Those of us that meet in the chat room in the evenings get to know each other a little bit better. Let's all get to chatting!
-
It's nice to have people on your friends list, but I haven never figured out what the purpose of that is. I consider myself to be friends with everyone on this board because we are like a big happy family.

Success FINALLY Whey Optimum
Oregondaisy replied to Tiffykins's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
You need to get slim fast low carb if you are going to drink slim fast. I drank a lot of it at one point and time and I like it. It's good when you don't have a mixer handy to take and go. Any that is not low carb slim fast is way too high in carbs though. -
strange Question
Oregondaisy replied to pattan59801's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
With the RNY surgery, also called gastric bypass, they do leave the stomach there that they separate off. They make a small stomach which they call a pouch, and leave the rest of it right there! -
Vitamin timing?..Protien?
Oregondaisy replied to snates's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
'' You were with me! We went to GNC. I bought some other stuff there too. They did not have them at the GNC here in AZ but they had them at HiHealth so I picked up another box today! -
Question regarding hunger with the Band to Sleeve Revision
Oregondaisy replied to AKBarnes1's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I am almost at 6 months and I have heard the hunger comes back at 6 months so I will have to get back to you on that. I am never really hungry since my revision from band to sleeve. I eat because it's time to eat. I have a Protein drink when I get up, lunch at noon and dinner around 5pm. Head hunger is in the evening when I usually have a fudgesicle. -
Vitamin timing?..Protien?
Oregondaisy replied to snates's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love the Oh Yeah mint choc. Protein bars. I bought a box in Las Vegas but I haven't ordered them online. I am going to look at GNC while i am here in Arizona. I take calcium citrate chewables that I get from vitacost.com. they are kind of sweet, but I just chew gum as soon as I chew them up. It's better than having more pills to take. I don't like vitacost's chewable mulit Vitamin. As soon as I am done with the bottle, I am switching to Costco's adult gummy Vitamins. -
I love the sleeve too. It seems like maintaining my weight loss is so effortless. I too wish I had done this years ago!

Otay -- tell me about the sleeve
Oregondaisy replied to Manatee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have never been told that. I thought we were told that because we still have a stomach even if it's a small stomach, we still absorb what we need from our food. I do take a multiple Vitamin and calcium citrate though. Good luck Manatee. Keep in touch with us so we know how you are doing! -
I wish I liked to clean. I am in Arizona cleaning my dad's house and hating every minute of it. It looks clean, but it's filthy if that makes any sense. I have to scrub the floor on my hands and knees to get the grout on the ceramic tile clean. Here in AZ everyone has tile in their living rooms. My dad's back yard is even tiled! I have to wash walls, and deep clean and I would love to be doing anything else. Now I am taking a break at Star bucks and using their WIFI.

What prompted your revision?
Oregondaisy replied to Bandedbut's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
That is not true that no dr. will give you a sleeve if you don't gain the weight back. I know people who got the sleeve who were below goal weight but miserable with the band and Dr. Aceves took out their band and did their sleeve, all in one surgery, just like he did for me. I gained back 15 lbs from being unfilled and I wasn't about to just keep gaining and that is why I went to Dr. Aceves to get that stinkin band out. It was the best decision I have ever made! -

Reflections from a Fat Chick
Oregondaisy replied to roseyandmusic's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My band doctor and my regular doctor recommend Miralax. It's not a stimulant laxative. I take it every other day and I have no problems at all. It's great stuff and after a few days that you're on it, you will have normal bms. Make sure you drink lots of Water though. It puts water in the stools to make them soft and normal. Sorry if that's graphic. I know it used to be a prescription and my mothers doctor prescribed it to her. -
What prompted your revision?
Oregondaisy replied to Bandedbut's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Once the surgery began, the surgeon found massive amounts of adhesions. My band was gone from my stomach and my body had absorbed it. That's why I had my band out. I could just imagine what it was doing inside there. I wanted it out because I figured that throwing up in my sleep was not a good thing, and if I was doing that, what was going on with my band where I could not see if it was doing damage to my stomach. I am so glad I did. Living with the sleeve is pretty much effortless. -
I wish this surgery would make me want to clean. I am still just as much of a slob as I always was. I spend way too much time on the computer when I should be doing something productive!

I saw a good movie today. It was called Whip it. It was directed by Drew Barrymore. It starred Ellen Page who was in Juno. I liked it a lot. I would give it 3 stars. Please keep adding movies if you see or rent a movie. I plan to rent What about Bob since it's been recommended to me a few times. One of the other funny movies of all times in my opinion is There's something about Mary.

I would like people to name some movies they like. My friends and and I are always looking for movies to rent. We check the new releases, but I know there are some good movies that aren't new releases anymore. I like comedy but not that really stupid stuff that's just plain dumb. I also like a good drama. Mystic River is a good drama. It has Kevin Bacon in it. Anyone else want to name some of their favorites? Let's try to keep this thread going-new movies come out all the time.

I usually just minimize the chat window, leaving it down at the bottom of my screen. I go to my browser and open a new window with the forums. I click back and forth between the two. I'll check in the chat room tonight and see if anyone is in there! -
Dr Mercola and whey protein shakes
Oregondaisy replied to stoongal's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Judy, during the clear stage I used GNC unflavored Protein powder and mixed it with crystal light, K20 protein Water, and SF Hawaiin punch. There are the nectar drinks that are also allowable for the clear stage. You should check out the thread in the food section that shows where to order samples. If you can stand the taste, (the taste never bothered me) You should try to get protein in even during the clear stage. My favorite for the full liquid stage is the PVL brand Whey Gourmet Peanut Butter and chocolate that you order from Netrition.com -

I haven't been opening the window because nobody seems to want to chat. It would be nice to get a regular night and time set. -
I don't mind any cardio machine at the gym as long as I have my earphones on and I am into whatever I am watching on tv. I do this one machine that's an elliptical and a stair master depending on how you move your feet.

It does get better. I can pretty much eat anything I want. I had a piece of pizza last night with no trouble. The best part was that it filled me up so I had no desire to eat more while I watched my son and DIL polish off the rest of the large pizza. I never have pain or discomfort of any kind. I pretty much forget that I ever had sleeve surgery unless I eat too fast or don't chew my food. Then, it's uncomfortable.
