Hope I can't even see your font at all. I have tried to read your posts but I can't see them. Your posts are not nearly the same size as anyone else's. I don't mean to be rude, but on my screen it's so itty bitty, I can barely see it.

Hey...another newbie here!
Oregondaisy replied to Baldrick's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You asked about throwing up. Yes, it's common for people to throw up at first with the sleeve. If you eat too much, or eat something your new tummy does not like, up it comes. I hadn't done it in awhile, and then last week I ate some chicken too fast cause I was late to an appt. I didn't chew it well enough and took too big of bites and sure enough, I knew it was going to come back up. Believe me, when that happens, you're happy to have it come up rather than be miserable. There is really no way of knowing what your'e going to like after surgery. I am one of the only people on here that liked what I liked before surgery and liked it just the same after surgery. There is a thread I started that shows where you can get samples of different things to try. Everyone says not to buy too much of anything ahead because after surgery, you may hate it. There is also the thread "rate your liquids" where people talk about what they like. -
You really can't just keep eating and eating with the sleeve. It's just too painful. I guess you could graze and eat something every hour or so. Try making a list of every reason you want to lose weight and putting them on 3x5 index cards. Put the cards all over the house, on your mirrors, on the fridge, in your purse, and in the car. Look at them frequently.

Come in and chat with me!
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So what time is that on Pacific? That would be 6pm here right? I am usually at my DD visiting my grandson til around 7. Will ck in after that. -
I love reading the posts here. I read even more than I post and I do post a lot too. Some people are using very tiny fonts that are really hard to read. I sure don't want to miss anything being the curious little bugger that I am. I wear glasses but some of the fonts are still so tiny I really have to struggle to read them. If you go to user cp then to edit options on the left, right at the very bottom is where you can set your font size so that every post is the same size and you don't have to set it every time you post. Thank you in advance if you're willing to set your font so that it's a size that is easier to see.

I need some protein advice
Oregondaisy replied to kromrider's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used unflavored protein powder that I bought at GNC. I put it in everything. You just have to keep sipping all the time. Isopure is something that saved me in the beginning but a lot of people don't like it. You can buy it at GNC but I would not buy very much of one flavor until you try it and see if you can drink it. -
Welcome to VST! Glad you're having your surgery soon and that you joined our little family here!

Not Sure Where To Put This

What main board is that Susan? -
Some NSV (and a scale victory too!)
Oregondaisy replied to Malaika's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sounds like I need to take a cruise! Glad you two are back and that you had a great time! -
You and me both Mac. I used to have such thick hair and it really bothers me that half of it's gone. People say it's not noticeable, but it sure is to me. My pony tail is half the size it used to be, and I can't keep barrettes in my hair at all anymore. They just fall out.

Come in and chat with me!
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Tiffy is in Florida so whatever time zone that is. I am on the west coast so I am on Pacific time. I usually open the chat window and leave it open while I do other things. That way, there is a door bell that rings and when someone enters the chat room, I can hear it and know that somebody wants to chat. I suggested we set up a regular chat night and time and try to work it out during a time that is convenient for a lot of people. Leaving the chat window open also works fine for me, cause I am usually on my lap top in the evenings, so even if I am on another site, I can hear the doorbell ring and go back to the chat room. -
Very good post Susan. I agree. We come here for support and we should not bash other sleevesters whether they used to post here or still post here. We should support each other, or go into the lounge and talk about other issues that concern us, because frankly, I get tired of my life revolving around my WLS. I mean, it's a big part of my life, but I do have other things to talk about as well.

Thank you everyone. It was very hard to hold Abby in my arms while she struggled to breathe and feel her heart stop beating. I do feel that this was better than having to have her put down, but it was extremely painful holding her in my arms while she suffered and gasped trying to breathe. I don't think I ever want another dog. They just can't live as long as people, and I never want to go through that again. My dad did live 90 long years and he wasn't happy since my mom died and all his friends were dead. It's just a lot to take in such a short time. Vegas, I am glad you're back and I hope you had a fabulous time! I am still doing counseling, and I am starting ball room dancing classes soon. I also found a group of people through meetup.com to discuss books and videos in an area that I am very interested in. So I am meeting new people, and trying to get on with my life. Thank you everyone for your care and concern.

I asked Dr. Aceves point blank if she was getting paid to do any kind of promoting for him or paid by him or his staff in any way for anything. He laughed and said she is a happy patient but she receives nothing for telling people how happy she is with her surgeon and the hospital he practices out of. I sincerely do not think he would lie. He told me the people who are paid, who are Monica, Nina, Gabby, and Renee. They are the people you talk to when you call the phone number he advertises on this site and lap band talk. WasA is just like you, Phoenixrising, she is just happy with her surgeon.

Hope for me, do you think you could use the little button up on top of where you post to make your font a little larger? I love to read all the posts, but when they are really tiny, it's hard on my eyes which will be 57 years old next month. I do wear glasses, but tiny fonts are still very hard to see. It would be much appreciated.

An unhappy bandster & a typical story
Oregondaisy replied to betrthnever's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Please keep posting on the rate your liquids threads. We want people to know everyone's opinion on what people really like or the opposite and think it's not drinkable. There is also a thread I made where you can order samples so that you don't buy too much of one thing. -
Day to day eating changes
Oregondaisy replied to BobBayCityMI's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
slime is when you mouth fills up with saliva and lots of it to where you have to keep spitting it out. Sometimes you throw up a big thick gob of it. It's the bodies way to try to get rid of whatever is bothering it. If I eat too fast or take a big bite and not chew well enough, this is what happens. It hadn't to me in a long time but then the other day I was late to a meeting and tried to eat too fast and then I was in trouble. The sliming can go on and on and on until the food either comes up or finally gets digested. Maybe someone else can describe it better. -
A Blessing in the form of a curse

Just curious, why did you need a sleeve revision? Did you have to pay again? -
1 Step Forward, 5 Steps Backward
Oregondaisy replied to Lisanne's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You can do it Lisa! Once you make it a habit, you'll find yourself dreading it less. Can you find a work out buddy? If you have someone to go with you, it's not as easy to talk yourself out of going. -
Carol do you think a 38 blouse will be too big for you? I picked it out of the closet but I can look upstairs where all my clothes are.
-
Good luck to both of you. I wish one of you were going to be there when I am going on the 12th for tests.

I just noticed this past couple of weeks a dramatic change in the amount I am losing. I had surgery at the end of april.

my friend says the only way I am going to get over my last bf (actually, I am doing pretty well with that) was to meet someone new. She wanted me to meet a friend of hers. She sang his praises. I went to lunch with him and thought he was weird. Maybe I am picky. It's difficult at my age because guys in their late 50's look like little old men to me. This guy didn't look that way, but I thought he was odd. Maybe I'll just be alone the rest of my life. It took me 3 years of dating when I met Bill and called my daughter and said he's a keeper. All the rest, I had no desire to see a 2nd time. Can't wait for my ball room dancing classes to start. At least I will be doing something fun, but will be under no obligation to act attracted if I am not. Now my friend is going to be all excited and call me and ask me what I thought . I will have to pretend that I thought he was nice, just not my type, when honestly, I thought he was an odd ball.

Anyone go home same day as surgery?
Oregondaisy replied to TexasT's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was not allowed to drink anything for 24 hours either. The next day, I was supposed to drink 2 oz every 20 min and it was very difficult for me to drink that slowly. I wanted to drink whatever they put in front of me. I was not on any pain meds what so ever 24 hours after surgery. I drank broth, crystal lite, and apple juice all day long with no pain or problems. So, we are all different. My biggest problem was timing myself to drink slow enough because I didn't want to get a leak, but I was not in any pain from drinking and felt completely normal. -
Frustrated and need to vent......
Oregondaisy replied to shanda7182's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Shanda when will you know if your shots are working and whether or not you'll be able to move forward with the sleeve?
