What do you want to do that you couldn't do before the sleeve?
Oregondaisy replied to *susan*'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well one of the things that is making me unhappy is I do not get to see my grand daughter at all. She is almost 2 months old and I have seen her 5 times. My son's MIL is a born again Christian and seems to think I am some sort of heathon whatever that is. The point being, she does everything in her power to make sure I can't see her. My son's hands are tied right now because they are staying with his inlaws. Their house is not finished and it's a long way from being finished. My son got laid off, so he is grateful they are feeding all of them. He really can't bring the baby over here, because he gets up in the morning and goes and works on the house until at least 10 pm every day. He does come to see me every day, but his in laws live out of town about 20 miles away, so he can't just run home and get her and his wife is breast feeding, so she can't come and spend the day with me. -
I am not pregnant, because I have not had a period for 5 years. So, we can rule that out. I don't think it's my gall bladder because wouldn't I have right sided pain? I do have an appointment for a complete physical in a month, so I will be having a bunch of tests then. I was just at the doctor and he seemed to think it was lack of sleep. He gave me sleep meds and I have to say I feel a lot better today.

Carol, would you be interested in a trip to Mexicali in Oct when I come to get my dad's house ready to rent? WasA said she would go with me, but she has a very busy work schedule and she never knows ahead of time when she can take time off. She is a nurse and when other nurses call in sick, she has to work extra. I would like to make some solid plans to go and have my tests done there and it would be so nice to go back there and NOT have surgery.

Would you please share some of those recipes? I am always looking for new ideas of high Protein meals. I am so tired of everything. Also, where are you finding the Greek yogurt? Everyone keeps telling me about it and I can't find it anywhere. Is it kept with all the other yogurt in the grocery store? I have looked at Albertsons, Safeway, Kroger and Walmart. That's all we have here. There is no Greek yogurt in any of those stores, unless they keep it somewhere besides with all the other yogurt. Thank you in advance.

Had Sleeve Gastrectomy in Belgium
Oregondaisy replied to Brokerhenry's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Henry, you had your surgery the day after I did! Congratulations on your weight loss. Having the sleeve is the best thing I could have ever done for myself. Hope you'll keep us posted on your progress. -
What do you want to do that you couldn't do before the sleeve?
Oregondaisy replied to *susan*'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Man it's a good thing I am in counseling. I have no goals. I just want to be happy. My really close friend tells me I never smile anymore. I know my dad just died and I am very sad about that. It doesn't help that I am constantly reminded because I have to take care of all of his financial issues until they are are all finished, but that isnt' why I am not happy. You know, I have heard for years, that happiness comes from within. How in the Hell do you learn that? It keeps reminding me of that thread in Lap Band Talk, why doesn't skinny fix it all? Maybe I should read that thread over. -
Don't let me forget when I am there that we need to go scale shopping!

Surgery August 10th with Dr. Aceves
Oregondaisy replied to AJW's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am planning on going in Oct.! I have to go to Phoenix to take care of some stuff to get my dad's house ready to rent to the snow birds. WasA said she would drive to Mexicali with me so I can get my tests. I would not want to drive there by myself so I hope she does not poop out on me. -
Hello, and questions about Foam and Acid!
Oregondaisy replied to PhotoSteve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks VA. I have all the ingredients except for the ricotta. Darn. I was just at the store today too. I don't grocery shop very often these days either. -
OTC Drugs which are ok for sleeve and which are NOT
Oregondaisy replied to BeardedItalian48's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most doctors are recommending Miralax these days. -
Congratulations Mac on your bonus. Mac what do you think about this nausea? Do you know or have read about on other boards if people get the nausea a couple months down the road if they didn't have it right after surgery?

I live in the middle of nowhere and have no Trader Joe's here.

A fleet enema is like any other enema. It goes nowhere near your stomach. -
Surgery August 10th with Dr. Aceves
Oregondaisy replied to AJW's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hope it all goes well. I want to go back to Mexicali just for fun. I had a blast there. It's going to be more fun just to go there and hang out at the Lucerna. -

Where is that ricotta recipe posted? I can't find it. I tried the one that is just ricotta and you bake it and put sauce over it, but I do remember reading one that had sf pudding mixed in it. -
Oh my belly help!
Oregondaisy replied to wayupnorth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did you eat too much? When I was first starting out, a couple of bites is all I could handle. -
Where do you find the Greek yougurt at Walmart? I have been looking for this for months. Is it right there with all the other yougurt? If so, they don't have it at my Walmart. I bought some of the carb smart yesterday and thought it was pretty tasteless. I am going to add some SF syrup that I put in my Protein drinks and see if that helps.

Dr. Campos called me today while I was in Walmart of all places. He was nice enough to hold on while I went outside cause I could not hear him in there or get good reception. He told me to drink SF gatoraide, get some dramamine (SP?) and go to the dr. to see if I have an ear infection. He said ear infections cause nausea. I don't have any symptoms of an ear infection. I think it is sleeve related because I was fine all day and just now I ate some ground turkey meatballs and now I feel very nauseous. I did buy some SF Gatoraide, but I seriously doubt if I have an ear infection.

I sure didn't tell anyone. It's been great. It's nobody's business. You should come to chat. We have a good time in there. And if you're in Southern CA, you're on the time zone most of us are in. You need to chat with your sleeve sisters!

Protonix is great. It's nice and tiny and easy to swallow. I never have acid problems. -

Come in and chat with me!
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am opening the chat window for anyone who wants to talk early. I know it's harder for those people on the east coast or midwest with the time change since those of us on Pacific time don't start until 8 or 9 pm Pacific time. So come on in! -
well if I can find a better one than the one I have while I am in Vegas, I will get it and ship it home. The one I have is okay, but it would be really cool to have a better one since we all know I am addicted to the scale and have no plans to change that.

I went to the dr. and he gave me more sleep meds and scheduled a complete physical in a month. He thinks I am nauseous because I hardly sleep. I doubt if that is what is causing the nausea, but I am all for getting enough meds so I can sleep through the night. If I am still nauseous in a couple days, I am going to ask for nausea medication.

Compulsive Worrier
Oregondaisy replied to Bornagainbabe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is hard to learn. It's hard to know when to stop because I am much more full 15 min after I am done than when I think I am done. I have learned to stop before I am full knowing I will be really full in 15 minutes.
