APPROVED, Revision from Lap Band, need help
Oregondaisy replied to heftynetty's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Did you get an answer from him as to how many sleeves he has done? Ask him if he has ever had a leak. If you have ins. approval, you can go to another surgeon, if his stats aren't good . What is the surgeon's name? Mac is pretty good with knowing who the good surgeons are. You can do research and find out what his complication rates are. In any case, get the sleeve. You won't be sorry. -
How Long Does it Last?
Oregondaisy replied to Malaika's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is a pomegranate flavor liquid vit. you can get at costco. Suzanne recommended it to me but I don't like it. That's not to say that you won't like it. As you know, everyone's tastes are different. I have been putting it in my strawberry EAS just to get rid of it. I personally would kill to be able to sleep like you do. I force myself to start getting ready for bed around 12-12:30 and usually lay there til around 3, and wake up at 5-5:30. I am about to lose my mind due to lack of sleep. -
Welcome to our happy family. Glad you choose Dr. Aceves. You are in the best hands. We will be here for you when you're doing that really fun post op diet!

Introduction and my story all in one!
Oregondaisy replied to funnigrl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Like I said, I keep the chat window open, and use another window. Then when I hear the little door bell, I know someone else has opened the chat window. My name is in the corner that I am there, but it may take me a minute to finish what I am typing and get back to the chat window. So sleevesters, open the chat window! -

Beth likes to chat so anyone that feels like chatting, come and join us in the chat room! I've been checking the room about 8 pm Pacific time, and I leave the window open and listen for the door bell that sounds letting me know someone has come in. If anyone wants to chat at an earlier time, I get off work at 4 pm and I live on my lap top after that. Just send me a pm or put up a post. The Lap Band room is always very crowded at all hours, and I would like to see our room get busy too. Chatting is lots of fun! -
Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in The Gals' Room
Carol, you are in Phoenix? I go to Mesa all the time. My dad has a house there and I will be coming in oct to get it ready. I am going to rent it to snowbirds as my dad passed away in June. Permanent eye make up sounds like the way to go! How expensive is it to do eye liner? Where do you live in Phoenix? -

Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in The Gals' Room
So what about removal of this eye makeup? I like the idea of not having to remove the bare minerals before going to sleep. I am beyond lazy. I have put eye liner on (like I said, I will put make up on for special occasions) and I wake up looking like a raccoon. This is going to be fun. It almost feels to me like little girls playing dress up! -

I don't need color or anything but a trim. They already cut too much off, but it looks boxy and I want my sides to be cut at an angle. I will bring a picture. I am really really lucky. I am almost 57 and no gray hair. My dad had none when he died at 90! -

Do you know how much she charges for a hair cut? Are you going to make me an appt. then? -

Ahhhh... we have no such store here. I will take a cooler with me when I go out of town. It's supposed to be over 100 in this town I am going to on Thurs. I'll look at costco first since I have other stuff I want to get there.

I am so glad you posted this Beth. I so much enjoy chatting with you and I have a feeling we will have a longtime chatting friendship from here on in. We are already off to a great friendship. I love finding another night owl like me. I am really glad you posted, and keep on posting! -
Calcium Citrate - which tastes best?
Oregondaisy replied to i1Linda's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I just spent $120.00 there on my last order. They also carry lean dessert Protein mix that people on OH rave about. I have tried the choc. coconut and now the fudge pudding, and I think they are okay, but not as great as those folks on OH say. I recently ordered some samples from another web site somebody over there recommended to try their other flavors. I plan to take the samples to Vegas when I go so I don't have to dump a bunch of powder into a zip lock bag. I have to have my protein drinks! I believe one of the other flavors is called banana bread. They have just about every Vitamin and supplement you can think of at vitacost. I started Vit. D after having that checked. I also get my chewable Multivitamins there. Everything is WAY cheaper than I have seen in any store. -
We have Safeway, Albertsons and a store that is owned by Krogers called Fred Meyer. What stores do you have there in Northern CA, Mac? We aren't that far apart.

My daughter tells me I need to see the therapists that she and her husband saw when they did marriage counseling. They are a husband and wife team. I am going to call them tomorrow. I have gone to counseling off and on throughout life and I think it's time for me to go again. There must be some reason why I think I NEED a man to be happy, and why I always seem to pick losers. The last 2 were both mamma's boys.

Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in The Gals' Room
I have a really hard time getting my hair to curl. I used to get perms all the time, but they never took and they damaged my hair so badly. That's what I need. I need a cut that looks ok but requires not much maintenance. I guess I think like Mac. I wear makeup if it's something special. If mineral wear requires little time to get it on and look good, I am willing to try it. How do they figure out which color to get. I don't think I can do that online. Hey thanks Bob. VA tells me you'll play tour guide while she works, so there is no way I will forget you! -

That sounds really great. I am definitely going to need a make over if I am having any pictures taken. My daughter uses that bare minerals. Isn't it really expensive? I got her some off the tv when she wanted it for Christmas. It must be really worth the money if all of you think it's really great. Sounds like I need to bring A LOT of money. Shopping, hair, makeover, lol. Do you take cabs to the casinos? I've heard that's easier than fooling around with parking garages. But what the heck do I know? -

And while we are on the subject of fussing, what about your hair? I have completely straight hair and I don't know what to do with it. I have no clue how to style my hair. -
What do you want to do that you couldn't do before the sleeve?
Oregondaisy replied to *susan*'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
What is up with all these girls that want to shop at vicky secrets? I just don't get the appeal. I guess I am just too cheap! -
I have been doing much better today. I have been more in the "screw him" mode rather than remembering all the good times. His whole family is crazy. I have 3 different friends who are therapists and they all said the same thing. Everyone in his family is so self absorbed, they think everything is all about them. the guy I started this thread about and I have been emailing. He is messed up too. he seems really nice , but not anyone I would want to meet. I think there is a reason these men my age are single. They are too screwed up to be in relationship.

Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in The Gals' Room
So lets get back to talking about other women's daily concerns and issues. I have another one. Do all of you wear make up all the time. I have never been one that likes to fuss around with stuff like that. My daughter tells me all the time I need to wear make up. I have never seen the point of it. I will put it on if I am going someplace special. I wear glasses so I always say you can't even see my eye make up. I would love to get that eye surgery so I didn't need glasses anymore. Maybe that will be my next big expense. That foundation stuff is bad for your skin. Plus then you have all that hassle every night of taking it off. I Know some women who say they would never even consider leaving the house without "putting their face on" Your thoughts??? -
Okay ladies, we can't these guys beat us out here. Get in that powder room and start posting. There has to be something interesting we can post and share about!

I'm on the other side too
Oregondaisy replied to Bornagainbabe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's crazy how all the doctors have a different post op diet. I wonder why that is. Glad to hear you're doing well Helen. Try to measure if you need to so you don't get too full. I have been too full before and it's been extremely painful.
