Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in The Gals' Room
Does the eye liner hurt? That kind of freaks me out having a needle so close to my eye. Would it be cheaper if you only did the top lid? Also, the line is not really thick is it? -
I have to take a bunch of stuff for my interstitial cystitis. They are all herbs. I got a book called herbs and the urinary tract. Those herbs have helped me so much, and I am really glad I can get them all down.

I will watch for that show Ruthi. I know for me, losing weight has not improved my self esteem all that much. I can't wait to start therapy today.

I hope things go better every day. I feel bad for so many of you that seem to have a rough recovery. I hope this is a turn around, and every day is better.

Oh that's really exciting. It's a buyers market right now , so I think you'll get that house!

That link did not work for me. Is there any scale that shows muscle weight?

Forgive me for I have sinned...

I would have to either eat the entire box or throw the box down the garbage disposal. It's all or nothing with me. Chocolate goes down way too easy. -

Can't wait to hear how everything goes. Keep us posted! -
Believe me, having a tiny stomach is great. I love never being hungry and I love getting full on a small amount of food. I don't feel deprived at all when I watch other people pig out.

Sounds like you're doing great! Keep up the good work. There are several protein drinks that I like so be sure to check out the protein drink thread called rate your liquid protein.

I think 2 lbs a week is great! I didn't lose every week. -

Some are clueless

I saw a thing on tv once that mountain dew is the worst soda you can drink. There is something in it that rots your teeth. They were showing these dentists working on people's teeth, and asking if they drank Mountain Dew. I shouldn't say bad things about it. It's a Pepsi product and I have stock in Pepsi. -
I'm on the other side too

I can't tell when I am full. I have to stop before I am full by recognizing the size portion I know will work. I feel really full like 15-20 min after I am done eating. The times I ate until I felt full, I was really in trouble. I was way too full, and felt like my stomach was going to explode. It was painful. Now I dish up tiny portions, and tell myself I can eat more later if I want. I never want to though. I stay full for a very long time. -
Judy you must have a heck of a lot of energy. There is no way I could keep up a garden and can all that stuff. You're going to be a whirlwind after surgery. Judy, our human tornado!

What do you want to do that you couldn't do before the sleeve?
Oregondaisy replied to *susan*'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I guess I have already accomplished my only goal. I wanted to stop shopping in the plus size department. When I first had WLS, I couldn't even come up with a goal weight. All I knew was I wanted to shop in the regular sizes. It does feel good. Outside of that, I want to be happy. Like I said, there is a thread at LBT that says "why doesn't skinny fix it all?" It doesn't . Being skinny, not that I am skinny, does not necessarily mean happiness. I am starting counseling tomorrow to figure out what it's going to take for me to be happy. -

I hate the way lip stick feels on my lips too. It just feels sticky. I have found some that are those long lasting kinds that kind of dry on your lips so they don't feel as gunky. I would love to find a hair style that works with my hair that looked good and I didn't have to fuss much to make it look nice. It's been long and straight for too long. -

I went to the fair today and had beef teriyaki on a stick. I was very happy I was able to eat it and not get too full or start sliming or foaming. I think I am finally getting the hang of eating solids. I feel really bad for all of you that are having so much trouble eating and drinking. I would go nuts. -
Wisdom about the sleeve

Find a Protein drink that you like. It's important to get your protein in. The folks that seem to be tired and have little energy are the ones that hate the Protein drinks. Try looking at the thread "rate the protein drinks." the nectar drinks seem to be popular. -
Post Surgery Needs for Out-of-State Surgery
Oregondaisy replied to Oregon Rose's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the energy for it. I walked all over the place. I was so bored in the hospital. I wore tee shirts with no bra at all. I really don't need one. I am not endowed in that area. I had jammie pants that were loose around the waist and flip flops. I also wore this cotton duster/robe thing a lot . It zipped up the front. -
How Long Does it Last?

tylenol pm does nothing for me. I take ambien and I have an assortment of other stuff that helps me. Valerian works pretty well and so does Kava Kava. Nothing keeps me asleep though. Dr. wants me to go back on anti depressants but those make people gain weight and I have a lot of trouble with side effects. -

I have a hard time knowing when to stop. I can't go by how full I feel. I had a half a piece of pizza, but just the toppings and one chicken wing yesterday. I didn't feel full, but I knew it was time to stop. Then half an hour, I felt over stuffed. I have realized that I need to stop before I feel full. I'll be 3 months out soon. I can drink as much as I want at one time. I drink 24 oz of Water before I go to work in the morning. That takes probably 10 minutes at the most. I seem to be thirsty when I get up. -

Carol, my dad's house is McKellips and Higley. Now that they put the 202 in, it makes it faster to get everywhere. I would love to meet you too. I go on the 60 all the time. I love AZ Mills. I love all the malls. I live in the middle of nowhere, so it's really fun for me to go there and have real stores to go to. I've met a few people from lap band talk and it's been really nice for me to actually know people cause I do go there pretty often. I'll come this fall and next summer for sure. I love to tube down the salt river. it's a blast! I've been flying into the Mesa Gateway airport these last few times. It's so much more convenient. -
Thanks Mac. I need to split the stuff up. I have been taking everything at once.

I would send a pm to macmadame. she will be able to find out for you. We had a couple of other gals in here who knew all the research, but they haven't been around lately.
