    Vitamin Question??

I accidentally bought the children's gummi vitamins at Costco. I never know how many to take since they aren't adult vitamins. They taste so good I am always tempted to eat more than I should.

    Whatcha' Eating?

I love all those laughing cow cheeses. I really like Kellogs Multi grain garlic and herb crackers. They are pretty low calorie for crackers and I love to spread laughing cow cheese on a few of them.
  3. Yea, I am due for another bone density test too.

    Whatcha' Eating?

Where do you get chopped up artichokes? I eat ham rolled up with some sort of cheese pretty frequently.
  5. I think it's important to take calcium no matter what the labs show now. Having a loss in calcium later on in life can have devastating effects. My friend's mom has broken her pelvis, leg and arm. Each time was because she slipped an fell, but they told her that her bones were very brittle. If we aren't drinking a lot of milk, by the time it shows up on a lab test, it's too late.
  6. Vomiting with the sleeve is not the same as when you vomit because you are sick. There is not a lot of acid because usually the food comes up pretty quickly undigested from either eating more than your sleeve can handle, not taking small enough bites or not chewing your food well enough.

    Vitamin Question??

It's good to take vitamins and a lot of people take chewables or liquid for the first few months post op.

    Whatcha' Eating?

I was very bad today. I ate about 6 pop corn balls. They were so yummy. It says right on the package that they are 100 calories each. So I had 3 protein drinks at 120 calories and 25 grams of protein so my calories weren't that bad even with all those pop corn balls.

    Weight Watchers Issue

I eat pizza every week. I always take my son and DIL out to pizza once a week. I can eat one piece of pizza and I really enjoy it. It fills me up so much that it doesn't bother me to watch them eat all the rest of a giant pizza.

    Hungry girl

I get hungry girl emails just about every day. She always reports on new foods she finds that are low cal and healthy. I'd like to get her book, but then again, I don't cook.
  11. You are a month past surgery so you should be able to eat mushie foods now. Mix up some tuna, or chicken salad. You will get full from just a few bites. They have tiny cans of chicken salad already made too. I ate a lot of that stuff in the beginning.

    Cereal?

There are a lot of ways to get Protein from drinks. There are the nectar drinks that you can order online. There is a thread in the food forum on where to order samples of different kinds of protein. There is also a rate your liquids thread. I wasn't allowed any mushie food for 3 weeks post op. Mine was 10 days of clear liquid, then 10 of full liquid before I could move to mushie foods.

    Ready Ready Ready

Did you order any samples for your post op diet?

    Cereal?

Tomorrow will be 6 months for me and I can drink a tiny bit of milk but anymore than that and I am sick. I agree with Mac. Cereal will not be a good choice because there is basically no Protein in it and a tiny bit can expand in your new stomach and will feel horrible. I am still losing my hair, and I feel like I am losing muscle even though I work out with weights and have for the past 5 years. My skin is hanging in places it never did before, even though I have not lost anymore weight. Keeping your protein up in the high range is really important to prevent losing muscle and hair!

    Exercise help here, please!

I have to do it in front of the tv. I plan my exercise according to what I want to watch on tv. Start out slowly until you can build up more resistance. Intervals are good too. That is where you go up and down on the resistance.
  17. I am nearly at 6 months post op. People have said that the hunger comes back at 6 months. I am happy to report that today I hardly ate anything. I just wasn't hungry, and I reminded myself that I needed protein so I ate. The hunger does not seem to be coming back.

    unusual question

I am sorry Judy but I am not good with the computer to make a link. You have to go to forums, then go to the food section and there is a thread titled something like places to get samples. There is also a rate your liquids thread in the food section too. It would be good for you to get some samples because you never know what you're going to like after surgery. That way you won't be stuck with a big tub of something you don't like.

Do you consume more calories than you think?

Thanks. I will mention it to her.
  20. That does not surprise me in the least. I found a picture of me from 10 years ago. There are not very many pictures of me at my highest weight. I am so glad I had WLS and even more glad that I had the band removed and got the sleeve!

    unusual question

You should be on liquids before you get to the mushy stage. Go to the thread that has samples you can order of liquid protein. A lot of people don't like the protein drinks that are milk based like chocolate. If you tend to go for fruity flavors, try the Nectar drinks.

I am really happy for you Judy. Soon you will be on the weightloss wagon and on the road to recovery!

Do you consume more calories than you think?

So do you all agree that my fitness pal is the easiest to use? I am asking for my friend. I have mentioned her before. She is 48 yrs old and had a heart attack. Her cardiac rehab program included a session with a dietitian. She was surprised when she was told how many fat grams and calories she was told to have, and doesn't know how to figure it out according to which foods she eats. She said she looked on line and found fitday but it did not have a lot of the foods that she eats.

    the gas is....

Everything gives me gas. It's a big problem. I think splenda gives me gas too. I know anything with sugar alcohol gives me gas worse than I ever thought was possible. Milk products definitely give me gas too. Like I said, it's a big embarrassing problem!

    Sexuality and the sleeve

I think it's very inappropriate! Just kidding. I am not getting any since I don't have a bf at the moment so NO FAIR!
