Do you have muscle relaxers? What about a heating pad? I have always heard those help.

Yeah, I am joining a book club and the ball room dancing. There is a hiking group, but I hate that they drive miles and miles to go on a hike. That's the last thing I feel like doing is driving 100 miles for a certain hike. Maybe if I went to one of the closer ones, I could meet someone to car pool with.

I think I over did it this weekend
Oregondaisy replied to TennJenn's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I over did it as well. I wish I could say that I over did it with work, but I over did it with junk food. Cookies to be exact. I just decided to take a break from it all and ate an entire bag of cookies. they were mint choc. like the girl scout cookies. I decided to eat the whole bag in one day rather than drag it out. They are gone now and it's back to the ol routine. I gained 2 lbs which I didn't think was that much for an entire bag of cookies. I think it's because I have been really sick. I can't exercise because I feel like cr@p and all I have been doing is laying around . I go to the dr. tomorrow. I am really sick of being sick. -
Liquid Preop and calories
Oregondaisy replied to shanda7182's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're lucky that you like the isopure. Most people hate it. I never minded it. It's a great way to get in all the Protein. As far as calories go, Dr. Aceves tells his patients not to go over 800 . Can you email or call your dr.. to get more precise instructions? -
No More weight coming off...and bummed
Oregondaisy replied to AJW's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh my DD swears that VS bras are really comfortable. I think once you get to that stage, just go try some on. You can also get them on ebay much cheaper. (or so she says) -
So do I Chancie. I live in the middle of nowhere, and it's really hard to meet people in my age group. I wish I had a friend to go to listen to Kareoke sp? . I think that would be fun. Everywhere around here, the places are filled up with the 21-30 age group. I hate the thought of being old alone too. There are all the online dating sites, but the same guys who all seem to be losers have been on these sites for the past few years. I was with my bf for a year, and now that I have gone back to looking online, it's all the same guys that were there before I met him. It's depressing.

I think I am going to go to my local heath food store and see if they can order fage for me.

Otay -- tell me about the sleeve
Oregondaisy replied to Manatee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think you will be happy with the sleeve Manatee. It's little hard to learn in the beginning just how little you can eat, but it does get better. There have been a few with a harder recovery due to hiatal hernias. I had mine repaired and had not trouble whatsoever with recovery or with any foods not working or being harder to eat. I did stay on liquids and mushies longer than I was told to, just because learning to eat solids took a little bit more time. Please let us know if you have any questions of if we can help in any way. -
We had hip hop dance classes at my gym and I absolutely loved them. I would love this too.

An unhappy bandster & a typical story
Oregondaisy replied to betrthnever's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Having the sleeve is nothing like having the band. You have restriction from day one of surgery. I am never hungry. I could not be happier to have that band out of me. Like you, I wish I had known about the sleeve first. I lost all my weight with the band but gained 15 back from having band problems and having to be completely unfilled. I lost that on the post op diet after sleeve surgery. It's been easy to maintain that and lose 8 more. I'd still like to lose a few more, but I am good with where I am if I don't. Living with the sleeve is a breeze. -
Way to go Ruthi! I remember how excited I was when I fit into my first size 12s. My biggest NSV ever was when I was talking with my trainer awhile back about putting a profile up on a dating site. I asked him which box to check, average or "a few exra lbs." I wanted a man's opinion. He said You're definitely average. That same day, a man at the gym asked me how I keep my legs so toned. I was literally shocked. I just pointed to the machines I use.

Careful. some doctors will make you pay something if you don't give them a 24 hour notice before you cancel.

No More weight coming off...and bummed
Oregondaisy replied to AJW's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Spandex I tell ya! Panties with a little spandex instead of all nylon/ cotton blend will make them stay up and make it so you can wear them longer before changing sizes again. -
He had strange mannerisms, and said weird things. I also didn't appreciate that he said he didn't smoke, but as soon as lunch was over, out popped a cigarette. He doesn't have my phone # but he does have my email address. I am going to have to tell him smoking is a deal breaker for me.

From a size 22/24 to a 4/6, Band to Sleeve
Oregondaisy replied to WASaBubbleButt's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Your poor mom. That's difficult since the treatment for it is very hard on people. I know some people who have gone through it and they were miserable. -
Oh please report which movies you saw. I always need movie reviews. I want to rent something called vicky christina with Penelope Cruz. Ellen Degeneres was just talking about what a great movie it was, and I noticed when I looked it up that it won an academy award.

Surgery Week of August 24th?
Oregondaisy replied to DownInSocal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I find the easiest way to navigate this board is to the top of the board and click on user CP. That will bring you to every thread you have posted in. Hope that helps someone. From there I usually go to new posts and see if there is anywhere else I want to add my 2 cents. -
Thanks Tiff. Maybe there is some hope . At this point I am kind of doubtful.

Why would you leave the US for surgery?
Oregondaisy replied to Leuteus's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
WasA refuses to post at this board anymore even though several people have emailed her and asked her to come back. People miss her and she knows it , but still refuses to post on this board. She has her own personal reasons. -
Making the switch... One day
Oregondaisy replied to Daisalana's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't remember what Dr. Aceves price for revision from band to sleeve is. I am positive it's less than $15,000 though. I am thinking it's $11,000. You would have to call the number to the right of the screen. They were running specials during the summer because it's so hot in Mexicali this time of year. If you want, I have a big long email with all of Dr. Aceves credentials on it that could ease the mind of your family. -
Dehydration Issues.
Oregondaisy replied to PhotoSteve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am the same way. I eat out a lot. They always look at me like I am crazy when I say water no ice please. I drink a lot of water, but it's always room temp. -
Free Chike Protein Samples
Oregondaisy replied to Tiffykins's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Oh Mac I am glad to see you posting. I was afraid you were going to run off like Elisabeth and WasA. -
Tiff have you tried the soy slender? it's very thin like water and the flavor is not over bearing. It's not in the refrigerated section. It's on the shelf at the grocery store. I like the vanilla and choc both. I don't think they are overly sweet.
-
Oh don't feel bad Tiff. I have hair all over the bathroom floor and counter and every time I wash my hair, I lose about 4 handfuls and I had not complications. You'll do fine Manatee. Just get that stinkin band out. It's the band that causes all these complications.

Places to get liquid protein samples
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I bought my unflavored protein powder at GNC for the clear stage which I mixed with crystal lite. I thought posting a spot where people could buy samples would be a good idea, since so many people end up buying tubs of stuff they end up not liking.
