For some strange reason I have been grazing the past few days. All these people who are having trouble eating, and then there is me, who can eat anything and everything in site. I don't like it! Gonna have to do the 5 day pouch test and get back on track. In fact, maybe I'll just go back on the liquid diet for a good week. I just ordered more Protein drinks. I do so much better when I dont eat food at all!

I take Protonix. It comes in generic and it works great. -

I try to picture one of those itty bitty cans of chicken salad. I know one of those works well for me. If I were to chop up solid meat, it would have to fit into one of those cans. Anymore than that, and I am foaming and sliming and miserable. I will be glad to see Mac's picture. -
Renee, since you have had your sleeve longer than some of us, can you tell us if you were nauseous for the first few months? There are quite a few of us who are struggling with this. It would be nice to know it goes away.

Sorry I've been MIA!

You're welcome! I guess if you take it with food in your stomach, the food absorbs it, and it can't do it's job. -
NO appetite - help?

I feel bad for all of you who don't like the Protein drinks. There are many that I like. I also heard from another friend that the Chike that Mac recommends is really good. When I start running out of some of the stuff I have, I am going to order some of that. I do believe Mac posted some links where you can get samples of it. Plus she said she tried a lot of them, and those were one of the few she could tolerate. I really encourage people to try to find one they like. Not getting enough protein can be the cause of being so tired, and generally not feeling well. -
Do you think it's just as good as the one that Mac is talking about?

A lot of people just order the work book. I guess if you have the work book, you really don't need the book.

Why no water with meals?
Oregondaisy replied to Finally!'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's actually both. Sometimes I just can't stand it though. I get so thirsty, I have to have a sip of water when I eat. -
It's good though that you're getting your liquids down. Are you on full liquids yet? Fulls are so much easier than clears. there are a lot of good Soups out there and you can have sf fudgsicles too.

They do sell some off brand at the dollar tree. The ones in the grocery store are by the cans of tuna and they are bumble bee brand. -
I forgot how much I love provolone cheese. I definitely need to pick some of that up next time I venture out to the store. I tend to eat the cheese that comes in sticks. I love the low fat colby jack. I think I eat too much dairy. Today I had a can of slim fast low carb for lunch. Popping open a can was the best I could do today.

I don't think it was something I ate. I honestly think it's from not sleeping. I woke up at 3 am after going to bed at midnight and could not go back to sleep. I have a doctor's appt. thurs.

how do you keep your vitamins down?
Oregondaisy replied to ash's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take mine first, then drink a Protein drink after. If I have something different for Breakfast, I take my Vitamin then have breakfast. I got some liquid Vitamins at costco that I took for awhile too. -
Congratulations Renee! That is an awesome weight loss!

Congratulations! Do you have a surgery date yet? -
I forgot to say congratulations Tiff on getting to wear those crop pants! It always feels so good to be able to wear something that we haven't been able to wear in awhile.

Anyone tried those tiny little cans of chicken salad? I lived on those for a long time in the beginning. -
I was really sick today. I don't know what was wrong. I went to pick up some meds at the vet for my dog and started feeling sick. I had to pull the car over 4 times cause everything was spinning and I opened up the car door and dry heaved each time. When I tried to walk from the car into the house, I fell down. I went to bed and put a cold wash cloth on my head and slept for 3 hours. I feel fine now. It's just so strange. Bearded, hardly anyone can eat bread. Try crackers instead. You have to remember your stomach is the size of your middle finger. You know, the one you feel like putting up when you think of how much the sleeve is annoying you!

VA, It's hard for me to remember that you are only 6 weeks out. I keep thinking you got sleeved about the same time I did. I guess in sleeve world, 6 weeks is a lot longer. In the long run, we will consider that we were sleeved right about the same time. I hope that things start getting easier for you soon. -
Tiff, I hope Aug. flies by for you. Doesn't he come home in Sept? Jane, what program are you talking about?
-
I know at least 20 people who have had RNY and have gained all or most of their weight back. It's great in the beginning, but the dumping syndrome does go away, and their stomachs are stretched to the point that they can eat quite large portions compared to a sleeved stomach.
