What are your plans this weekend? My plans this weekend are hanging out with Vegas Angel Bearded Italian and Ruthi. We went to downtown Las Vegas last night and that was a real eye opener. It was a lot of fun. There was music playing and a dome over the whole area with Woodstock music playing and a moving video of scenes from Woodstock. It was really cool. This afternoon Vegas Angel Ruthi and I went shopping. We found the Fage yogurt at Trader Joes which I am anxious to try. I wish I had a Trader Joes. I also bought a scale at Jennie Craig and I am having it shipped home. Tonight we are going to see a show and to the Strip. That should be a lot of fun. Tomorrow I have to fly home. 2) What's your favorite movie and why? My favorite movie is Forest Gump. I don't know why I love that movie so much, other than it spans the entire time of when I grew up. 3) How many states have you visited? Lived in? Your favorite? I have visited so many states I couldn't list them all. When I was 17 my parents dragged me around on this trip across the United States with their RV from Chicago to California all the way back to New Orleans. The only states we missed were the Northeastern ones. I was a teenager who missed my bf at the time, and was not pleasant to be around at the time. The only states I have lived in are Oregon and Illinois. I would love to live in San Diego because I think the weather is perfect there. That will never happen though, because I know how expensive it is to live there. I do like Oregon better than living in Chicago, although I miss Lake Michigan a lot. It's like a big nice warm ocean. The ocean in Oregon is freezing cold and pretty to look at but not much good to play in.

I decided to go to support group tonight. I love my support group but my band dr. does not do sleeves. He does a lot of RNY and bands. Last I heard, he was going to start doing sleeves soon, cause people are requesting them. I sure didn't want to be his first one even though he is a great surgeon. I am going to tell them while I was in Arizona I started having band problems again and just decided I was sick of all the band problems and decided it was time for a revision. Every time I got on an airplane, my band tightened up and I was miserable for several days. I was doing a lot of flying right around that time too. I am sure everyone is going to be shocked. I have been going to that support group for over 2 years and we have all gotten to be a pretty close group.

I don't know why the band tightens up after flying. I have heard a lot of people say it though. It must have something to do with the air pressure and altitude. That is all I can think of.

So Mac,are you still going to do the pictures? I know at 3 1/2 months out, there is no way I could eat 1/4 of a 6" subway sandwich with bread. I can eat a piece of deli ham wrapped around a piece of string cheese. I can eat the middle of an enchilada, no shell. I tell them to make it with the chicken, the sour cream and the guac. with a little bit of sauce and cheese on top. It depends on the amount of chicken they give me, but I can usually eat all of that. Something like steak, I can eat about 5 bites if I chew it really well and cut it up very tiny.

My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. I could haved saved myself ten grand and a lot of misery from the band, if I had known about the sleeve first. Best wishes to you. Welcome to our board. You're going to do great!

I did that at first and some of them tasted pretty horrible. I can take any size pill or capsule now, thank goodness, because I take a lot.

Tiffy does. What time are you thinking? We can coordinate a time that will work for you, after this weekend.

I do notice that eating sweets makes me feel sick. It's easier to stay away when I know the feeling that's going to come afterwards. I don't know if that goes away in time.

I take Protonix. It's a very good acid reducer. I notice I am more nauseous in the morning. I am good about getting my Protein in. I have a Protein Drink every morning and protein at every meal. I am doing a lot better at figuring out my portion size so I don't over eat and that's a big step for me. Eating too much and being in pain because of it is miserable. I now know when to stop eating even though I don't feel full at the table. I know I will be full in 15 min.

There are an awful lot of us who had surgery by Dr. Aceves. I plan to go back there in Oct. and have all my post op lab work done and an Upper GI. Welcome to our board.

My friend who got the sleeve at the beginning of May, was able to get off her diabetes medication.

I try to keep my carbs under 30 and 800 calories per day. I use water in my protein drinks.

I was pretty positive that Tiffy said she ordered her samples from Vita lady. You could send a pm to Mac. She knows where to get those samples and others too. I had to mix my Hawaiin punch half strength with unflavored Protein powder because it was too sweet. I can't remember which flavor I liked. There was one I did not like.

I love muscle milk light too. Not that many people like it . they say it's too sweet. I think it tastes great. Try those tiny cans of chicken salad. They were a savior for me in the beginning. they are just the right size and extremely cheap.

I have learned pretty much to look at the portion and even though I don't feel full, I know it's time to stop. Then sure enough, 15 min later, I am full. It's strange. If I ate until I was full at the table, I am sure 15 min. later I would explode!

I hate salt. I can even taste it in cheese. I think the only thing I like salt on is cooked broccoli.

I bought some bars at costco today called Twisted. they have pretzels mixed in. They were a bad choice though. I was in a hurry and didn't read the box until I was out in the car. They have 15 carbs and 15 grams of Protein. They are more of a snack, but I don't like the carb content. I guess it's better than a candy bar with no protein at all.

You might want to order some samples from Vitalady of the nectar Protein. Everyone seemed to think the caribean cooler was good. Check out that thread "rate your liquids." There aren't many people who like the isopure. I didn't mind it because it had a lot of protein and I just kept it in the fridge and took a sip through out the day . there was no way I could guzzle a whole bottle of it but I could stand a sip of just about anything. It got me through. I also bought unflavored protein poweder from GNC and mixed it into crystal lite. Hope you feel better soon!

I forgot about that meet up.com. I used to check it out but nobody around here seemed to be too active with it. I will need to check again.
