You can eat meat with the sleeve and not throw it up. It does not get stuck, but you fill up on it really fast. You do throw it up if you eat too much of it, because your stomach is TINY. It's hard to learn how little to eat. I am full awhile after I am done eating. We are used to eating until we are full, but you can't with the sleeve. You feel more full 10 minutes after you're done eating, and then you are in trouble.

Prescriptions, Guest food, etc

I have the email that was sent to me if anyone needs it. It covers everything, like be sure to bring flip flops if your slippers are difficult to put on.Shampoo, etc. -
Yeah, I have it set that way. That's why I don't understand why this person was able to see anything. I don't even have it set to where people can search for me, or add me.

I just found out why my bf has been acting so distant the past few days. It turns out his DIL is upset with me over something I said on Face book. I wasn't even talking about her. Facebook is stupid too. Something you say can be taken the wrong way by all these people that you don't even know. I am more than disgusted at this moment.

? for Dr. Aceves' patients
Oregondaisy replied to Aryssia's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My last meal was Burger King at the mall. I've heard from everyone that the food in the cafeteria is really good and very reasonable. the Lucerna is beautiful. There are several places to choose from there to have a meal. -

I never even liked friend chicken. I haven't eaten the skin from a piece of chicken in years. Even if Mountain Dew was a clear, it's still carbonated. Geepers, some people you have to wonder why they are even considering wls. -

Are you going to Dr. Aceves? they have a great email that they send out with all that information. Somebody should have a copy of it that they could post here, or you could ask Nina to email it to you. It covers everything! I take Protonics and did not buy the Nexium in MX. Protonics is just as good and my ins. covers it. I believe the email says not to bring more than $20 for meals. -
Should sipping be getting easier?
Oregondaisy replied to TennJenn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It true that food does not get stuck like it does with the band. However, once you move to solids, you will have to be extremely careful. You will vomit food back up. If you eat too much, you'll be really happy it comes back up. It's painful to be too full. It's easy to eat too much until you learn how much to eat. It's that deal that the brain waits to tell the stomach it's full. I don't feel full, but 10, 15 min later, I am in pain. I have learned to stop before I am full. -
I NEVER say anything about this surgery on fb. I have one friend on there that had it too, and my DD knows, but they are the only people on FB that know I had it. I can't believe that saying I am feeling sad today is something somebody can take so personally. Hell some days I just wake up sad for no reason. I guess I'll just go back to talking about the weather. Can someone please explain to me if I have my settings set so only "friends" see my comments, how friends of friends see them? Do those settings not work?

That is a really good point. That whole idea really scared me when I started throwing up in my sleep. I got to wondering what was going on inside that I could not see. I got to thinking about putting a rubber band around my finger and leaving it there for 3 years and how my finger would look after that. The reason doctors are still pushing the band is that it's an easy money maker. besides the surgery being easy, a lot of them get money every time someone needs a fill or an unfill. There are not a lot of places that gives you fills free forever. Fills can also be very expensive, and so are the tests to find out why you are having problems.

I agree Angel. You can always send someone a private message on there and ask what they meant ask about their comment.

You should get the book then. It has a lot of great ideas. I got it at Amazon for $9. It's worth the money. I like their ideas on how to think like thin people think. It's behavior modification and that's what we need.

I want chocolate to go away forever!
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am going to do the 5 day test starting tomorrow, so I am getting that evil chocolate out of my system. Only one problem. Chocolate is my favorite protein drink. -
nothing to be scared of. Dr. Aceves is an extremely good surgeon and he has done many of our surgeries. You will be in perfect hands if you choose him to be your surgeon. If you choose a different surgeon, you're still picking the very best weight loss surgery available!

Question about protein foaming in the blender
Oregondaisy replied to WhiteRice's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
There is a protein shake that you can order from Netrition.com - The Internet's Premier Nutrition Superstore! that is whey gourmet peanut butter and chocolate. It's the smoothest creamiest of any protein shake I have ever tried. I have tried many. It does not foam up. It's very creamy, and I have heard some say they don't even use a bullet, just a water bottle and shake it. It's my favorite. -
10 days post surgery - how much should the intake be?
Oregondaisy replied to Chin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ate spaghetti sauce on mushies. Just the ground meat, and the sauce. yummy. Also ground meat with taco sauce and sour cream. yummy again. -
I have nothing good to say about the band. It was very difficult for me to lose weight with the band. I felt like I was doing it with sheer willpower, and why did I pay 10 grand for that? Eventually, I got the restriction I was looking for , and started throwing up practically everything I ate. Then came the waking up from a sound sleep , choking and puking in my sleep. I could not get that band out of me fast enough. The sleeve is great. I love never being hungry. With the band, I was not supposed to be hungry , but when you throw up what you eat, you're hungry again right away. You're supposed to drink liquids after you throw something up, because the vomiting causes swelling around the band. So, back on liquids AGAIN. Hunger, AGAIN. The sleeve works the way the band is supposed to work, but it really does work, no fills, just surgery and you're done.

Saying "hi"-introducing myself...
Oregondaisy replied to Chancie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am really having a tough time with solids. I get the foamies or slime or whatever you want to call it on a regular basis. It's very difficult for me to want to eat solids. tonight I went out to dinner with DD. I had one little tiny piece of chicken. I didn't even eat all of it. It was about 2" square and I probably had 3 tiny bites of it and about 3 green Beans. I guess I didn't chew the grean beans well enough because the sliming went on and on until I finally threw up. I don't think my portion was too big this time. -
My bf tends to stew over things for a few days before he is ready to talk about it. It's better actually that he does this, rather than blow up about it until he has time to put into words what he wants to say. As for his DIL, I have concluded she is nuts. She could have easily contacted me and asked what I was talking about rather than drag him into it. He doesn't even have a computer and it's ridiculous that she complained to her father in law about something that really did not concern her. Now somebody please explain face book to me. I have my settings set so that only my friends are supposed to see what I post. Why then are friends of friends seeing my postings? I was in a bad mood that day, and normally I am very generic on face book and talk about the weather or something. However on that day, I believe face book says something like: what are you thinking, or something on that order. I put something about feeling sad that day. Why that dufus took that personally is beyond me. I am sad and will continue to be sad until my son and DIL move into their home so I can see my 4 week old grand daughter regularly instead of visitation being controled my my son's mil.

Should sipping be getting easier?
Oregondaisy replied to TennJenn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am one of those lucky people who have never had to sip. I had the opposite problem. I had to really try to sip and drink slowly. Now that i am over 2 1/2 months post op, I don't even worry about it anymore. I drink a lot of water pretty quickly when I take all the pills that I need to take. -
