Anyone want to meet in the chat room?
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Chat room will be open tonight! I got a message from someone looking to chat, so come on and in and talk to us! -
That is great news Norma! I am happy for you! Oct. will be here before you know it. I hope Judy is able to get her sleeve in Oct. so the two of you can possibly be there together.

I don't know. I know several people who appealed twice and finally got tired of waiting and went to Dr. Aceves in Mexico. He's a great dr. and it's the best money I have ever spent.

Decided to make the move...
Oregondaisy replied to wannabhealthy45's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The sleeve is way better than the band. You will be really happy to get that band out of you. I really worried that I would be too late and not be able to get revision surgery. The band can ruin your stomach to the point that you can't even get revision to a sleeve, so I got mine out before that happened. -
Oh Tiff, you have been through so much. I am so sorry to hear you had to go through more complications. I am really glad to hear from you. Sending healing thoughts and prayers your way.

Welcome. You have come to the right place. We are all very happy with the surgery.

Dr. Aceves is one the most experienced Drs. of anyone. He has more experience than most doctors in the U. S. The hospital is extremely clean. They are always cleaning. They came in and cleaned my room at least 3x per day. You should call the number to the side of the screen. Most of us have been sleeved by him and his wonderful staff. We all have had fantastic experiences there and I have not heard anyone complain about anything. Go to the forums and read our stories under something like "tell your story'

I looked online at the dating site and it tells if the person I was talking about has been online. yesterday it said has been online this week, and today it says has been online this week. That means he hasn't checked in on that dating site. That makes me feel a little better. I seriously doubt that he hasn't checked his email though.

Some are clueless

I am happy to report I successfully ate beef for lunch today. My friend is Korean and makes the best food. -
Can you chat tonight? I am really down about this, and it would be really good to be able to talk to you.

Time off After Sleeve Surgery
Oregondaisy replied to shanda7182's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would have been bored stiff with 4 weeks off but that's just me. It is a little difficult to get used to the post op diet, so if you think you can do that easier at home, go for it. there are some people that really have trouble with nausea, so the extra time off is nice for those folks. I have a friend that's a nurse and she took 3 weeks off, but decided to go back early and used her PTO for something else. -
What I Learned This Week
Oregondaisy replied to Finally!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish I lived close to Dr. Aceves. That would be really cool to be able to see him easily. Glad you figured it all out. -
You know the situation with Bill, Vegas. He's been treating me like shit lately. I thought it was a committed relationship, but tonight he told me he was going camping with his brother his weekend. We have hardly spent any time together the past few weeks. I sent you a message on fb for you to look at the picture. It's like a year old, when I was probably 25 lbs heavier. Could you take a look at it? Tell bearded to look at it too, and tell me what you think. I am ready to tell Bill I want to start seeing other people, because he doesn't seem to have time for me anymore. If the picture looks lousy, I am going to find someone to take some newer pictures of me and sign up for match or something.

on the lbt web site, there are a lot of recipes for all the food stages.

I was exercising for years before I got the sleeve. I had to wait 6 weeks after surgery but not because of surgery. My dad died, and I was stuck in Arizona and I didn't want to join a gym there. I do weight training about 4 days a week. I do a class 2 days a week, and weights on my own the other 2 days. I do cardio at least 5 days a week. I've lost like 8" on my thighs. It's from weight training, not from sleeve surgery. I've lost 7" on my waist. Also from exercise, not sleeve surgery. I lost these inches before having sleeve surgery. I go absolutely nuts if I don't exercise. I can't sleep, and I'm very moody.

Does Your Band Stop Your Hunger
Oregondaisy replied to IndioGirl55's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
No with the sleeve food does not get stuck. You can eat anything you want, just not very much of it. You do get full pretty fast. I am kind of a grazer though. I get full pretty fast, but then maybe a couple hours later, I might have a healthy snack. There are some days I just don't feel like messing with food or cooking or dishes and I will have 3 Protein shakes per day and be perfectly satisfied. I didn't start having band problems until after I had the band for a couple of years. I could just see more problems coming, so I revised to the sleeve before that started happening. I am really glad I did. -
The link did not work for me, but I already have the book.

Most people can handle the K20 Protein Water. It doesn't have much protein in it, but it's better than nothing. You can always water it down if it's too sweet. I was really lucky that nothing bothered me. I put unflavored Protein powder in anything I could find that was SF. Today I have had 3 different Protein shakes because nothing else sounded good.

? for Dr. Aceves' patients
Oregondaisy replied to Aryssia's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I was at the mall, it drove me nuts to see the prices. I saw a shirt that was like $400 but they told me in American $$ it was like $14. It was hard for me to figure out the prices. -
burping - 2 days post op
Oregondaisy replied to ash's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All of you have no idea how nice it would be to be able to sleep like a normal person. Insomnia is the pits! -
It's called the Beck Diet Solution, by Janet Beck. It's not a diet though. It's behavior modification. Right under the title, it says "how to think like a thin person"

To Tell ....or not to tell
Oregondaisy replied to attitudefree's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost my weight with the band. I didn't tell people I got the band. I lost weight very slowly with the band, so everyone knew I was dieting. I told people I was eating smaller portions and exercising. I really haven't lost much since I got the sleeve, because I was close to goal from the band. I was just tired of living with the band. I had the band over 2 years ago, so people are used to me by now, being at this weight.
