Hello, and questions about Foam and Acid!
Oregondaisy replied to PhotoSteve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's the one I ate on mushies. -
Yes, I have tried effexor. I am thinking about trying it again because I think when I tried it, that was before it came with the extended release or whatever the newest one is. It's supposed to come on slower and more evenly, so that you don't get such a big dose when you first swallow it. Right before my dad died, my dr. wanted me to try it but my ins. would not pay for it and wanted me to try Paxil Prozack Zoloft Cymalta, etc all which I have tried already. He has to write a letter telling them I have tried everything other than the extended release types. I am sort of afraid to try again, because going through those side effects is so hard.

No, I can't take those medications. I get sweaty, headaches, nauseous, feel like I drank 1,000 cups of coffee, and they make my insomnia worse. The one I can take which is one of the oldest ones, amitriptiline, causes horrible weight gain. I think that was the beginning of all my gaining weight. All the newer ones which are the SSRI's cause me every side effect that is listed is possible.

maybe we should send a few pms to him!

My daughter is not trying to ruin my life, but she says she can't be around me because I am depressed. I have tried just every anti depressant on the market and have had horrible side effects. I told her to stop her Lexaapro for a few weeks and let me know how she feels after that. It's easy to say focus on the positive but it gets to a point when you are depressed that you can't "just snap out of it" I have been this way before but was able to take an anti depressant which helped tremendously. They took that one off the market because it causes liver failure, and I haven't ever been able to find one I could tolerate after that.[/color]

My favorite Protein drink is choc. peaunut butter that you have to order online from Netrition.com - The Internet's Premier Nutrition Superstore! Ask Mack to list the websites for the sample packages. That way you can try a few and not have to buy a lot. I am not sure where she put that thread. I have heard from others that the brand she likes called Chike is good. I am not sure where she gets that either. I was allowed the chicken, tuna and egg salad on soft foods. Just make sure it's chopped up very finely and take tiny bites. I could only eat about 3 bites in the beginning. I would think soft turkey breat deli meat would be okay as it's very soft. Again, tiny bites and chew it up til there is nothing left to chew.

Oh my belly help!
Oregondaisy replied to wayupnorth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yea, I had my appendix out and it's the lower right side. Some people have to go through the food stages slower as their body heals slower. -
It's not even a month since you had your surgery! Don't be so hard on yourself! The doctor that most of went to recommends at least 60 grams of Protein per day and about 800 calories. Good sources of protein are cottage cheese, and eggs if you can stand them. Some people have trouble with eggs but in the beginning, I mixed hard boiled chopped up eggs with low fat mayo or miracle whip and a little bit of mustard. I also ate tuna salad and chicken salad. I am not sure what food stage you are supposed to be on. Are you drinking Protein drinks? That's the easiest way to get a good shot at protein. Did your doctor put you on a post op diet?

Tandy, I am also having a really hard time seeing your font. It's very small and very light. Can someone direct Tandy how to change the color and make it a little bigger? I don't want to miss anything she is saying! -

I have spent most of the day crying. I am not usually somebody that cries a lot. My daughter and I got into a fight yesterday and I think everything is just mounting between my dad dieing and my relationship ending and now my daughter is pissing me off trying to run my life like she is the mother.

Most of the time I can chat earlier. I am never doing anything in the evenings and I love to chat. Just send me a pm with what time you want to chat. I am leaving the chat window open right now so that I will hear the door bell if someone can come in. It's late now, but some people do come in late anyway.

Good luck to all of you. I just wanted to say that once you can have the sf pudding, it's really good frozen for something different. I also really enjoyed egg drop Soup. It's one of the Soups that actually has some Protein in it. I also had cream of chicken soup but made sure to put it in the blender to blend it up fine enough that there were no chunks what so ever in the soup.

What is the time difference between there and the US on the West Coast Pacific time? We have a good time in the chat room in the evenings. I know in the lap band chat room, a lot of the UK people would come in late because of the time difference. I am a night owl so that's okay with me. Glad you found us. We are all very supportive and are happy to answer questions. There are some very knowledgeable people in here. -
I got a phone call from my friend who is sleeved and having problems. I had the window open but ended up talking to her for an hour. She has been on vacation and we hadn't talked in awhile. I'll check in tomorrow.

I have been going to counseling for some other issues and the first thing they asked me when I told them I had WLS was if I developed any other addictions. At first I didn't even know what they meant. They had to clarify, do you gamble, shop , or drink? It kind of cracked me up. I hate gambling because I am cheap. I am not fond of shopping unless I need to buy something. Luckily, I hate the taste of alcohol. I am even having trouble bringing myself to drink that sugar free gatoraide that Dr. Campos suggested I drink because it has artificial sweetner in it.

Tiffy said last night she would be in there for sure tonight. I know I will be in there for sure waiting for everyone. I'll try to get there before 9. I usually open the window and do other things, then wait for the sound of the door bell that lets me know someone came in to chat!

Realistically.. what should I expect?
Oregondaisy replied to CherryG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That is really hard to say. Your BMI is not as very high. People who have a higher BMI lose faster because they have more to lose. I can tell you when I weighed 235 when I had my band surgery, I lost 22 lbs in the first 4 weeks while on the post op diet. I didn't lose anymore for quite awhile though, because your body sometimes trys to get used to it's new weight and stalls for awhile. Let's see what everyone else thinks! -
Surgery August 10th with Dr. Aceves

I have to be in Phoenix when my dad's CD expires on October 7th. It's been amazingly difficult to get his banking done here. I have gone through all of this with the Chase banker when I had to drive 100 miles to get to a Chase bank. How will I get from Phoenix to Vegas so we can all go together? I don't know if you are aware of the fact that I absolutely hate driving. Driving that 100 miles was about my limit. sorry to hijack your thread! -
Sure, why not? It seems like we are going everywhere else! We need to try that Greek Yogurt since everyone seems to keep raving about it. There is a Trader Joe's in the city I drive to when I go out of town to shop, but I always think I should bring a cooler, but never remember to do it.
