I am so glad to have that band out of me. I love the sleeve. Maintaining my weight is effortless. -
Look at the U tube demonstration on the beginning of this thread. It looks like so much fun!

when do others notice?
Oregondaisy replied to attitudefree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
People started noticing when I started wearing clothes that fit me. I wore clothes that were too big and baggy for quite awhile because I just didn't want to invest in a lot of clothes that weren't going to fit for very long. As soon as I started wearing form fitted clothes I got comments every day. -
Fluids and Fiber - TMI story but important

I love adding dried cranberries too. It really jazzes up the taste of salad. -
The Sleeve Surgery in MX?
Oregondaisy replied to Cristine's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am willing to bet that over half of us on this board have had surgery with Dr. Aceves. There is not one of us who was unhappy with the care we received, and I am positive that every single one of us would highly recommend him, his hospitial, and all of his staff! -
I drank some no sugar added pure apple juice and added unflavored protein powder to it when I was on the post op clear stage. I wasn't worried about the carbs because everything else I drank was carb free. I could only have 4 oz at at time, so I didn't think that that few amount of carbs would matter much.

Welcome home Judy. So glad you're home and on the losing side now. Feel free to complain to us often as needed about being on the horrible liquid diet for the next 20 days! So glad you're back!

Oh I have done it that way too. I do it that way if I don't have that person's messages in my inbox. If I have already pmed with somebody, I just go in my inbox and hit reply. It is way easier actually to just click on their name in a thread.

Fluids and Fiber - TMI story but important
Oregondaisy replied to DownInSocal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Salad really doesn't do it for me. There really isn't much fiber in lettuce. I can actually eat quite a bit of salad, if it's just mixed greens. They chew down to water. I am like Vegas though. I add chicken breast to my salad and chop it up into really little pieces, and then I can't eat much of the salad. -
I had a fitting at Macy's. thank goodness I don't need to shop at Lame Bryant anymore.

My gym is going to be starting classes. I am not sure when, but they have been playing the DVDs in the reception area and I can hardly wait for the classes to start.

Fluids and Fiber - TMI story but important

My doctor recommends Miralax. He says it's okay to use it every day. It is not a stimulant laxative . I don't use it every day. I had one painful BM and decided that was never going to happen again. I drink a ton of Water and have ever since surgery. I know I get all the water I am supposed to have every day. I thought at first it was because I don't eat as much to make much waste, but that theory went out the window after one painful bm. Now I take half a dose of Miralax every other day and all is well. -
Maybe each brand fits differently? That's all I can think of. What I want to know is where you found a 48 B. When I was wearing a 40B, I could never find that size. They think if you're a B you should be smaller around. I am having trouble finding bras to fit me again. My boobs have shrunk so much, I can't fill the cups out!

I don't like their software but I have been going there more often because there are so many people there who have had surgery more than a year ago.

Question regarding intake amount
Oregondaisy replied to shanda7182's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I guess that's what I was trying to say too. In the beginning I was still getting my required amount of protein from my protein drinks. Then in between I tried bites of chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad, the ricotta bake, etc. I remember very well only being able to eat very few bites of anything, and being surprised at how easy it was to keep up my protein intake because I had several protein drinks that I really liked. -
Thank you! I hope this thread keeps going as people either rent or go to the movies.

come into the chat room!
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I usually go in every evening and minimize the window and do other things surfing the net. The window stays down at the bottom of my screen and the doorbell rings when someone comes into the chat room. I can hear it ring and open the window. It's usually around 7-8:00 Pacific time but I leave the window open until I go to bed. -
1) Plans for the weekend Going to the gym Sat and Sun. morning. Helping some friends move Sat. afternoon. Will probably watch a movie with my friend who had a heart attack at some point over the weekend. 2) What's your favorite food and has this changed since you got surgery (assuming you are post-op)? My favorite food will always be Greek food. 2nd fav. is Mexican. Nope, it hasn't changed at all. 3) What was the last movie you saw in the theater? All about Steve and it was stupid. 4) How many states have you lived in? Oregon and Illinois

Question regarding intake amount
Oregondaisy replied to shanda7182's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a really hard time switching over in the beginning. It was really hard to figure out how much to eat. You may have to eat more often in the beginning if you can only eat 4 teas. at a time. Don't be afraid to supplement with Protein drinks if you can't eat solids or mushie stuff yet. -

What do I need to know/expect Post OP?
Oregondaisy replied to IGDiva's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish my addiction to sweets would go away. Everyone else says things taste too sweet to them, but not to me. I would love it if sweet things didn't taste good anymore! -
Go to the UserCP at the top of the page and it will bring you to a column on the left and from there you can find the private messages. You can type in Susan's name and send her a pm from there. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery!
