I have heard other people say they have found Okios at Walmart. I don't know why my stupid walamrt only carries Brown cow brand.

From a size 22/24 to a 4/6, Band to Sleeve
Oregondaisy replied to WASaBubbleButt's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am glad you got your sleeve and are happy with it. I am also glad you found our board. I went to Dr. Aceves without any family or anyone going with me. It was easy and problem free. I love my sleeve and I am really thankful that Dr.Aceves is such not only and excellent surgeon, but a great kind caring man that makes people so comfortable leaving the country to go and see him. -
No More weight coming off...and bummed

Tuna will work for you again. When I first moved off liquids, I could only eat about 3-4 bites of anything no matter what it was. -
Tiff has a young boy in the house. I am sure he loves his crunch berries. I always tried to buy healthy cereal for my kids when they were little, but for a special treat, they loved getting crunch berries.

Making the switch... One day

So tell them you are going to San Francisco. They will never be the wiser. Honestly, I loved Mexicali. Dr. Campos is just adorable and Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos both come to see you in your room 3 times per day. -
Now you know how I feel.

I finally found some at walmart. All they had was blue berry flavor. The brand is Brown Cow. It's really good. It's 100 calories for a pretty small portion, but the protein count is way higher than any other yogurt. i wish I could find fage here. I tried it in Vegas, but we just don't have it here.

clear liquid requirement
Oregondaisy replied to cajun's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just don't like my water or liquids to be too cold. it seems to go down a lot easier for me if I drink it room temp or a little bit colder. I too drink about 80-100 oz per day with no trouble. It takes me 24 oz just to get my morning pills down. -

Ruthi, I am sure being post menopausal plays a huge part in it all. Our bodies are just not the same and we don't lose like we did when we were young. It's unfortunate, but at least with the sleeve, we have a good fighting chance. -
Vegas, those pictures don't do you justice. You look way thinner in person.

How much help do you need when you get home?
Oregondaisy replied to attitudefree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was in the hospital for 3 days as well. I felt fine by myself. I live alone and nobody came here to help me. I went right back to work. -
Lack of interest in food
Oregondaisy replied to MSgirlinFL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stayed on Protein shakes for the longest time because it just felt easier and I could get them down better than anything. You don't have to rush food. There are a lot of people who have trouble with eggs who are several months post op. Eggs don't seem to be a sleeve friendly food. -
I will be 57 in Oct. and I have lost a total of 95 lbs. There are a lot of people who lose over 100 lbs no matter what their age. You will love the sleeve.

Insurance coverage for revision?
Oregondaisy replied to Bandedbut's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had never heard of it either. I could have saved myself 10 grand. I would have never found out about the sleeve though, if it were not for lap band talk. So it all worked out. -

Do you have a ball park date of when you'll be meeting him at the airport? -
Every lb counts Ruthi. We all no it's no race. I always remember that I would have weighed more by now without WLS and don't worry too much about how fast I am losing.

What brand are you using? I got mine at GNC and it was their own brand. -
Home and improving

I checked around and found out that Dr. Jossart & Cirrangle have a 1% leak rate. That is a very low leak rate. Dr. Aceves though has never had one single leak. I am glad though that you were confident in your surgeon. That is what you need going into surgery. I hope you're feeling better every single day and that scale keeps moving right on down. -
Otay -- tell me about the sleeve
Oregondaisy replied to Manatee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Mine is sitting on my dresser. I like to look at it every now and then so I can be so glad it sitting on my dresser rather than wrapped around my stomach. -

I think 600 calories per day is too low. That's just my opinion. -
Free Chike Protein Samples
Oregondaisy replied to Tiffykins's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I didn't get any Blender Bottle either. I tried the strawberry, but I mixed it with half a scoop of EAS strawberry powder because I didn't want half of a serving. I guess with the rest, I will drink half a serving of one flavor and half a serving of another flavor, so I can have a full serving. I am doing only Protein shakes this week cause I am tired of being the same weight and I am only 2 lbs from goal. I want to get there by next week. This up 2 lbs and down 2 lbs is getting old. -

Wow! That is very expensive. I am very glad I found Dr. Aceves. I don't know about having his work published, but I do know that he has a lot of band to sleeve revision surgeries, and is doing 5 sleeves to every one band these days. I am sorry for everything you went through at the airport. I had them tear my stuff apart at the airport the last time I flew, and it was no fun. I can't imagine them doing it if I was feeling poorly. Lucky for me, I couldn't even tell I had surgery by the time I flew home. -
Dehydration Issues.
Oregondaisy replied to PhotoSteve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, I am sorry you went through that. I hope drinking gets easier for you. I am always able to drink A LOT of water. Just make sure you are always using something to measure. Water that comes in bottles have the amount right on the bottle, but if you use any other container, be sure you figure out how much it holds. -

Another question about Dr. Aceves

Not only very nice, but very nice looking, if you had the same one I had. I am not sure if they have more than one, lol
