I mix it in with water and some yogurt and that way I can make any flavor I want.

    I have a date!

July 15th is right around the corner!

    marley and me

Eventually it will come on tv or HBO and I will see the ending then.
  15. I was 5'2" in H.S. and 110 lbs. I have no desire to get down to 110 now. If I was younger, that would be a different story. The more I lose, the worse my face looks. My boobs look like tube socks. If I could control where the weight comes off, that would be a different story. My neck already looks like a turkey. My legs thighs and butt look fine from weight training. My tummy doesn't look bad from stretched out skin, but I don't want to press my luck with that one either. I just want to get into the normal bmi and I will be good with that. I don't think I'll have any trouble losing too much weight, the way candy is always calling my name.
  16. I just ate a small brownie. I know my bad. I was invited for dinner, what can I say. A couple hours after we ate, dessert was offered. All I know is I feel so stuffed now, there is no way I could eat another one. In the past, I could have eaten the whole pan.

    I hope someone reads this

WASa wrote some very powerful words. I am sure that it will help a lot of people who feel like they need to read something that showed them how they got where we all are today-needing weight loss surgery. That book I mentioned also is very helpful and gives specific exercises on how to change your thinking and stay motivated. It's called the Beck Solution-Train your brain to think like a thin person, by Janet Beck.

anyone have VSG with Dr. Pleatman

I can only wonder why you are not so busy that you don't have the time to cruise the message boards. I am sure you are a very nice doctor and have been kind enough on other boards to answer people's questions. However, it would seem that a busy doctor in high demand would have a busy life and not have time to look at message boards.
  19. yeah, most people put the heating pad on their left shoulder. That is where the gas pain ends up. I'm not sure what the heat does to move it out of the shoulder over to where it needs to go so it can come out. All I know is having the heat on my left shoulder was very soothing.

I don't think I can take it back because I got it out of one of those machines. There are Red Boxes and this one was a Blue Box.

    Rate your liquids

I've never looked at the K20 Protein waters. I didn't think they were high in carbs though.
  22. I am another person who had my band removed and my sleeve done at the same time. I am really glad I did. Living with the sleeve is like living a normal life, compared to the band.

Sorry, but I am going with he is very good.

    I hope someone reads this

this is a fairly new board that just opened in May . We don't have many people who have lived with the sleeve for very long. Most of us just got our sleeves within the last few months. What helped me with the band was to write every reason I wanted to lose weight on a 3x5 index card. One thought per card. Like "I want to wear cute clothes" Keep sets of these cards everywhere, like in your purse, in your car, one of the fridge etc. You might also try the book The Beck Diet Solution. It's not a diet. It's a way to learn to cope with bad eating habits and binge eating. You can get it at Amazon.

    At the Hotel Lucerna...and confused.

For the first year, you should not feel hunger. You will eat very small meals and be satisfied. You will also stay full for a long time, so snacking isn't constantly on your mind. the sleeve makes everything easier.
