    My first NSV

That's so great Tiffy. I love Mexican food and I find that chicken goes down easy, especially with guac. and sour cream. You've lost A LOT of weight, so of course you had no problem fitting at the table!

    popcorn

It's easy for someone to tell you not to worry. When you have been raised by someone who taught you to worry, it's not an easy habit to break. I have to work on it all the time. When I catch myself worrying, I try to put my mind somewhere else.

Need advice - band or sleeve?

HappyinAZ, My dad's house is in Mesa and I will be coming to AZ in Oct. I would bed happy to talk to you about the band and the sleeve.

    Is this normal

I could barely tell I had surgery. I love the sleeve. I loved losing weight right from the beginning and I had no pain to speak of. I went back to work in less than a week.

Need advice - band or sleeve?

Living with the band is miserable. You have to keep going for fills and diet until you get the fill right. Most people don't even feel like they have a band for a few months. Then is they get the fill too tight, you are miserable. You can hardly eat anything, have to live on liquids only, have constant heartburn. I could go on and on. The sleeve is great . Right from the beginning you start losing weight. You get full on small portions and you don't have to go back for any adjustments. It's great.

Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?

I didn't know they could do anything about the neck. I always see people on tv with face lifts and that turkey neck so I assumed the neck could not be fixed. Carol, I went to the post office today and applied for my passport. They said I should have it in 4 weeks. WasA said she is planning to go with us.
  8. I don't think that goes on at this board. I have never seen any posts like that. I am sure that I haven't seen every thread, but to my knowledge, nobody has knocked anybody's doctor.
  9. thanks for keeping us updated Lisa. I am glad to hear you're doing so well. I have my band in a plastic bag on my dresser. I like looking at it now and then, and being glad it's not in my body anymore.

    Dr. Aceves - August 15th

Glad you are recovering and back letting us know how you are doing. I agree. I loved everything about Dr. Aceves and staff. I am excited to go back in Oct. to see them all again. Now the fun starts, when you see the pounds falling off on the scale!
  11. I never told my dad. I didn't want to hear his negative comments. In fact, there aren't very many people that I told. We will all be here to support you. Having this board makes all the difference in the world.

    sugar substitutes

I've never tried them. Thank goodness I like all my protein drinks and I am such a chocoholic so bullets have no appeal to me.

    My experience for you newbies

I am so glad to hear you're feeling so much better! That's a great weight loss too. I am really happy for you!
  14. I hope your ins. pays for your revision. I didn't have ins. to help, but I could not get that band out of me fast enough. Welcome to the board. We are such a big happy family here.

    Starting to exercise

I don't eat much before I head off to the gym. I eat a protein bar or half of one, depending on the size, or a protein shake. I go in the morning right after I wake up. I eat a protein snack when I get back, and then something more substantial right before work.
  16. Ruthi it was really nice eating with you and the others over the past weekend. It's hard to eat around others who don't understand. I know we all wanted to eat more of those nachos and it was a good thing the show was calling us so we didn't have to think about it much longer. It was nice being with someone who understood!

do you FEEL like you have to pee

I am just the opposite. I have to go all the time. I have a bladder disease called interstitial cystitis and it's very painful if my bladder is not empty.
  18. Yea, I really wish I had done it sooner. I spent way too many years exercising my brains out and not losing an ounce.

    All was well until today

I had to run to the bathroom today. I don't know what caused it other than I had a piece of pepperoni stick that was kind of greasy.

Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?

I am just learning about make up. I bought some of the Bare Minerals. I would love to know how to make my nails stronger though.

    come into the chat room!

I will leave the chat window open in case anyone wants to come and talk.
  22. I really liked the hip hop dance class they had at my gym. I know I would like the hip hop dvd, but I would have to make plans to do it with someone. I can't see myself putting it in the DVD player and actually doing it at home. I'd end up buying it and then feeling guilty for never using it. My daughter wants to exercise. I should suggest that to her. It's more fun to work out with someone else.

    What's on your mind?

I like muscle milk light RTD. It's my favorite. I have tried all their flavors cause they sell it at my gym. I like the choc. and vanilla. The others are yucky.

    Need clarification

It does stretch somewhat but not nearly as much as the stomach they make when the gastric byspass surgery. They use the muscular part of the stomach that isn't as stretchy to do a sleeve stomach.
  25. I know what you mean about being a worrier. I am one too and it gets difficult to worry all the time, but it's a really hard habit to break.
